I am a sixteen year old female and i am looking for answers. I have asthma, but my rescue inhaler isn't helping. its albuteral. i have been dizzy, my chest has been really tight, and shortness of breath and head pains always seem to follow. This has been occuring for a little over a month now. I am an athlete (pitcher, softball) and so this is becoming a huge issue. If anyone could help, that would be great

...that happens to everybody...I guess your young so maybe that's why you didn't know...Maybe you have a really really low pain tolerance...that is totally normal with the chest pain and the breathing...that is definitely why the doctor is dismissing it... lol xD

My daughter had similar symptoms at your age. They said it was too much caffeine. So she cut it out and still watches her intake and only has problems when she has too much of it.

I was explained to by my dr. Thst this was mild pleurisy, the alveloli in the lungs, (little thin membranes sacs where oxygen and carbon dioxide get exchanged) are itrritated...just like when you get a dry spot on your eye if you touch it or its dry and the lid touching it hurts,..the alveoli sacks will touch the sides of itself, (like a slightly deflated ball) and it hurts tremendously, knife-like and almost paralyzes the person with pain. If freaks the person out and you almost go into a panic, as you feel you will sufficate. When you relax and take tiny short deep breaths, (helping the sacs to reinflate) a deep breath would be quicker but unbearable I would think.

I have same issue had it for wen i was 12 years old and still got it been through loads of test nothing came up and now I'm 30 still having to go for test but docs tried to say it was to do with stress seen number of doctors and specialist no-one could tell me nothing and today just got back from hospital had a ECG done now wait for results but one doc told me i suffer from lack of oxygen in my blood so wen u lack oxygen ur heart has to work harder than normal thats why u get the pains and breathless cause ur body struggling to breathe which mean u could be asthmatic
