Hello!

I had all three done four days ago. I was put under general anesthesia. Recovery isn't horrible, just some tolerable cramping. I have had little to no discharge. The worst part for me is the constipation and gas leaving my body. Best wishes to you! I'm hoping this surgery is an answer to my prayer.

I am writing this because there are so many negative replies on sites that I almost canceled my procedure. I had a D&C, tubal, and novasure ablation at the same time. I had it yesterday. I got a little nauseated after general anesthesia, but only stayed in recover an hour and half before going home. I had some pain in the evening and took a pain pill. I do not handle them well, so I refuse to take anything else and I am handling it fine. I took Ibuprofen this morning and this afternoon. I am sore and have slight pain in my incision site from the tubal. I have very little pink discharge. I do not think I would have any pain without the tubal. My ovaries and the incision are the only thing sore. I do have swelling in my abdomen, but overall, I am very pleased. I hope that it works and eliminates the heavy, painful periods.I hope this helps anyone that is making a decision. It is not as bad as all the remarks on different sites. I was prepared for the worst, and feel it was really nothing like they described.

Hi,
Glad to hear you're feeling great now. How long did the discharge last and did you have any vaginal odor not related to infection.

Thanks

I am glad I found this post --- I was thinking of canceling my procedures as well. Scheduled in 3 weeks -- hope my experience is the same as the above.

Yes I had both done in May 2016. Honestly right after surgery I had a little bit of discomfort in my abdomen area but I was up and about. The day after I was doing laundry and had absolutely no pain. Till today I haven't had any periods and I feel great.

I have just had the uterine ablation and tubes clamped. Very nauseous from the anaesthetic and also shoulder pain but now just over 48 hours on and although a little tender around the tummy I'm feeling good ... Years of heavy painful periods, bloating and PMS - surely it can only get better. As we never managed to conceive a second child in 15 years I thought I'd stop tormenting myself and get sterilised at the same time. I'm 43 now and don't really feel like starting again at this stage. Early days but I feel the right choice has been made ...

Had this procedure done about 4 weeks ago. Had it dons on a Friday and was back on my bike and rode 20 miles on Monday morning.
Had some tenderness near the laproscooic sites and at my belly button that subsided within a few days. Felt groggy for the day of sugary and day after due to general anesthesia. My belly was bloated for about a week or so. No period yet and I feel completely back to myself. Resumed sex with my husband within a week and no pain at all. Best part, no form of birth control needed! Very happy I decided to do this.

I had my procedure yesterday. Pain when I got home was bad. After I napped and rested I felt better. Today I feel like I did way too many sit-ups. Feeling decent. Bleeding for me isnt horrible. Good luck!!

I had mine yesterday too, and i have absolutely no pain, nor am I bleeding. The worst part was coming out of the anesthesia.

I had Uterine Ablation and Tubal Ligation Friday 6/9/17 and returned to work Monday. Surgery took 2 hours and 30 minutes due to the Dr. having to work around mesh from 2 hernia repairs I had done in 2000. Recovery time in the hospital was about 2 hours. They gave me 5 anti-nausea medications. 2 before surgery and 3 after.

I paired the prescription pain meds with liquid advil (per recommendation of my doctor). Pain was worse on day 3 & 4. Sleeping was a challenge. On day 3 I bought a "girdle" or compression garment to wear and THIS was a game changer! I was constantly holding my stomach in with my arm and a pillow to reduce pain while I cleared my throat, sneezed, or got up from the sitting position and this truly helped! It is day 5 now, pain is minimal. I am only taking Advil twice a day. I sleep with the compression garment, and plan to until the glue dissolves away.

No discharge. No odors. I still have constipation and bloating. I did have bad shoulder pains, only sleep helped me get through that.

As of right now I do not regret my decision to have the procedures done.

I had the procedure done a month ago and had pain in my shoulders of all places for almost a week. I've heard this is from the gas they blow you up with. I have been bleeding ever since the procedure. Not heavy but like day 3 or 4 period flow. Doctor said it could go up to 6 weeks. I'm feeling extremely annoyed. Anyone else have bleeding like that for so long?
