Can you control your intake? Maybe slowly taper down on the opiates? Everyone has a different tolerance to drugs. I feel relief from 25 of the 2 mg Loperamide pills. It cuts the withdrawals out about 90% for me. Loperamide is an opioid not an opiate----but works very similar. Take some food with it too. I'm highly addicted to opiates. Sad to say...

Also, check to see if you are eligible for disability. Sounds like it to me. Have to be out of work for a year and get a good lawyer. I wish you the best of luck with everything.

No. Just the capsules do the job----a lot of capsules. I drink a lot of water too to prevent the dry-mouth from the Loperamide. There is an injection called Vavatrol,:::: not sure if that's how it's spelled::::, but there is a big catch to it. I hear it stops the withdrawals to a lot of drugs from cocaine, heroin to alcohol, but you'll never get high or even buzzed ever again for the rest of your life. I like a good high from time to time, but what if you get into an accident after getting injected with the vivatrol and you need morphine? It may not work for the pain. Definately something to research.

Take Loperamide till you don't need the Loperamide anymore. That's cool, I'm glad it's helping you. Keep drinking a lot of water. I just quit another batch of oxycodone and popping 40 pills of Loperamide in the morning and I feel great. I love the fact that my withdrawals are a thing of the past and that I found an over-the-counter help out. I'll pig-out again on a new script of oxycodone in a few weeks. I know I should tapper off and maybe take them moderately like on weekends only. But Loperamide bails me out if I run out too early before my next refill. I hope this Loperamide works for everyone else as well so we can make opiate withdrawals a thing of the past forever.

This is very exciting news. Thank you for all the information! I have been using 200mg of Ultram a day for 13 years now (only one dosage adjustment during the 13 years). It was prescribed for pain after major restorative back surgery - because I am unable to tolerate narcotics of any type. Ultram also completely calms my restless leg syndrome that I have suffered from since childhood. The restless leg problems increased 1000% after the back surgery. I did much investigation and found increased restless leg syndrome common for lumbar surgery patients. Ultram is very often given to RLS sufferers. I am thankful for the relief, but I am SOOOO very unhappy with brain and anxiety problems I suffer if I do not take Ultram or if it has been too long between consuming pills. I also have this insane pounding & tinitus in my ears for 13 years now, which a side effect of Ultram. My doctor and I did test other RLS drugs but nothing worked. I have tried every natural remedy under the sun. I just refilled my Ultram prescription and I honestly want it to be my last refill. Being addicted is a terrible way to live. I have tried to cease the Ultram consumption before and nearly lost my mind, suffering all the withdraws symptoms I see others writing about. I really do want to find out which is the real cause of my increased RLS: the surgery or the Ultram.

Harpertina, your information was the best! Thank you so much. I couldn't see the way out, thought my life was over being addicted to oxycodone. Got some suboxones already and planned stopping from tomorrow. I'll throw those out (or sell them, they cost me as much as my pills) and go get the immodium in the morning. There's hope! :) I was ready to go through hell, it'll be amazing if I can get sober just by taking the loperamide. Thank you so much again, might saved my life. Good luck everyone, I feel you all, worst thing could happen to people. I'll let you all know in a few days what happened.

Hey everyone. I have read the original post and all the comments and I have a couple of questions. I pray I can get someone to reply back to me with a day or two. I am currently taking anywhere from 40-60mg of (percs, hydros, lors) in one dose four to five times a day. Yes, I know that a lot. I have gotten off of them before the hard way(cold turkey). Lord knows I really don't wanna have to do or go through that again. So here is my questions. First do you take the imodium just once a day if not then how many times?  How long/days do you have to take the imodium? Please help A.S.A.P. I am wanting to kick this habit like right now cause I have spent my savings on these darn things. PLEASE HELP, PLEASE HELP, A.S.A.P!!!!

Yes, I would like to know too!

I am addicted to Codeine, about 200mg per day or somedays even more.

So would I take the full 20 for Codeine withdrawal or would less be effective for me?

Plus I have constipation issues, even before the drugs....but you say I can take a laxitive on the Imodium/loperimide?  How far apart do I take each?  If I take them together, the laxative will cancel out the Imodium...

Yes, please give us a schedule if you can, ready to kick this habit!!!!   I am so DONE!

I don't know if Loperamide would help against any other withdrawal besides opiate withdrawals. Loperamide works 100% on me against opiate withdrawals from oxycodone; and others claim it helps them from related drugs such as percodan, roxycodone and hydrocodone.I take 30 of the 2mg pills with water and my withdrawals are gone for 24 hours. I'm used to Loperamide now that I've been on it for over a year and I enjoy it ALMOST as much as oxycodone. It works very well for me and I hope it does the same for everyone else who tried it. The key is to take at least 25-30 of those little pills to feel it work. Loperamide is an opioid----not an opiate. That's why it works!!! The brain thinks it's getting opiates. The only side effects I ever got was dry mouth. Dries the c**p out of my mouth. I drink plenty of water and I'm fine.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR PUTTING THIS INFO OUT! I GET SO SICK, I CAN NOT EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN IT WHEN I RUN OUT. STILL WORKING ON KICKING THE HABIT AND I WILL WHEN I AM READY. I REALLY THINK ABOUT THE PILLS AND THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ALOT MORE. I TAKE LESS ALSO. I AM A HEAVY OPIATE USER, IT WILL BE A HAPPY AY WHEN I DO NOT HAVE TO PLAN MY LIFE AROUND THOSE WICKED LITTLE PILLS ANYMORE. I AM REALLY SO FED UP WITH IT ALL I KNOW I WILL KICK THE NASTY LITTLE HABIT WITHIN THE YEAR. AS ALL OF YOU KNOW, YOU HAVE TO WANT TO STOP TO REALLY KICK THE HABIT. I AM GETTING THERE. THANKS FOR THE LOPERMIDE INFO!
