My wife gets these 6-8 times a year, normally between 2-5 am. She was taking muscle relaxers to relieve the intense pain, but they take 20-30 min to take effect. We somehow discovered deep penetration at the right angle actually stops the contractions after a few minutes of hard thrusting. I guess it makes sense because it must massage the spasming muscles and she gets relief in a matter of a minute or two!
I have the same issue for 6-7yrs now (40yr old male). It happens most often after intense sex, and especially after going a longer time without sex. It has also happened a couple of times after going number 2. What i have found helps me are: 1) less physical sex, for example having my wife on top instead of other positions where i need to move more, 2) masturbating if going for a longer period without sex - even though it also happens with masturbating although less often and less intense, 3) when it happens, i sit on the corner of a chair or on a flat cool surface to put pressure on the area between anus and testicles, and take a fast acting pain killer. When it first happened i was really worried, happy to know that at least it is not something more serious behind this pain.

27 year old male and I've been dealing with this for most of my life. I would encourage everyone who suffers from this to pick up an electric heating pad and immediately after sex or when you feel the pain coming on to crank up the heating pad to the hottest level and sit directly on it. For me it provides immediate relief and since doing this have not had to suffer that excruciating pain. Stay on the pad for 10-20 minutes until you feel the muscles relax. I've tried every other remedy offered here over the years but sitting on the heating pad is the only thing that has been able to reliably stave off the pain.
i get it very randomly, ive nearly passed out from the pain before, but most of the time its jist a deep dull pain, best thing ive found that clears it in minutes is a hot bath, only tajes a few min to run a hot shallow bath, if yoy dont have a bath, warm shower on ya butt hole.
only had it happen twice from sex, ofter afrer masterbation......should probably lay off the masturbation lol, other times it seems to be when im overtired and it wakes me up, thats the worst when you are so tired and fuzzy headed and you have to deal with the pain on top of that, i have friends with much more severe conditions though so i cant complain really

I often wake up from deep sleep with this horrible pain. A couple times recently I sat on a chair with a towel under me, and masturbated right up to the edge of orgasm, and surfed that edge for 30 minutes, without orgasm, and the pain went away in about 10 minutes. It felt good enough that I edged a bit longer.

I'm a 45 year old female. I have struggled with these debilitating contractions for about eight years. In my case I do believe they are related to hormonal fluctuations. my spasms happen either after a bowel movement or an orgasm. I have tried many things to relieve the pain. My spasm seems to last anywhere between 20 minutes to an hour. And they are excruciating at times. Hot baths help a lot. And also massaging the area of the bum makes a big difference as well. I have also used a heating pad on the bum immediately and that seems to keep it from Contracting more so. I also get up and move around sometimes, even exercise like jumping rope, anything to get my heart rate up and get my blood flowing and oxygen flowing seems to make a big difference. The one thing that I've learned not to do when I'm having one of these spasms is to lay in bed. It just continues to get worse and worse. In my experience moving around and also applying heat to the area is most effective. I wish there was more information out there documented on what causes the spasms. The human body is a mystery sometimes. Doing what you can to make yourself most comfortable I think Is all you can do sometimes.
Thank you for posting. I have a very severe case of this for about 10 years now. It has gotten worse with age and gets even worse with stress and travel. I never knew it had an actual name and diagnosis, since all of my MANY doctors have never heard of this! The only quick relief of this has been a very hot heating pad on my back side, laying on my back with the heating pad in between me and the bed. I have also become vegan and have found that to help on a more consistent basis, cutting my “attacks” in half. I am so thrilled to know others have experienced the same thing. I’m not alone..... how wonderful to know that!
Thank you. I have had these attacks since about 30 years old. I get them every two to three weeks. If I feel one coming on I quickly get my heating pad on HIGH and place it under me, to get my entire area as hot as possible. I agree the heat helps, so far the only thing that helps. I changed my diet to become vegan and that has helped a lot as well. Stress , for me... seems to trigger an “attack”.
