I just had my gallbladder removed 2 days ago. I'am not anymore the same on eating. It's like your stomach have to tell you to stop eating, that's it! But i'm happy it means moderation on eating. Thank you for the information that Alcohol has a side effects after gallbladder surgery. I never tried to drink alcohol after the surgery. But I will try to see what's the effect on me. It's better to experiment so we know what's good or bad. And I will let you know. If it doesn't work for me, goodbye alcohol! I'll just have lifestyle changes. Life is too short. Lets be happy and live longer!

HI, My entire family have had their GB's removed none liver related and I have just had mine out too. Afterwards none of my family could drink at all, I dare not even try it; so we are all T total now :-(, I did so enjoy a drink too.

Since my gallbladder removal I get massive headaches from just a couple ounces of wine and horrible sharp pains (like a gallbladder attack) when I drink whiskey, I've never really been a drinker but once in a while would be nice.

I had my gallbladder out in June of 2015 and had a number of complications from the surgery. I used to like to stop at a local pub after work on Fridays to have a couple of beers with friends before heading home to dinner. I was told that doing so would not be a problem after the surgery was healed, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me, like so many others in this forum. It seems that some days I might be fine after a couple of beers over a period of several hours, but other times I cannot seem to tolerate a two beers in a two hour period of time. I don't get sick or hung over, but it seems that it "gets me drunk" quickly--but it only lasts for short period of time too. I have had to get a ride home a couple of times after only a couple of beers because I didn't feel safe in driving myself.I am considering giving up alcohol altogether because of it.

Your stomach being torn up is probably the acid from oj, when your pregnant, your body changes in many ways, so try something that's not a like oj or other juice, and how is it that you had surgery while 7 months pregnant? Just curious, and was your baby alive then when they did that and why couldn't it have waited just 2 more months after birth?Hope you found out why it was stillborn, that would eat me alive not knowing why, sorry about your loss. And remember pregnant or not, your body constantly is changing, I'm 46, and experiencing all kinds of changes for 10 years now. You just gotta keep trying different things as you go along in life in order to adjust.

Omg that's so mean but funny, anyway, I've been drinking beer for 12 hours now to test out my non existent gall bladder, 5 days ago had it removed, and I hate beer, I'm a vodka girl, but not trying that yet, I haven't had any problems yet but I think it's because I've only had like 6-7 beers over the 12 hours, and no sleep, nothing like a good ole long drinking test on that missing organ lol.

Alcohol is undoubtably harmful for your liver and pancreas. From my prospective moderate alcohol consumption could be considered al least 6 mounts after galllader removal cause there are no reliable evidence form large randomized controlled trial if it could severely affect your digestive system. Even though you feel good after first drink ask your personal physician whether or not you are allowed to drink alcohol beverages

Guys this is pancreatitis next time it happens go to doc or ER they won't growl you, you are aloud a few. Ask them to test amelase and lypase. Both will only show for a short time around an attack.

I had my gall bladder out 3 weeks ago. I don't have pain from wine, but now I get extremely tired after just one glass whereas nothing else, including fatty food, has bothered me. I had 2 glasses last night around 6 and went right to sleep, not awakening for 11 hours whereas usually I sleep for 7 hours. I definitely think some people may be more sensitive to alcohol when you are sans gall bladder. The medical researchers need to address this.

Great forum, I had my GB out 7 months ago i'm 39 years old. After 2 episodes in A&E and 3 years of various problems i'm glad I got it removed, couldn't carry on eating chicken salads for the rest of my life.
It certainly takes time to work out your diet and the order of doing things. If I drink before eating i get acid reflux, but its fine once I have had food. I have had episodes of getting drunk very quickly, but had not given it much thought until reading this forum. Greasy foods are fine, but agree some discomfort can be felt from time to time. I visit the toilet most days 3 times, and on occasions it is diarrhoea but it comes and goes. The key is to make sure you have meat and veg in the house and try to keep things as healthy as possible, i take Taracyn, Lipozyme and milk thistle vitamins daily to help the liver.

I ain't drank in years. Like 12, I seen some cheap McCormick Whiskey drank a bottle in a few days. Like I didn't skip a beat, on the rocks, with coke, and tried Dr pepper. acid reflux I've had before, I had some and got some crackers and was fine. I've had my Gallbladder removed about 2 years ago. I eat spicy food, i like it and i may pay for it. But I'm stubborn. . Had what I call bile dumps. It will hit me hard and fast I got to go mostly anymore it's loose. I could go 3 days and not poop now it's at least once a day. I try to very my meals, baked fish, healthy stuff one day maybe 2 times one day then what I really want sometimes a sirloin, or a double cheese burger. I love Food. But I haven't always eaten salads and health foods. I eat more oat meal and microwave eggs for breakfast, Mcdonald breakfast tears me up. But now my triglycerides are elevated, I have had to have less sugars. I am going to die so I'm going to die Happy. I'm 34 and I won't get crazy but I won't suffer too bad. I was US Army, hurt at work. Can't run now. I have no disire to get back to long term drinking like I was but I think I will sneak me one or two. My family don't agree. With it. I'm will be smart with my meals and everything else. But don't worry be happy, good motyo. Sucks to not have a gallbladder but it sucked worse with gallstones the size of golf balls. I had 2 and some small ones. I've ate well before, I thought. Now I'm sick of trial and error. I get the diarrhea I'll take something. I want cheesy Greasy burgers I'll eat one maybe 2. I'll go to golden corral. . I will but I may not eat a large fry, or eat fried squash.
