OKAY.. I AM ALMOST IN TEARS HERE... I HAD MY TUBES TIED IN JAN 2000 (ABOUT 11.3 YEARS AGO), AFTER I GAVE BIRTH TO MY 4TH BIOLOGICAL CHILD.. I HAVE ALWAYS FELT GUILTY, LIKE I DISHONORED "GOD" BY CHOOSING TO GO THAT ROUTE.. ALMOST LIKE THE FIG TREE THAT JESUS CURSED, BECAUSE IT PRESENTED ITSELF LIKE A BARER, BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO PRODUCE FRUIT.. LIKE, I LOOK LIKE A WOMAN, BUT AM NOW STERILE... ANYWAY, ONE OF MY BIGGEST FEARS IN ALL OF THIS IS HAVING AN ETOPICAL PREGNANCY, THAT I WOULD BE FORCED TO END.. OR RISK LOSING MY LIFE... SINCE FEB OF THIS YEAR, I HAVE PICKED UP QUITE A BIT OF WEIGHT... MY PERIOD IS NOW ABOUT 2 WEEKS OR SO OVERDUE, FROM THE LAST PERIOD, WHICH WAS ACTUALLY LATE, ITSELF... AT THE END OF LAST MONTH, I STARTED HAVING VERY TENDER AND SORE BREASTS, WHICH LASTED THRU LAST WEEK... I HAD SOME CRAMPS LAST WEEK, LIKE I WAS ON MY PERIOD, BUT, NO BLOOD EVER CAME DOWN.. I HAVE READ THAT ETOPICAL PREGNANCIES ARE NOT LIKELY TO SHOW UP IN HOME PREGNANCY TESTS, AND THAT I SHOULD GET MY BLOOD LEVELS TESTED.. HCG, OR SOMETHING OF THAT SORT... I STATED THAT IF BY NEXT MONDAY, IF MY CYCLE HASN'T COME, I WOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR... I AM STRESSING OVER THIS, CAUSE I'M AFRAID THAT IF I AM PREGNANT, THAT THE BABY WOULD NOT BE IN MY WOMB... I WOULD RATHER HAVE A THOUSAND MORE NORMAL PREGNANCIES, THAN TO HAVE ONE TUBAL PREGNANCY, THAT I WOULD BE FORCED TO TERMINATE... OH, AND I THINK THAT MY TUBES WERE TIED, CLIPPED, AND BURNT... I REMEMBER WHEN THE PROCEDURE WAS BEING DONE, THAT THE DOCTOR SAID "WELL, AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT ONE COMING BACK TOGETHER".. I BELIEVE THAT WAS AFTER HE CLIPPED THE RIGHT SIDE, CAUSE I THINK HE CLIPPED MORE THAN HE SHOULD HAVE...

I know what you mean.  It would be terrible to have to terminate a pregnancy, but please do not blame yourself.  I, too, felt like I was doing something really wrong by tying my tubes.  Like I was dishonoring god because I know He created me to reproduce.  But, after much prayer and being completely honest with God, I had peace.  I have given God the best I have, all of me.  I have given birth to 4 beautiful and blessed children, all by c-section, and I just could not do anymore.  It was just not safe for me.  My last baby almost killed me.  I need a blood transfusion, with 4 units of blood.  I know what it feels like to bleed to death.  I was right there, knocking on heaven's door, lol.  But God chose to let me live.  I do not regret my choice, I believe that it was the best for me and my family and that God is ok with it.  Nowhere in the Word do you read, thou shalt not tie thy tubes.  We do the very best we can, and know what we can bear.  If we are doing something wrong, then anyone who uses any form of birth control is sinning.  What about the women who never want kids?  Don't beat yourself up.  If you are pregnant, and it is ectopic, pray for God's grace, and mercy to cover you, and repent for having to terminate the pregnancy.  I am sooooooo anti abortion it isn't funny.  But, in the case of an ectopic pregnancy, there is no way that the baby can live, and you live too.  God will forgive you, sis.  Don't beat yourself up.  Keep your chin up sis.  God loves you so much, and He knows exactly what you are going through.  Let us know how everything works out for you.

I am 33 I had a tubal done during my C-section 11 1/2 years ago. i am a little worried that i may be pregnant i am 10 days late  though after my last period  i did have some spotting i feel like i am forever in the bathroom, i have heart burn that wakes me up at night, i am sleepy a lot, and i have been feeling sick to my tummy  for days now. however i have taken  a pregnancy test twice and got a neg both times. not sure what else to do.

i am almost 37 yrs old i had my tubes tied 11 yrs ago after my son was born. my new husband and i would like a child togther so remarkably we where pregnant with twins. while at work i had a miscarriage due to my tubes. Where planing on having my tubes untied and starting to have a bigger family. Im really worried cause in my past i have had 4 other miscarriages beforethe tubal can someone tell me what they think of my chances.

i am 28 iv had  my tubes tied 4 ayear and 2 months i found out im 8 weeks pregant will eveything go ok and should i be worried

I had my tubes done 10+ years ago....after taking 5 home pregnancy test and then finally visiting the dr....i am 4-5wks pregnant...so yes it can happen....so far the pregnancy is normal and not ectopic. i have 4 boys and figured the odds were not with me as far as having a girl, thats why i had the procedure done.

OK I am  mom of 2 boy's age's 5 and 7years old I had a TBL after my youngest was born (during my c-section) I have always had normal period's ever since until now....my cycle is always 27 day's apart...my last period was september 14th 2011 and so you see I am very late....i have all the sign's of pregnancy and I was wondering has there been any recent pregnancy's reported on here after a TBL....I would be extremly happy if I am but I am freaking out with the not knowing...should I go to the doctor or just wait it out?

OK after reading your story I'm REALLY scared :o( .... I also had my tubes cut-tied-burnt 18 years ago after my second child . I spotted 2 days in Sept. and nothing for Oct , Nov, or Dec. and spotted again this week ( Jan) - I wasnt even thinking I could be preg till I seen a show on I didnt know I was pregnant . I just figured it was from getting older etc. and family and friends have been asking me if I was preg I laughed it off sayin no I had my tubes tied I must just be getting fat . Now the past 2 weeks I keep feeling like butterfly feelings , I keep telling myself its just inmy head , I took one cheap home test said NEG. then took another one from Walmart OF COURSE the second test said invalid result .

This scares me , seems it is MORE COMMON than what people think , I had a tubal 18 yrs ago and am 42 yrs old now and am scared to death I might be preg :o(

I had a tubal ligation over 5 years ago after my second child was born.  About 2 years ago, I was having some discomfort on my right side which was something I hadn't felt before.  My periods had all been regular & I showed no signs of being pregnant at all, just this pain in my side.  My family encouraged me to go to the ER thinking that maybe it was kidney stones or something.  After several tests were done, the doctor came into the room & asked my family to leave.  They said that my pregnancy test came back positive & that I was either pregnant or had cervical cancer.  To determine which, they took me into have an ultra sound done, there was in fact a mass in my tube on the right side & it was leaking.  This is very toxic & could have killed me.  They rushed me into emergency surgery where the tube was removed completely. 

This was devastating & something I still have a heavy heart about.  When deciding to get my tubes burnt, I specifically asked my OBGYN what the odds were of this happening & she said it was not something I had to worry about.  I suppose I should have searched the internet a little more to understand those odds. 

This is more common than the doctors want you to believe & it is very possible to get pregnant after having the procedure done.

So it is very possible to have a child after tubal. I have 5 children and I did the tubal because my husband wanted me to. I did too at the time but I think I am having second thoughts. Best of luck to you and your family. I would be happy eventhough having children takes a toll on your body it is a wonderful miracle.

i understand how u feel, i gave birth to twins september of 2011, and also had a tubal done at same time... well, needless to say i may be pregnant, and if so, i will NOT be happy about it. If i am in fact pregnant and its a normal prengancy, the baby would be due about a month before my twins turn 1. Not happy, and the most upseting thing is the possiblity of twins.... again

I had my tubes clamped 10 yrs ago and also have akll the same symptoms. My friend told me the accuracy is much less if having it done right after giving birth. My son was an hour old. I took a test but it said ned.
