I have one on my thigh and its huge!! Very swollen, protruded, and painful. I shoved a needle into it and blood came out and it became more sensitive and painful. I don't know whether I should really stab into it or just leave it alone. I had to poke it in like 12 spots to get the whole thing! Please help! I'm pregnant and don't know if this is good or not...

I had the same thing. Went to my dermatologist and it was diagnosed as frollicolitis. If you shave the area and happen to nick yourself bacteria can get into the hair follicle and make it become infected. Go to tour doctor and have them prescribe a anti-biotic..good luck

I belive what you are describing is caused by sweat and rubbing against clothing its not uncommon what i would suggest to stop the chafing use Talcum powder and a antiseptic Skin care cream such as Sudo cream twice a day after showering . I do not suggest you do not attemp to pop the sore as you may give yourself Blood poisoning, If in a few weeks the Problem is not subsiding i would consult a doctor as you may need antibiotics to get rid of it completly.

I think a lot of us are talking about different things. And I'm curious who has had the same situation as me: I'm not over weight, my bump was/is tiny (it just looks like an inflammed zit) and was dark purple/black (like a blood blister). I popped it and a good amount of blood came out. So I shaved around the area (its near my crotch about 4 or so inches below my belly button), cleaned it with anti bacterial soap, then hydrogen peroxide, and then topped it off with neosporen. Let me know what you found out and I will post what I find.

5 Easy Steps to Rid "staph infection, ingrown hair or a growing under the skin pimple" Make sure you do your research and know exactly what you are doing. If any kids read this please consult your parents before poking ANYTHING with a needle. 1. Take a hot shower and be sure to clean the area with soap as well as your hands. Increase the waters tempurature and direct the hot water onto the affected area. 2. If the infection is still completely under the skin. Sterilize a small pin or needle. Gently use your fingers for support and put a small hole in the centre of the infection. 3. If you are sure you have entered a tiny whole into the skin begin to squeeze it slightly with two fingers. Puss and a lot of blood will come out so, don't be alarmed. 4. Be sure to not over do it. One point with the needle and a couple squeezes. When you feel the infection tightening, do not force squeeze it. Will cause more irritation and scarring. Use a hot face cloth and let sit on the infection for a few minutes to sooth it. 5. Apply a 3 biotic polysporin daily to the infected area. It should gradually decrease and eventually go away.

I got these bumps since I was about 14 & I'm 19 now.I assume I got these bumps because of my period but I was wrong. I would get them from my legs rubbing together if I walk to much.I assumed they were just big pimples and I always popped them with a sewing needle. (I would clean The needle before hand) usually these bumps do pop up often but usually near The same spots in my inner thighs near my private area. I would pop it on top of The bump where was The softest to enter and it would be a mixture of blood and The PUss sometimes like from a pimple but always liquid form.

I too have suffered with painful lumps that grow very quickly on my inner thigh, athough I think from reading there are several different symptons and problems listed here. I am a little over weight and my legs do rub on my jeans. One of the things I have also discovered though is I have a contact allergy to rubber. Before people laugh, it is pretty common but most people do not know they have it. A contact allergy means that if what your allergic to comes in contact with your skin, you get readness, raised lumps and can evolve to blisters, boils etc. People may say though I don't have rubber in contact with my skin. But funnly enough most do. It is very common to use rubber or derivative of rubber in underwear. Particularly in waist bands and stitching. It's what gives them the stretch. I found that by switching to all cotton underwear (check the label for elastine, lycra etc) most of my problems went away. People could try it, it could help. One of the quick tests is swim shorts, they almost all have rubber bands at the waist and tops of legs, put them on and wait for the reaction. I will get raised lumps at the point the leg bands contact my thigh in under 2 hours.

Be interested to hear if this helps anyone?

Clean and Clear makes a moisturizer that contains salicylic acid. It's the "Dual Action" moisturizer, it works great! It moisturizes the skin, so important, and the acne fighting salicylic acid clears the skin and prevents the breakouts. I run daily and have this problem ALL THE TIME! It looks awful and can be quite painful. Also, sleep in your birthday suit.

I get these embarrassing and painful bumps too.  Always on the inner thigh and butt area and I am most definitely sure mine are caused by a surge of hormones.  I only get them a week or so before my period without fail every month.  If I lose track of when Aunt Rose is coming for a visit I know it will be within a week of one of these ugly bumps appearing.  I wouldn't squeeze or poke at them with a needle - it could cause permanent scarring and infection.  I use a pimple ointment on them to dry them up and neosporin to reduce scarring.
