I have been experiencing this on and off for many years. I have become so afraid of being in quiet places, in meetings, working one on one with people beacuse I never know when my stomach is going to start making REALLY LOUD noises!
I am trying WHOLY TEA after having tried everything else with no relief.

People please please please TRY BLOOD TYPE DIET. You don't need chemicals to cure you, they just won't. Google "blood type diet" if you want all those stupid intestinal noises that won't let you live normally to disappear, if you want to forget about gas and constipation. I did it and here I am healthy again, not scared to be in a quiet room with my bf, not afraid to sleep over. stop trying your doctors, they are very not competent nowadays. stick to the food that is allowed for your blood type and your problems will be gone in a couple of days!

I know this is not a real cure but a quick fix for me has been to take immodium before a meeting or training seminar. It seems to keep my stomach still and quiet for the most part. Also avoiding certain foods/drinks like coffee, champagne, sparkling water, pasta, fish helps a bit too.
I forgot to mention that I spoke with my acupuncturist about it who said that acupuncture and specifically working on the liver would be very helpful. She also highly recommended a book called "The amazing liver and gallbladder flush" by Andreas Moritz.
Not sure about the Immodium - I think it is better to have an empty bowel rather than a plugged up one! :-) I find that anything cathartic helps, plus excercise, and lots of water, to help the body to expel waste works best for me. This is most effective if done in the AM.

I thought I was the only one, and I've been too embarrassed to tell anyone about this, it's not a problem when I'm outside or in a noisy place but when I'm in school and the class is silent I have to cough or drop something loudly. I find that my belly makes noises more when I'm nervous but it's hard not be when your in a silent room and you know your belly's going to start making noises! I'm only 16 and there's nothing wrong with me, I'm normal height and weight so I can;t think what causes this. It's just so inconvenient and I have exams soon, in a big silent room :$

If in your country is available breath test for H.Pylori please get it done. It's non invasible, no pain, all you need to do is dring some medication (urea which naturaly produces in your body) and than breathe to CO2 meter. This test trusness is about 90-96%. If someone get it done,this may be answer for as all.

OMG i feel the same as yall, i really didn't know there was so many people like me, now i'm relieved.
I'm a student and each class i attend is a real trial, hardship to me. I'm always lookin' for tricks to avoid these sounds or cover it, but it's difficult in everyday life. It has often made me cry when i was alone at home, i felt different from the others, and i'm too shy to talk about it to a friend or a doctor. The problem is, my life is filled with quiet situations: classes, church, etc. But the worst for me is when i imagine my life when i'll be married. I've had boyfriends in the past, but i didn't live with 'em 24h/week, so they didn't really notice the sounds. But when i'll be a married woman, my husband will be with me everyday, in my bed, in the same room etc. It really stresses me out.
I don't know if you feel the same but the best place for me to 'shelter' when i'm havin' a stomach noises crisis is the toilet. I think most of our belly sounds are due to the fact that there are faeces in the body, or air. But it is quite awkward to go to toilet very often because people might think you have diarrhea or something else.
My solution is to try to:
Stay as much as possible outside
Cover well your belly by clothes, coz the cold on your stomach affects your intestine
Walk or run or do some exercise as much as possible
Stay standing the most possible coz for me i don't feel that much the rumbling when i'm standing rather than sitting
Go to toilet as soon as you feel the need to go
Don't wear jeans or trousers or skirts that are too tight at the level of the waist, it worsens it a lot!
Relax, talk and enjoy everything to prevent you from thinking 'bout it
Discreetly fart or blurp when you feel the need to do it and when it's possible of course
Massage your stomach and your back towards the bottom when you are trying to evacuate stools
Don't chew gums or drink fizzy sodas,
Don't swallow to much air, keep your mouth closed the most possible except to blurp
Eat little and slowly
Breathe deeply with your nose

I can relate to A LOT of what other people have said in this thread. I'm in my early 20s and fairly skinny, problems started probably about a year ago. For me, it's about 1-2 hours after lunch my stomach gets going. Some days not so much, other days its worse. And just like others have posted, quiet and/or stressful situations definitely makes it much worse. I'm a student so I have written plenty of exams. Before the problems started I could focus on the exams and I usually would spend the given time, now I just stress through them hoping to get an E.
Something that has calmed my stomached during the morning/pre-lunch, is to skip any white bread at breakfast. I only have water and some oatmeal. I feel bad for those experiencing troubles in their early teens, that period of life is tough enough as it is.

I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE(tear :'(.......i have had this stomach rumbling/whining /making noise etc. for almost 5 years now(im 22 years old now). i have become extremely clostrophobic because of this "stomach noise". i was diagnosed with H Pylori virus and chronic gastritis about 2 years ago and took medicine but am STILL suffering from this. IT REALLY IS RUNNING MY LIFE!!. i almost did not finish high school and it was impossible for me to continue to COLLEGE because i could not be in a quiet room, it causes me to become EXTREMELY anxious!.. somedays i just feel so depressed because i cannot have normal relationships with people for fear that my stomach will go balistic! HOW REDICULOUS! i would have never thought that my life would end up like this considering the outgoing person i used to be with plenty of friend.. is there any hope for us CAN DOCTORS EVEN HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM??????....... :'( :'( :'( :'(

I had the same problems and I thank God he has given me a to deal with it.
My recommendations:
1) go to your doctor and tell him/her about the problem. Do not be shy. I went to a Gastroentorologist and (just as I predicted after doing my own research) he said more than likely I have IBS, he scheduled a Colonoscopy to rule out other things. I asked him for Symax (which used to help a little bit before, I had went to a doctors years back and they prescribed me that) and he prescribed me Hyoscyamine. Hyoscyamine has really helped me. I take one in the morning (because I have a morning class) and it STOPS my digestive system. it kind of put it to sleep so no noise happens at all. I also take it before I have meetings, go to the movies, etc. But dont take more than 2 per day if you are successful in being prescribed Hyoscyamine.
2) In the morning my breakfast consists of toasted bread with Peanut Butter and Jelly, along with CHAMOMILE TEA. I used 2 bags on my cup of tea. Trust me, this has done wonders for me.
3) Last but not least, I take Align, I have tried many probiotics and this one has been the most effective. The Gastroentorologist recommended me this as well. Take one every morning without missing a dose. In a matter of days you will notice the difference, you will go to the bathroom less often than before.
Other tips, do number 2 whenever you feel like you need to, pass gas whenever you feel like you need to as well (outside or in the restroom of course, or while you're driving to your meeting/class/church/movies assuming you're alone in the car). And also, pray to a higher power that they help you get over this problem as well. Trust me, it helps.

for instance, when you are in the class or in the meeting it is so ambarasing when your stomach starts making noise without reason... and everybody looked you ups and you smile say ``excuse me it was my stomach it was not me :$ ``
its a dragic comedic situation.
In my opinion its all about food&drink what we eat&drink , how we eat
we eat different types of foods mixed up everything in someways it is not good for health, causes, when food is not cooked very well too much milk, onion,

Omg! I am NOT alone! You guys have no idea how releived I am to have found this website! I'm a sophmore in highschool 15 years old and I've had this problem since highschool started. I think it happened becuase I really let myself go over the summer I wud eat late and eat a lot of junk food and I didn't exercise at all so that could be it or hereditery. So my problem has gotten worse and I was starting to get scared cause I felt like such a freak like I'm the only person who has this problem so I went to the doctor and she said I was lactose intolerant so I cut off lactose and any other dairy product I even bought lactais it helped the first two days then the same thing again then I did some research online and I thouight I had IBS I have all the symptoms cramping bloating gas constapation and diarreah. I am gonna try some of the suggestions and I hope they work. I know exactly how you all feel I cried when I read some post because I know how emberassing and uncomfetable it can be! I hate school I have a problem with my absences I've even considered homeschooling. I start school in like 4 days and I am freaked out! I dnt wanna sit in a quiet room full of ppl that I have to see everyday for the next year and I have exams coming up! Its so frusterating I just want to be normal and be able to sit in a quiet room with someone with no worries or go out with a guy and not have to worry if there's gonna be silence. I do notice that in class when I get nervouse the stomach noises get worse! I try to calm myself down just relax and sometimes it does help. I gotta say though that I am desperate fer a cure. I just want it gone! I used to be so carefree and outgoing and fun but this totally ruined the best years of my life which is highschool! I feel all yer pain you guys I'm right there with ya! I know also how hard it can be to tell someone because they dnt understand how it can be! They see it as nothing! But I showed my family this website and they were waay.
