Back pain along with stomach bloating and bowel problems

For about a week and a half now I have been suffering from constant back pain that seems to move around my back and seems to be intense at night. Along with this is stomach bloating and bowel problems, some days I can't stay out of the restroom and other days nothing or very little. I have a lot of gas, yet it seems hard to expel. Not sure if I should call my doctor or is this something that will pass. I do have IBS so not sure if it is just a matter of time and it will go away?

Hey guys, The same here. It is started approx. one year ago. Lower back pain/burning, lower abdomen pain when sitting, feeling sleepy sometimes. I feel much better when I stand or walk. Everything goes away when I am lying on the bed. I experience bloating, gas. I went to different doctors, did blood, urine, stooll tests (only blood has high iron - that is it); went through ultrasound, CT scan, colonoscopy, urology check up (everything is normal). The last doctor just did not know what else to suggest so I left. I am not sure where to go at this point, probably to chiropractor (last option). If anyone can suggest solution, please post it.
I just started feeling ill about 4 days ago. I have had a problem with my spleen area since about 6 years ago which I have been told is a fatty tumor, only last time I checked tumors don't come and go and randomly cause extreme pain and shortness of breath. The symptoms 4 days ago started as just a very severe pain in my side that was shooting down to my stomach. I had to sit with my knees pulled up to keep pressure on my stomach to ease the pain. That evening it began to feel like little people were running around in my stomach, I was too afraid to look and see if it was actually moving. The following morning I woke up with the same pain but also a severe pain in my lower back. I still cannot get comfortable no matter what I do. Last night I was staring at my stomach trying to figure out why it hurt and why it looked so bloated and I swear I saw it move even though I wasn't moving. It's just really weird.
Lady, what I can tell you is that an IUD can reak havoc with your system. I was fine and healthy up until I put one in. I eventually had to have it removed because gradually I got worse and worse pains, dizzy spells etc. It started with pain during PMS, then I started getting dizzy spells and cramps in my legs. Over about 9 months the pain became unbearable and I eventually felt like I was in labour and I used to get what felt like a stitch. The slightest bit of bloating and I would be in agony. Once I removed the IUD, I felt a whole lot better....but because I left it for so long I developed a systemic infection that has made me sensitive to certain foods, conditions etc.It put me 100 paces back. I can't even have one or two drinks because then I land up with the worst IBS, cramps, etc. Do yourself a favour, remove the thing....
I found this page kinda by accident. I feel at once like I belong to a fellowship of fellow sufferers. I have been experiencing bowel problems for about 3 months now. My symptons include a discomfort in my lower left abdomen, irregularity in passing gas and constipation. Actally, my bowel movements have become somewhat irregular and includes a little blood. A CT scan indicated small bowel narrowing. I had just had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy a few years ago. But I was simply wondering if back problems can cause these types of issues. I had had a pain in my upper rib area, and it is much better after seeing my chiropractor. The back area seems connected to just about every part of the body!!!!!
Everybody here needs to google candida and read up on it. I was experiencing the same symptoms and then some. Most doctors do not know or do not believe it can be an issue. This will explain why they run all these tests and then say nothing is wrong. They are trained to treat the sysmptoms and not the source. Hope this is helpful.
I have another problem than the one you all are discussing here. On days when I have missed a meal or had my meals later than usual, I have this sharp pain in my stomach and my mid-back accompanied by a bloating stomach. I know for certain its gas, because I start burping excessively. The pain in the back is so bad that I am unable to do anything at all, except lie down in pretzel-type positions. Sometimes (when I've missed or belated my morning meal) the pain builds up and reaches its peak at nights. By next morning however, its gone. I've had this problem for quite sometime now. I know it has something to do with gas but I cant seem to put my finger on what triggers this. If anyone knows the cause and/or the treatment, please let me know.

Reading all the posts confirms my belief that "IBS" is doctor-speak for "we don't know what's wrong with her....maybe she'll go away."
all of these symptoms everybody is reporting seem to me to point to one obvious factor that has been missed in the discussion. that is stress. i would implore all of you to think bout upping your exercise, by at least 30 minutes a day and aim for 4-5 days of moderate exercise per week, such as brisk walking. i too have suffered a lot of these complaints and although diagnosed with diverticulitis, have discovered that the meds are whack and mother nature is for me the best preventive way of life and long term health. i have read tons aoubt the digestive system now and have come to believe that stress is missing from the dialogue, but accounts for somuch. so definitely eat healtily and walk your butt off. in time you will definitely notice an improvement. good luck all! stay positive, our bodies respond to our thoughts!
i am having stomach pain on the side and lower part of my abdomin it radiates to my lower back. i also have chills and nausea...would it make my pain go away if i vomit? is there anything i can do?
i have been having a weird backache it started a few months ago i think mine is related to gastritis and ibs.it makes my back hurt like if im doing somethings it hurts bad with catches of pain.but i have noticed when i start expelling gas the pain gets less and less.i also think i may be allergic to wheat gluten and well i know i have lactose intolerence.i havent been to the doctor or had xrays to confirm anything else, but i figure if it was somethign else causing my back pain it wouldnt subside after expelling gas,so good luck to yall and get help if you need it,thanks for listening.
As for Flagyll - it will knock the giardia right out of you. My husband had a terrible case, went undiagnosed for 7 weeks, and that cleared it up in less than a week. We live in Albania where it is prevalent and Flagyll works every time.
