I have had this problem all my life.
When it comes to removing this problem, hope is lost..but i have got over it. Ill leave it for nature to decide, as it is improving ever so slightly, but never the less still unnatractive.

It sounds like what a lot of you are describing isn't pimples at all, but a skin condition called Hidradenitis suppurativa. It affects areas bearing apocrine sweat glands and hair follicles, such as the underarms, groin and buttocks. The following is from Wikipedia, but there are many other resources available: "The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, which can be as large as baseballs or as small as a pea, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation, culminating in drainage of pus, often leaving open wounds that will not heal. Drainage provides some relief from severe, often debilitating, pressure pain. Flare-ups may be triggered by stress, perspiration, hormonal changes (such as monthly cycles in women), humid heat, and clothing friction. Persistent lesions may lead to scarring and the formation of sinus tracts, or tunnels connecting the abscesses under the skin."
AND I know from personal experience, since I am plagued with this problem myself. The dark scarring that many of you have described is common in the condition and often, due to the formation of "sinus tracts", the scars can become active boils again. I often have problems in the same spots.
So yeah, there isn't a whole lot that can be done about it, unfortunately. Doctors just tell you to keep as clean as possible, try to maintain a healthy weight (weight can affect it but it is isn't the cause of the problem) and might try giving you antibiotics (which didn't work for me). Some doctors will lance them, but this can be done at home with a sterile needle and a disinfectant. In extreme cases, skin grafting is performed.

I do know that there is a body wash that helps with acne on your buttocks and it actually can help quite a bit if you have issues. I don't know if anyone else has tried that, I think it would help if you haven't tried it. Let me know?
What is the name of the body wash?
healthfitnessguy-
Can you share with us the name of the body wash that is suppose to help with this?

i find that it is mostly caused by sweat. i sweat all the time in heat. cooton underwear doesnt work, ive tried everything, the only thing that lessens the chance of them occuring is trying to keep ur bum d=from sweating, so no tight clothing...try not wearing ordinary undies, try a g string as it doesnt touch the whole buttock area.
I was reading about this online, and someone said to wash your buttocks with rubbing alcohol or a bacteria cleanser and then apply anti persperant. Well, I did it yesterday and today and i can say the # of pimples has dropped significantly and they are not irritated or red or sore. Good luck to you all!
strange but yet amazing solution... i started smoking weed 3x a week... the pimples didn't necessarily go away but i stopped caring!
hi my age is 21 and i have a problem that on my buttocks there are tiny kind of permanent goose bumps... and they never go....though they are not pimples... and it leaves the skin very uneven...is there any solution for making the skin smooth... and anyway to get rid of that uneven skin... plz answer my question and give the best solution
I had pimple problems on my butt for years. Last year I reasoned that because I live in the tropics, sweat would always be a problem. The last thing I wanted to do was add powder or cream to an area that was pleagued with blocked sweat glands. I started scrubbing my buttocks with a fingernail brush every morning, then wipped the whole area with alchol. In the last year I have had only two pimples and they dried up in one day.
I had a the same problem and I found that i am allergic to polyester. And that is 45% of material used in my under paints. So I switched to 100% cotton and it slowly decrease in numbers. But i still play football and it has not fully stopped yet. That's because I do a lot of stewing in football and the paints make it stay close to your leg and "they" come!
I have had the same problems and am glad I am not alone. Also try sitting in a hot bath with Epsom salt or using a hot compress. This will soften the head and the stuff inside and allow it to pop more easily.
I've been experimenting with my diet, and also doing a lot of research. There seems to be a concensus accros the board that certain foods aren't good for people, especially wheat and dairy products. One of the best methods to keeping healthy is following the foods lists in the book " Eat Right 4 Your Blood Type". This book has the scientific results of what food do to the different blood types, and wheat is one of the things that most can't eat, especially the most common blood type, Type O. I highly suggest buying this book, or somehow accesing the imformation it contains, since the diet is by far the cause of many ailments. Certainly, acne on the forehead is usally a result of digestive problems, or signifies as much.
Other than eating right, I have found that using anti-septic natural oils, such as Tea Tree or Lavender very much help with pimples on the face AND buttocks. Its also come up in what I've read that keeping the moisture in the skin is critical. Most moisturizers have perfumes and junk in it thar aren't necesary. Do NOT go cheep on your face moisturizer, the only thing I can suggest is a dermatalogially approved moisturizer for the face, with a tiny bit of sun screen, and also the high end expensive stuff is usually worth it. BUT, now this is a big but, going o' naturel is probably better, likely more rewarding, and a little bit cheaper since the oils purchased aren't synthesized or brand named. I've been using Almond Oil on my skin, and oh it is devine!! Its perfect on the face, and everywhere else. You may think... "are you crazy?? Oil on the face?" Yes, I mean it, but I'm not nutz. If the face is feeling dry, it will produce the oil, and probly make too much, so its best to keep the moisture there. The almond oil you put on your face will be absorbed in, and doesn't feel or look like when your skin produces too much oil, its almost a soft pearly type of oil and will do your skin a lot of good.
So, staples for your skin care kit: PERFUME FREE and other c**p free SOAPS, MOISTURIZERS, and anti-bacterial stuff.
-- O' NATUREL! -- The stores that sell this stuff often know what they are talking about only because they actually give a sh*t, so when you go to look for the natural products, such as face soaps, body oils, and essential oils there is a lot of knowledge and help out there for choosing.
Oils etc I like: ALMOND OIL - body oil... face and everywhere.
LAVENDER and TEA TREE esential oils for spot treatments. Lavender is especially good for calming the skin, and reduction of redness.
Soaps... hmmmm.... I've been using a high end face soap that is very light, and I got on sale, but I really liked this bar soap that had honey in it a while back. None the less, for soaps you just want to stay away from perfumes, and there are lots of good sugestions out there.
Cheers, and good luck.

Hi there,
I advise to use a sunbed, it clears up these spots a treat and you get a nice tanned behind also!

I'd just like to warn people that a lot of what has been said on here is BS. culprit: staph bacteria, not diet. topical antiseptics/antiseptic soap will help. eating for your bloodtype will not (nor will it help with much else, fyi).
p.s. I've tried salicylic acid and it didn't do much... in a pinch I've tried a generous helping of polysporin which has had a bit of an effect.
