I need to look that up. And I started drinking in the evening, but not all the time. Super stressed and just want to relax and go to sleep. But I confess it got to be a habit for a while. Too expensive, so cut it out mostly.

I have the same problem. It started in my left side. I’m having neck issues, which are causing my peck muscles to feel week. So I’m lifting and hurting myself. I felt like I had a tear in the muscle and then the fluid built up from the injury. BUT tonight it’s now building up in the other side. Mine is actually painful when it swells. Burns up in to my face. Idk what’s happening but it’s scary!!

Interesting. I noticed my swellings (2, one on each side) about 8 months ago. I look like a Star Trek creature. No lymph gland involvement as was checked by dr. Very soft and fluid. Ive been noticing a lot of itching and swelling around my left scapula, but recently pulled a muscle there. I thought it was just healing. Thank you for posting. I will investigate this diagnosis of yours. Good luck, and I don’t feel so bad to see so many similar complaints.

Can not determine if cortisol is normal by just 1 blood test or saliva test during the day. Need multiple cortisol tests at specific times during the day.

I have had swelling above both clavicles for about a year. Recently worked with an endocrinologist who determined through blood testing. saliva testing, urine tests, and ultrasound that it is NOT being caused by any type of infection, I do not have Cushing's Disease, and my lymph nodes are not swollen. My thyroid numbers are within range although I do have a nodule on my thyroid. He couldn't determine if that might be the culprit. Today I decided to reach out to my chiro who I haven't seen in well over a year and he said he sees this swelling above the clavicle very frequently in his practice and that it is the result of insufficient muscle contraction in the shoulder, neck, and/or upper back area. Apparently if there is decreased range of motion in the upper body area - (cervical spine, thoracic spine, shoulders, ribs) this swelling will manifest due to the surrounding tissue becoming inflamed. I will be having regular adjustments done and see if it helps the swelling to decrease. I will keep you posted on the progress. My chiro has been in practice for over 50 years. He knows a thing or two.

I have Hashimoto’s and have this problem! When it swells or gets puffy, I get dizzy spells and feel like I am going to pass out. My bp is up and down! I have severe anxiety with this. I feel like it is putting pressure on my carotid arteries.

WOW! 1) 50 y.o. Female, 2) Peri menopausal 3) I first noticed this swelling about 2 years ago when the chain of a new necklace with a heavy charm was sinking into it and causing me discomfort. 3)I was a Medical Service Spec in the Air Force. 4) I've never been a heavy drinker, I almost never drink. 5) I smoked for about 25 years quit several times, currently quit. 6) I also often experience that same sensation of what I call a "fullness in my throat" that is very frightening at times as it feels like my breathing is being restricted, I think that began in 2019, it is now 2023. 7) I have hypothyroidism without medication. 8) I've lived in CA, TX, WY, OK, NC, SC, CO & WA.

I haven't taken synthroid in 7 years and I developed a fullness in my throat (that gets worse with anxiety) in 2019 and noticed the swelling behind my clavicles in about 2021. How are you now? Write me if you feel like it,

I've been off of synthroid for hypothyroidism 7 years (after having been on them for 7 years). Still alive and I've taken no medications from either side of the counter in 7 years (save one moment when I was in pain from sciatica and stupidly (due to the pain) forgot that drugs never really help).

Cushing's can be caused by exogenous steroids but can also be caused by a natural hormonal imbalance and or also caused by chronic stress. Our bodies produce the same steroids naturally and an imbalance can cause the same thing. Also, I believe the actual cause is elevated cortisol for long periods of time which can be caused by long periods of stress.

I have this as well. I have Long COVID also. Am wondering if it's a rare thing but judging how many people are here wondering the same thing maybe not rare?
