Male of 68yo. I've had these off and on. Sometimes after sex and sometimes not. Doc had some interesting comments. He suggested a bowel irritant (like chocolate). Since I've discovered a nice dark chocolate, I got another last night. So, who knows what REALLY causes these stinkin' things, but I suggest some of you can look at your diet. Could help! Good site. Amazing the stuff we have to put up with in these bods!!
I wish all of you had a bidet. All you have to do is sit and shoot the hottest water you can stand into your bum. In seconds the whole area relaxes and you can jump right back in bed to cuddle post-sex, sleep post masterbation or get back to the rest you need since it can also be triggered when you are overly tired or stressed out. I live in a country that has great nozzle bidets - aim and shoot!
You sure on this. Cause sometimes this pain really gets horrible and feels like I am about to faint. All I do is take a walk in the house for 25 minutes or open the windows and sit in cold air which makes it subside faster.
I have had these for a few years now. I am a 50 year old male and my issues usually happen only at night. Kinda weird to talk about but horrible pain in the anus and penis so hard it hurts. I think I have attributed mine to dehydration. If you think about how much water you drank that day you might realize it was very little. I usually get up and drink a large glass of water and it seems to help it go away. I also was just diagnosed with disk degenerative disease in my lower back so it might also be nerves getting pinched. If you have this problem a lot try drinking lots of water during the day it just might help.
We should start a support group. I am 36 you female who has been experiencing "THE PAIN" since I was 15. Its aleays caused by orgasm or arousal and lasts from 5-40 minutes and has been intense enough to make me pass out. Do you notice many people say it wakes them up? Many times my pain is induced from having sexual dreams that cause arousal. Maybe people aren't remembering their dreams but it could be a link as to why it's at night so often. I've been checked by so many Dr's and they all say it's a random nerve issue and they can't narrow down or help me with the problem. If I could take anote emergency pain shot in the butt when this is happening I'd gladly do it. Applying pressure helps but kegels can cause it to flare up and continue.
My doctor said to use an asthma inhaler after the orgasm as it relaxes the muscles to reduce the cramping.

Quickest relief I found is sitting in a warm bath.
Hi! I am a 53 year old male and I have had this problem with extreme pain, sometime I have a vagal shock and almost pass out. The stabbing burning pain is triggered for me either sometime after a strong orgasm or if I defecate quickly. Also sometimes for no reason in the middle of the night.
The pain usually spreads until it also feels like one of my testicule is being crushed.
Usually goes away after 20-40 minutes. A cold bath or shooting cold water to the area usually help.

We are not alone! This threat is great. This first happened to me when I was 15 or so. I woke up in intense pain and it lasted for what felt like an hour. It doesn't feel like other muscle cramps do. I would describe it as a thick excruciating pain, inside the pelvis slightly deeper than the anus. My instinct was always to sit on the can and push, which relieved it ever so slightly, but never made it stop. I'm 30 now and it only happens every few years (thank god). These days it's mostly only after climaxing very quickly, or, yes, defecating quickly.
Many years ago I experienced this after sex. But pain didn't start till the next day or so and lasted for a few days. I saw a PT person and exercises and sitting on a tennis ball did not help at first but eventually it resolved. It has now returned and I wonder why it waits a day or two to start. Motrin or Excedrin help a little but this certainly cramps my sexual activity. ( No pun intended ) I worry if the tennis ball sitting could be making it worse?
I’m a 37 year old woman who had an anal fissure (constipation that split my anus down to the muscle, I thought I was going to DIE from pain). But anyways, that was 4 months ago. I got botox-injections 2 months ago, to paralyze the muscle and heal the fissure… and NOW, in the past three weeks, I’ve had three of these Procalgia Fugax attacks. It makes no sense, since the botox is still in effect and the fissure is healed.
It’s happened twice after orgasm, and once at 9.30pm while I was making dinner (??). Just standing by the stove.
Lasts about 30 minutes. Squatting with feet wide apart helps significantly. I’ve talked to two bowel-surgeons about it (I work with and in surgery myself) and they say it ”usually” stops after 6 months or so. No treatment that really works. ”Try to relax”. Ha!

Three times a day -that is so rough. Sorry to hear it. I have this problem too but not so frequently. I suggest you check out bio feedback with a pelvic physical therapist. If the levitator is going into spasm there might be a way to teach it to relax with biofeedback. With the frequency you have it, it might be good to get an MRI to of the sacral area to see if there’s some kind of nerve compression or something that leads to that muscle group?
