I would recommend Align probiotic. It seemed to help earlier this semester when I took it, but when I ran out, I just forgot about getting more and the abnormal stomach noises continued. I started taking it again 2 days ago and it already seems to help. Also, I would recommend eating a high carb, healthy lunch, such as a turkey sandwich. They are filling and apparently easy to digest. Hope this helps.
This isn't normal.. there has to be another way to do this. I'm currently in my early 20s and in university. For the first half of college I had this problem as well and some way or another I managed to get through it but it was not easy. I dreaded going to class every single day and whenever finals week came up I was horrified to be going through it. I'm pretty sure I have some gray hairs because of all the stress this is causing me. I've been do the doctor many times and even seen a stomach specialist a few times. At one point they found some sort of bacteria problem with my stomach and I took heavy antibiotics for it. The problem seemed to get less abrasive but it still continued which makes me think maybe there's something else I'm missing, maybe something with my diet. I no longer eat unhealthy, I try to exercise, I've completely cut milk and most dairy out of my system (I sometimes eat little amounts of cheese but not enough to cause this), I've stopped drinking soda, etc etc. Nothing.. the problem persists. Some days it's worse than others, some days it doesn't really bother me. The days when it doesn't bother me I look at them as heavenly. Someone shouldn't have to go through life only being in relief on a few random days every month it's just so wrong!
I also was diagnosed with acid reflux at one point. I'm not sure if that's true or not but I do often get discomfort right under my ribcage and that area is what causes a LOT of my stomach noise most of the time. When I have gas I try to take gas-x and it sometimes helps but this other noise emanating from my stomach can NOT be just gas.. I took antacid pills for a year or so in my life. I don't know if they helped or not, I would still get these bouts of stomach noise attacks every once in a while. I'm going crazy here.. I need an answer. I recently moved to a different country with my school to study abroad for the year and as if my worse nightmares have come true, classes here are much smaller in size, quieter (the teachers are generally soft spoken so the room is silent), the hours are longer, etc.. we also have to meet up with the teacher once a week for an hour to discuss lectures one on one and I cannot fathom sitting in a silent room with my teacher alone while all that is going on in my stomach. HELP! Whenever I'm in class I try to sit in the back rows (usually at one end or the other of the row) so I can have as few people as possible near me. This has caused some major setbacks in my schoolwork because it's generally harder to follow what the teacher is doing while sitting back there. In one class a teacher even commented on why I was sitting in the back. I was in shock! I was pleading in my head for him not to draw attention to me as I could feel my stomach begin to rumble and all eyes were on me. I was hoping he would just leave me alone.
If I could somehow solve this problem it would make my life 1,000,000 times easier without a doubt. I feel like I would generally have a better time in college and get better grades. I can't go the rest of the semester doing this.. and what's after that? Do I go and find a job and go through this hectic pain for the rest of my life? I'm on edge here. I don't know whether this problem is because of my diet, because of my digestion, or because of my acid levels. I can't tell.. I just want it to end. I really wish someone could find an answer.

well, I'm a female, 15 years old and I had this problem well over 2 years now.
it is so EMBARRASSING. ill be working in a quiet room in school and my stomach will just make heavy, loud noises.
and people will ask what it was to the people aroumd so I would just turn around & carry on, doing my work.
but recently its been getting SO bad. it starts at any time. but I know when its coming, I'll feel it in my lower stomach,
and then ill try to think of something to get up to do so that nobody will hear it. like sharpen a pencil, get a new pencil,
bathroom, get up to stretch from my seat. it seems its most loud when I'm sitting. but if I'm sitting next to someone,
they say the bench or chair is vibrating when my stomach makes the noises. and since I don't have an explanation,
since I don't know what it even is, I say it's my phone. :/
this is RUINING my life. I'm afraid to sit near my boyfriend & cuddle with him because I would just die of intense
embarrassment if he heard.
SOMEONE HELPPPP.
started having this problem when I turned 16 and it has gotten really bad and I looked up to see if anyone else had this problem to and on another message board someone recommed culturelle so i tried it and it help a lot. I have been using it for a few months and the problem is my body is starting to adjust to it so i have to take more. I only take them when I have to be in a quiet place. After reading this board I am going to use some of the sugestions (like cutting out sugar) i think eventually I will get to the point where the pills don't work at all so hopefully I can figure out the problem before then.
I'm 27 now and I've noticed the first time my stomach made that much noise was in 10th grade... I bought a salad ..like any other salad I've gotten before, and I felt like i was going to explode... I had this tightness in my digestive track, my digestive track was making so much noise !!! . It felt like i had someone pulling on my digestive track.. I felt like i had to go to the bathroom #2..bad... and i had crazy gas... I couldn't sit still in the classroom, i was soo embarassed... it never happend before and since then, i've had the same problem every day...
I can eat almost anything, and no matter what I eat, gluten free or sugar free, or carb free, or just carbs, i get the same feeling...it's even worse when i just have soup or salad alone... i get even more bloated... So finally, when i had enough courage, i went to my PCP and he referred me to a Gastrointerologist... It was somewhat of an unpleasant experience...
He had to check to see if i had any blood in my rectum...so they stick a finger (with gloves on) in your butt...it's pretty gross... and he listens to your stomach/intestines... he told me it sounded like frogs were having a party in there... and he said it looked like i had IBS (Irritable Bowl Syndrome) .... My Grandmom and DAd both have the same problem, so I definitely know its hereditary... it sucks...
I told him it bothered me so much, .... and I don't get constipated really, it's the opposite, i have we stools... and very smelly farts, for the most part... and i eat healthy.... i dont eat junk food, or chips or fast food... my mom cooks healthy and i buy healthy produce.... and i can't restrict myself from not eating something i like, i want to be able to eat it when i crave it...
He referred me to do a sigmoidoscopy (half of your color) and an endoscopy... my results came back negative for anything...i was told i did have a lot of secretions in my colon ... my body just produces a lot of that and my stomach spasms are so intense, that the only thing that would help to regulate that crazy flipping in my digestive track is HYOSCYMAINE.
THESE PILLS saved my life...... literally.... do some research on it.... ask your doctor about it ... I don't have any allergies really to any medication so i was fine with taking it.... you take it 30 min before you eat your breakfast....and u can have milk and soup and still be ok..your stomach will not make any nose and you will not feel the kicks in there at all......
The only downside of that pill is DEHYDRATION. It makes me a little dizzy sometimes and blurry.... you have to drink a lot of water ! A LOT! the pill decreased my stomach spasms and made it regular.... i dont sweat as much also! ....
When I don't take one of those, my stomach goes back to normal... when i do, i forget I even have those problems.... its amazing... ask your doc !!
2. He may put you on HYOSCYMAINE - these pills saved my life.... ASK YOUR DOC ABOUT IT...AND DO SOME RESEARCH ON THEM...
:)
Hyoscyamine(hye oh sye' a meen)
Last Revision: September 1, 2010.
Hyoscyamine is used to control symptoms associated with disorders of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It works by decreasing the motion of the stomach and intestines and the secretion of stomach fluids, including acid. Hyoscyamine is also used in the treatment of bladder spasms, peptic ulcer disease, diverticulitis, colic, irritable bowel syndrome, cystitis, and pancreatitis. Hyoscyamine may also be used to treat certain heart conditions, to control the symptoms of Parkinson's disease and rhinitis (runny nose), and to reduce excess saliva production.
Before taking hyoscyamine,
tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to hyoscyamine, any other medications, or any of the ingredients in hyoscyamine tablets, capsules, or liquid. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for a list of the ingredients.
be aware that antacids may interfere with hyoscyamine, making it less effective. Take hyoscyamine 1 hour before or 2 hours after antacids.
tell your doctor if you have or have ever had glaucoma; heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease; a urinary tract or intestinal obstruction; an enlarged prostate; ulcerative colitis; or myasthenia gravis.
tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant while taking hyoscyamine, call your doctor.
talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of taking hyoscyamine if you are 65 years of age or older. Older adults should not usually take hyoscyamine because it is not as safe and may not be as effective as other medications that can be used to treat the same condition.
if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you take hyoscyamine.
you should know that this medication may make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know how hyoscyamine affects you.
ask your doctor about the safe use of alcohol during your treatment with hyoscyamine. Alcohol can make the side effects of this medication worse.
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, continue your normal diet.
Hyoscyamine may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
drowsiness
dizziness or lightheadedness
headache
blurred vision
flushing (feeling of warmth)
dry mouth
constipation
difficulty urinating
increased sensitivity to light
Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
diarrhea
skin rash
eye pain
fast or irregular heartbeat
Hyoscyamine may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while you are taking this medication.
If you experience a serious side effect, you or your doctor may send a report to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program online [at http://www.fda.gov/Safety/MedWatch] or by phone [1-800-332-1088].
