I have had this problem a long time. Excruciating pain. 3 remedies. Get in a tub of hot water as soon as possible relief comes slowly, hotter is better!
2. Deep tummy massage press and hold your stomach in the painful areas until it is cleared up. 3. High doses of vitamin C on a regular basis. Mine went away until I stopped doing this. Back on it again!

have the same thing as above...i wouldn't say its all that common just because 20-30 people post anonymously here. Anyways... 2 ibuprofens upon immediately feeling of pain will eliminate 75% of the time for pain. Since it takes 10-15 minutes for the ibuprofens to kick in you will still have to deal with the initial pain. All positions, ice, heat, doesnt work. I have been seconds away from passing out from this pain.

Try quitting coffee/energy drinks/tea. Mine went away when i stopped and came back when i started drinking these again.

Yes, I have tried this multiple times and it has worked for me. Try rubbing ginger on it first!

I FIGURED OUT A CURE!!

I'm a 50 yr old female & have had this after an orgasm. The pain lasts several hours & it's so bad I can't sleep, nor go to the bathroom to relieve the pain.
I tried something the following day just to do an experiment. I drank more water & did sort of a colon cleanse, only eating what was REALLY easy to keep everything loose in the #2 area. THIS WORKED. What I think it is.... is the colon gets backed up & something in the genital area expands, pressing against the colon & muscles down there that causes the pain & won't stop until that goes down which takes a different amount of time for different people. SO, if this happens to you also..... try it. The day you plan to orgasm on that evening, totally change your diet. Even better, do a colon cleanse. When the colon has nothing in it, there's no pain.
Like steam up a LOT of organic broccoli & veggies & ONLY eat this for all meals with plenty of water. When the colon doesn't consist of things that are thick, like breads (gluten/glue) meats, things that are heavy & are not yet passed through the colon that sit there waiting for your next meal to push it through, I believe THIS is THE cause of the pain. When you get excited, the colon is constipated. OR try using a laxative, (not too much) but just enough to have every meal you've had over the recent say 8 to 12 hours, turned to almost liquid, there won't be pain during orgasm.

That's my two cents, based on the experiment I did that worked. No more anal cramping upon arousal or orgasm. That's not such a bad thing either, keeping the pipes clean or having regular cleanses is probably going to improve your overall health over the years anyway, resulting in better thinking, skin & lots of other things. I think it's just a backup problem more than some disease that needs drugs to cure or numb the pain.

I've found that CHEWING & swallowing three 500 mg. acetaminophen pills as soon as you feel the proctalgia fugax cramp coming on will make it go away within a very few minutes (instead of the usual 20 to 30 minutes!). Sometimes a fourth pill is needed, but usually 3 is enough, especially if you catch it before the cramp becomes full blown.
Because too much acetaminophen harms the liver, limit this remedy to once a day. It works for me!

Hi everyone, I've actually suffered with severe pain in my bottom since I was a little girl. It's predominantly at night and I'm woken up with it and it's excruciating to a point I could cry. I've discovered that it can also occur after orgasm which is really unfair. Tonight the pain started and I decided to look it up as my doctors are useless and offer no help! I hope someone finds something that helps that we can all try because after 40+ years I've had enough!

Healthy 24 yr old male - finally found my people. Every so often, after climax, I feel an intense pain, clench my teeth and have to waddle to the toilet or take a knee. They last 5-15 min and my longest one lasted about 40 minutes. Distracting my mind, resisting the urge to clinch and talking with my wife normally helps the pain slowly subside. I may look into some of these other suggestions of relief so I hopefully won't continue to deal with this any longer!! Best of luck to you all.

So I'm not alone after all. I am a 36 year old mail with a relatively active lifestyle. I first began experiencing this literal "pain in the ass" about 3 years ago but not as often as now. I went and extremely long time without having Sex or masterbating as I was on medication that killed my sex drive. First time was first a minute or less after orgasm. I hadn't had any kind of sexual pleasure for 3 or 4 months up until then. It was pretty intense but lasted maybe 15 minutes. The following year or so, I would get them randomly but only after an orgasm post masterbation. I didn't get them after having sex with my ex girlfriend but I was drinking alot of the time so that may have relaxed my ass muscles enough...who knows. Fast forward to now and it's gotten much worse. I can no longer masterbate at all without paying the price now and it lasts much longer. 20 minutes is getting off easy with some lasting over 2 hours. I had stopped masterbating completely and haven't been in a relationship in a while so I thought I'd eliminate the problem at the source. Wrong again. It would appear my sex drive has a mind of its own as now, at least twice a week, I orgasm in my sleep and wake up from the intense pain. Literally feels worse than taking a full punt to the ass from someone wearing steel toe boots. It got so bad last week that I went through a cold sweat and nearly vomited and blacked out. Just barely avoiding both. Sitting on the can gives minor relief and it usually...after a VERY long time passes. I must wait for it to completely pass though otherwise it will return and may even worsen. I recently decided I want to start dating again but I don't want this condition to hinder me from being able to have Sex. It's by far the worst pain I've ever experienced and I'm tough as nails. I read somewhere that it maybe from not masterbating enough but it's too unbearable to check that remedy. I'd be willing to try anything at this point as it's ruining my will to want to date again. And I agree with you all. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone!

It is proctalgia fuax. They have no cure and dont know what causes it. One way for immediate relief is to use a quick cold water enema. If that doesnt work then warm to hot water. Cold use to work and now I have to use hot...the hot will stop and I go back to cold water. I have a small enema bottle and use it and it stops it fast. Best relief as I have tried everything and anything. I even travel with the bottle.

Bingo! I get same symptoms hours after having quick sex. I used to get up and walk around the house quickly and then found massaging the area helped. I'm 57 and have had it for about 30 years. Not so often or bad now. The key is to avoid climaxing too quickly. It happened once on the train the next am. That was not fun.

Have you tried delaying your orgasm? I found that if I can hold off for 15 minutes or more and don't go off the 1st time you feel like going off not only don't I get the pain later but it's more fun. If I get the pain, walking around quickly and/or massaging the buttocks hard will help. A cold water bottle down there helps too. For me delay is the key. During sex get up and use the bathroom or read. Don't be afraid to tell your partner. I hope you feel better.

I mean. A lot of times the muscular actions active during intercourse are what trigger the pain. It's not the only cause, but it is a cause. No need to make assumptions and scream in all caps.
