Had my gall bladder removed a few years ago and I can still drink a few without issues. One night I drank to much and oh did I pay... 2 days later and I was still sick. So you just have to test your body out. I slowed my drinking down before I even had gall bladder pains. I enjoy mary jane as there is no hangover and I lost a lot of weight not drinking so much and the only time I'm sick is if I drink more then 5 drinks.

Hi, I recently had my Gallbladder removed and was worried about drinking alcohol after reading all of the negative experiences that have been posted here. I eased into it with one drink the first day, 2 the next, 3 doubles the day after with no issues. This passed weekend I went for a visit at a family member's and had a bunch of drinks while playing darts & cards, 2 nights in a row with no issues.

I'm recovering as I text this reply from 2 vodka drinks last night. I've been having the same issue you posted about... As I lay here looking for answers, I was coming to the conclusion, that I just can't drink anymore. I found your post. Maybe I'll give it one more shot trying somthing different. Thanks

Hi guys. I had an open surgery and my gall bladder removed toe months ago. I still on pain and my scar feels like is going to open any time even though it looks healthy. I’m a wine lover, and givIng myself some time before drinking again. I miss my wine very much, but I am afraid at the same time. A wine tasting festival a go to every year is around the corner

Hi Mobeth,
I had my gb removed 4 weeks ago. Have done fine with 1 vodka martini a night, maybe a glass of wine after. The other night I had 1 martini and 2-3 glasses of wine over a 4 hour period. By midnight I was reeling in pain (worse pain than when I had my gallstone attack) and started vomiting so much and so severely my husband took me to the ER. I was becoming delirious and my husband said I was acting like I was completely bombed. After multiple tests they found nothing wrong internally. The vomiting and pain continued so they gave me a morphine drip which finally stopped the pain. We did tell them about the drinks I had earlier. They didn’t seem concerned and didn’t think there was a connection to my gb surgery (

I was advised due to the fact a poor liver caused the gallstones in the first place to stop drinking, 18 years later....

I'm 39 (from New Orleans) so I've honestly been drinking since.. forever... I am a steady drinker, meaning I have a beer/glass o' wine or 2 about 3-4 days out of the week...nothing crazy. I had my GB out just over a month ago. I gave it a week or so after surgery but then continued my usual partaking ways thereafter. I have noticed -even after just 1 beer- that I will have a mild diarrhea episode the next morning. Yesterday was the first time since the surgery that I did actually drink in mild excess (it was first day of French Quarter Fest) and I am paying for it dearly today... but it was totally worth it!!
