I too purchased pine nuts from Whole Foods, but in their bulk section, so I have no way of knowing where they came from. I had experienced the bitter taste a couple weeks ago, but never thought to attribute it to the pine nuts I ate. This second round is even worse, as I consumed handfuls of nuts this time.
I'll have to try some of the remedies listed above. On a positive note, this "syndrome" might be what I needed to break my soda addiction! :-D

Another victim here in Dallas TX, had a handful 3 days ago and immediately the next day started having a strong bitter taste after eating an apple and orange which I thought may had gone bad. Than lunch tasted horrible which is usually my favorite dish my girlfriend makes.
Had milk chocolate yesterday which I couldn't tolerate at all and I love chocolate.
Started getting really worried and found hits online about liver failure, gum disease, started trying to locate a dentist for an appointment until I found this thread.
I've been skipping many meals for the past few days because everything tastes so bad, will have to try peanut butter. I hope this goes away soon!

Same here
does anyone know how can we heal it... or what to do to get rid of it?
Oh wow. I had pine nuts for the first time in a couple of years just Monday at a deli and I've had the same bad taste like aspirin in the back of my mouth. Seems to get worse when I eat. Also had some stomach cramps. What is the deal? Are they tainted? Will this go away? Strange. Maybe we're all DOOMED!!!
I ate my pine nuts for breakfast (for several days, sadly) at the Hyatt in Cambridge Mass., and they were in a big jar so I don't know where they came from.
The pine nuts were different than the ones I used to eat in Israel - they were smaller and shaped like a teardrop (as mentioned here before).
I ate them raw, and they tasted fine - so I ate quite a few. My blood type is A+.
I agree with all the taste descriptions posted - aspirin that didn't go down, deodorant, similarity to grapes. I, too, have a sensitive tongue and mouth and am sensitive, for example, to walnuts and acidic foods (like tomatoes or vinegar) - but I continue to eat them, and will probably continue to eat pine nuts as well, just more carefully.
The effect was terrible enough for me to look it up only last night (I started eating the nuts on Wednesday and first noticed something on Thursday after going to the pool - I thought it was the chlorine or something. It is now Sunday morning) - after eating a nutella sandwich that tasted like the sandwich from hell. I woke up this morning and the bitter taste is still there - I am afraid to eat... I hope this will go away soon, as I really love to eat, and would hate to have to give it up...

I had all the same symptoms after eating pine nuts from China. They were sold in bulk at the local store as organic pine nuts. My symptoms lasted on and off for two weeks. Nausea, ears ringing, stomach hurting, digestive upset, slight headache and the nasty after taste in the back of the mouth after eating.
The bulk food distributor said the company from which they purchased the pine nuts would need a lot number (unfortunately the store threw away the original container) in order to trace the origin of the nuts but they did confirm that they were from China.
My nutritionist said that my description of what I was experiencing sounded like the symptoms of elevated mercury. A week later an unprovoked urine test confirmed that mercury in my urine was elevated 1.3 points above the normal reference range. I can not say for certain that the elevated mercury is from the pine nuts so I am sending them to the same lab to test for heavy metals. It will take two weeks to get the results.
One day after doing a detox at the spa I had an episode of intense salivation with a metallic taste which lasted half an hour. I am taking all the supplements to protect against mercury contamination. I will report back when I get the lab results.

I consumed some pine-nuts on Monday and Tuesday and started experiencing the bitter taste today (Wednesday). The pine-nuts were bought in the bulk food section and have been kept in the freezer for about 3 weeks. I remember being amazed at how expensive they were and now I am amazed at how wretched they are. Nothing tastes good today, except Juicy-Fruit gum.
So grateful that everyone shared their experience as I could not figure out what could possibly have triggered such a wierd symptom that was not accompanied by any other signs.

Another victim here in Denmark.
Please post if the bad taste has gone away and tell us how long we have to suffer!
I had pine nuts on Wednesday, bad taste started on Friday and just ate some metal bread with soap on it for breakfast, arrgghhh!

Grilled chicken tastes fine, as does lettuce.
Also found fresh pineapple okay.
At least we can eat something!

another victim here..
i put pine nuts in a salad weekend before last and had the bitter taste all last week. this past weekend, not realizing the culprit, i ate the rest of the pine nuts that were in the bag and today, the taste is so bad i can barely stand it. i finally googled my symptons and came across so much information about this pine nut issue. if only i had known!!
like lots of other people here, it seems to be worse when i eat flour based products... the first time i noticed the taste was when i ate a pretzel and it tasted so bad i spit it out , bread is awful, whole wheat tortillas - awful, crackers - awful. gum doesn't help me but fruit and proteins like turkey, chicken, etc are bearable. i really hope this doesn't last several weeks like some reports imply. it's just gross. i scrub my tongue after every meal and then gargle with mouthwash and that helps for a while but the minute i eat it's back in full force. it's SO WEIRD!

One more in the long line - Pine nuts from the second largest department store chain in FINLAND. Sold under their own brand.
Started suffering from this yesterday (I think). Actually I am not sure if I should even express my sensation as "taste", just feeling like the taste buds along the back and sides of the tongue are "firing Bitter like crazy", whenever I eat anything, and some time after.
Started Googling today and found this. Sounds crazy, but yes, I opened a new bag of Pine nuts a few days ago.

This is a bit freaky. I am in Australia, and I started getting a bitter taste in my mouth yesterday, especially when I eat anything. I hardly ever eat pine nuts but I made a pesto with them last week, it was about 10 days ago though. I used a whole packet from the supermarket. My husband ate it too, but he doesn't seem to have the bitter taste.
Yet another victim (in the Netherlands this time). I had a salad from AH (supermarket) with pine nuts in it. The weird taste is still here after 5 days, but it is definitely becoming less intense.
I (mostly) agree with earlier posts on what I can and cannot eat. I can eat salad, cucumber, tomatoes, (grilled) chicken, salt and pepper.
Fruit (apple, kiwi, nectarine, pineapple, orange) is pretty okay too (lucky me, I've read that other posters could not stand it).
Chewing gum and brushing my teeth helps to get rid of the taste.
Potatoes, bread, and probably more of the same kind of food tastes terrible.
I'm optimistic since the taste is already less bad after 5 days, rather than the often posted 2 weeks. Will post when it's completely gone (as long as I don't forget).
