Oh my god! I had alternatives to not getting a surgery! If my doctor told me drinking was going to be a problem... I would have never gotten my surgery! Drinking is my happy place where I used to go whenever I was down! I cannot believe I cannot drink anymore! I hade the worst episode after drinking! I got fever and my heart was racing! I threw up and then passed out! I woke up with severe disorientation and a horrible spinning head! I thought it was becasue I was still recovering from my surgery but now I know this is for life! I'm going to miss drinking forever! This is a life change I cannot tolerate.

I find I can drink more after removal and although I do get drunk never really bad and do not get hangovers at all just a tired feeling ( which is probably from dancing til the early hours) I was looking this up to see if other people have the same but it seems people have the opposite problem

I've had mine out 14 years ago and suffered all those years, I had to stop alcohol altogether and only not drinking for about a month does the pain go away, I haven't drank for a couple af years know, but when I do have the occasional drink the pain comes back straight away, even with one glass, light beers on occasion, but best not to have anything, they ruin your life by getting them out unnecessarily, I had one small pollop, and they took my appendix and gallbladder of, nothing business Webber since.

It sounds like the pain you are having is not from gallbladder but from Pancreatitis. My doctor severely warned me that alcohol would be a key cause of the severe pain and nausea of pancreatitis if I continued to use alcohol. Most gallbladder patients experience some degree of pancreatitis - and the treatment for that is the removal of the gallbladder. So if you've found something you can drink, please do it on a moderate basis, or you might very easily end up in the ICU with pancreatitis. Can't live without the pancreatitis!

I was told that I need my gallbladder removed because of the big stone. they told me that I can't have fatty food and I also watch every thing I eat. basically low fat salmon and all that healthy stuff, however today I had a 1/2 glass of wine and now I am paying the price. I not sure if I want it out. what would you do? I just asked if you wish you didn't get your out? thanks Karen

My boyfriend and his gallbladder removed a couple years ago.
He was a heavy drinker or before his gallbladder removed but he's sort of back to his old ways he can drink about 18 shots of tequila normally every Saturday night and he has a couple shots during the week I know he drinks too much but there's nothing I can do I've tried everything my suggestion to you is you can drink but I would drink moderately because if you're not careful you can make your liver I can do I've tried everything my suggestion to you is you can drink but I would drink moderately because if you're not careful you can make your liver fail and then you have to go on dialysis which is not fun your life through that. I hope my boyfriend never gets to that point.
