I considered ablation and decided on laporoscopic hysterectomy - I was glad I did as it turned out I did have adenomyosis which is not treatable by ablation. I have light bleeding and spotting two months after hysterectomy but nothing even requiring protection, really.

I had an ablation done about a month ago. I was bleeding at first & then it was barely anything or as the doctor called it, "discharge". The doctor told me as long as there was no discharge, I could have sex with my husband. He did not tell me to wait 4 weeks like I see alot of women were told on this site. Now I'm bleeding heavily & not sure why. I don't know if I messed up something. Anyone else experience this??

I had the procedure done nine weeks ago.  I had discharge for 6 weeks which my doctor said was normal.  I am on my third period 21 day cycle and still heavy bleeding lasting 10 days.  I am very disappointed so far.  I was told it would take up to 90 days to see if the surgery worked.

I am wondering how many women DID NOT wait 3 to 4 weeks after the procedure to have sex. I waited just one week even though my OBGYN said to wait 3 and it seems the discharge and cramps have increased. Its been almost 3 weeks since I had my procedure done. Tomorrow I see my OBGYN and I will ask for a antibiotic for bacteria just in case. I feel my uterus is still healing but the sex isn't making it easy for my body to heal fast.

I am 41 years old and had an ablation, d&c and laperoscopy done 2 weeks ago. I am still having discharge, cramps & passing lots of "tissue". I was never told about the tissue. My Dr. said that I could have sex after 2 weeks but yuck! During the laperoscopy they found I am loaded with endomitiosis and it has adhered to my bowel, has anyone out there experienced this? I really didnt want to have a hystrectomy but I'm thinking I may have to. I have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks, I hope this discharge & passing of tissue will stop soon I feel gross and am raw from wearing pads & liners!

I am 50 years old and had an endometrial ablation on June 25, 2012.  It has been almost three months ~ I am still spotting or bleeding DAILY.  Some days I have hard cramping that motrin or tylenol doesn't  help.  I'm not crazy about the daily spotting / bleeding, but it is less then the heavy periods I experienced prior.  Is this normal ????  What is my next step?  I go back for my 4 month post-op the end of October, but that is still a month away.

I had the ablation 7 weeks ago and am still spotting & cramping on a daily basis. I have also had 2 periods since that lasted 11 days. Unfortunately for me it didnt work and will be meeting with a specialist next week to discuss a full hystorectomy. I would definately call your Dr. I called mine and we tried the pill non-stop (no non-pill week), it should have worked but unfortunately it didnt maybe you will have better luck. Good Luck!

pill non-stop  what is the name of this pill, and actually what is it to do?

I'm pretty sure donnarovedo was referring to the birth control pill without an off week. I'm not a candidate for that. So I will have to see what other options my doctor will have.

there is a pill out there not sure what it is that is supposed to stop your bleeding.. even a woman long time ago told me she was on it.? my dr said it to but he said it didn't work? when i go for my pap in nov im gonna ask him again what it is if it is a non birth control pill i might think on it..

Yes I was talking about the Birth Control Pill. I also, tried another pill before the ablation that was supposed to lighten the flow of heavy periods and that didnt work either (I can't remember the name of it, sorry.) When I had the ablation, I also had an edoscopy, and they discovered I am loaded with endometriosis, which is the cause of most of my issues. They cannot detect endometriosis on an ultrasound.....just something to think about.
