You can pass kidney stones but not gall stones, I had fall stones and the only way to get rid of them is to have your entire gallbladder removed

Thanks! It was very helpful. My husband is scheduled to have it removed laparoscopically next week but suffering currently. He took 2 extra strength Tylenols about 30 min ago & is (for the moment) finally getting relief & trying to rest but we'll see how that goes...

Hi,My first big attack lasted 10 and a half hours and I could not get a doctor as it was the evening of Easter Sunday.I squeezed 1 fresh lemon in a cup of warm water and after about half an hour I got relief.I've had many smaller attacks over 5 years but only became aware of gallstones this Easter week end. After reading up on the internet.I was always of the opinion that my stations from my cholesterol medication was causing the pains.Hope this gives u some idea.Best wishes to good health. I agree. I have had a healthy diet all my life (I'm 77)and couldnt believe that I had an infected gall bladder and gall stones. I thought I had appendicitis.

Yeah I'm pretty healthy and have a low fat diet to manage my gall stones- but when I have too many eggs (say a couple of poached eggs on wholemeal toast) I get an attack because of the cholesterol in the eggs. So yes, diet works to a degree- but actually some foods that you wouldn't consider 'bad' cause my attacks

Usually my episodes last 30-60 minutes, but recently had a very bad attack in the middle of the night with vomiting. I am going to try some natural remedies and my doctor ordered a ultrasound test to check out my gallbladder.
