I had a thr after 3 failed to fix hip surgeries. I had my thr on Dec 14, 2012. Was in pain for a little bit then it started to get better. They sent me to p.t. 3 1/2 months after surgery... Then the real pain came. I have a HUGE KNOT in between my incisions. and the pain is 10 times worse than the pain I had b4. My ortho doc told me today "I fixed the problem you came to me for. this is a new problem" My reg doc tells me the ortho doc needs to address the problem n he says my reg doc needs to. Im in pain 24/7 and can not get help from anyone.
Omg that is awful what you been through . I'm post op 7 weeks for hip revision and suffering still from pain in groin and buttocks . Can't wait to see what my surgeon says as well .

I had both hips replaced, the left one last year and it went fine no problems at all the right was done in February of this year and it has given me lots of pain, when sitting it hurts really bad to stand and once standing I have to stand for a bit to start to walking and to bend over to stand up straight almost takes an act of congress have to rock to get to a standing position wish I never had it replaced
I had THP in March of 2014 and now I am having the same problem you had.
SOME NERVE IS PRESSED SEE NEUROLOGIST
I also have pain on the outside of the hip I had replaced. The surgeon has been telling me all along that I developed Bursitis in my leg and that is why. He said it was from sleeping on that side after surgery but I know 100% that I didn't sleep on that side. In the first place, it was too sore so I kept a pillow behind my back to keep me from rolling over.
I had a total hip replacement (left) in August this year, everything seemed ok for the first week but then my leg started to swell making physio virtually impossible. after 4 weeks my left leg started to turn red and burn, visited my gp who ruled out infection but did do ultrasound to dismiss DVT, all ok. 3 weeks later my left leg burning so much I had to sit with it in a bucket of ice and it was that week I had my 12 week post op consultation with my consultant and he queried as to why I was still using one crutch. I showed him the state of not just my left leg but it was in my right one too. He told me I would have to be referred to a colleague of his who specialised in vascular problems. I did see him and was admitted there and then and spent 6 days on the IV with antibiotics being pumped into me and was diagnosed with severe cellulitis and they were afraid it would spread to my new hip. Today, 6 weeks after being discharged from hospital my scar is very sore and raised towards the top and i can hardly touch it, there isnt any weeping of any sort or bleeding and there hasnt been since day one.. Someone told me today that it sounds as though I've got an infection in it, could this be the case? Has anyone else experienced these symptoms and if so what was the outcome?
I had a total hip replacement 4 months ago. I have sharp pain in my groin when I first stand up and start walking. After about 10 steps it gets better. Very frustrating. Any help as to what this could be is appreciated. My surgeon said for me to be patient for a year to year and a half. I just feel something is wrong.
I had hip replacement surgery 4 1/2 months ago. I have severe leg aching and nerve excruciating pain in my knee. ( all on the same side as my surgery. My incision ares is getting more tender and sore. The doctor took X-rays and said everything is fine. I know I'm not fine and that
something is not right. I'm not a complainer but the doctor is not listening. I'm getting worried and depressed. I too am gaining weight from lack of exercise

I had my second hip replacement in two years now both hips are done. The first one is it has no problems. But my second one has pain in it 4months later. It feels like a cramp or Charlie horse in it. and my foot swells up my the end of the day. Does anyone else have this.
no only in the groin area
Yes I had a lot of pain. I had the kind of pain that brought tears to my eyes every day for about 6 months. I have not spoke to my Dr. yet, but planon doing so today.
hi, i had my right hip done in march 2010 and it's been great, however i had my left hip replaced and i mean both total hip replacements, and since having the left hip done i am in more pain now than before i had my hip replaced, very painful on the scar and feeling of tenderness in the groin, lots of lower back pain but i do know i have severe arthritis in lumber region, i will be making an appointment to see my surgeon again and i will let you know .
Thank you for your positive story. I'm at 4 1/2 months and in a lot of pain. I'll keep the faith and see where I'm at at 8 months. All the best!
Before surgery I had a lot of pain in my groin & walked with a limp from it.. Afterwards, 4 months later I still have some pain in my leg & on the side of staples.. I think it's healing pain... Haven't called & been to dr's and don't go until 3/17, my 1 yr app't.. Had lifts in my opposite shoe but took them out hoping after this soreness & swelling my legs will be the same length... Good luck with yours... Just be tough.
