ok, i have the same thing exactly. not hurting, just very discomforting.i'd like to start trying to collect data from everyone who's willing to, in order to find a pattern.
first, my health: i'm very thin. i eat a lot. doesn't make me fat. i probably have a fast metabolism. i'm sick once a year. i'm relatively in shape, i ride the bicycle everyday. sleep well. i had MRI test with nothing special to be worried about.emotionally: i tend to be bitter many times during the day, i feel very disappointed many times. i very often have a gut discomfort feeling due to pressure i mostly put on myself. i'm a musician and enjoy it endlessly, also i do other things. i'm never bored.
-----------------------------------------------------------
so, a few questions:1. do you share any of the characteristics i mentioned above?
2. do you tend (just like me), to eat one huge meal (3 times the amount your friends eat), being the first one you eat that day, relatively long after your lunch hour should be (in the evening)? and do you afterwards continue eating the other meals of the day with the same amount, and continue into the night?3. do you tend to go to sleep in the morning: 5,6, even 7 am?4. do you tend to swallow your food fast, and do it for many years, and therefore your body have adapted to this eating style, so that you don't choke although you sometimes "shovel" food in such amount that other people would chock (but you don't) hehehe?
i used to think i get this feeling out of toxic gas i used to inhale in my work. so i wonder if traffic pollution might be related to this also. or any kind of industrial food supplement.
in addition, please contact me via email if you want to farther explore this.
Funny I found this post because this stuff has been driving me crazy! This all started for me with a feeling in my lower right side, like when I flex my right oblique muscle...and I mean this has been going on for 7-8 years. Within the last year, I also have a slight burning/swelling just to the right of my sternum, and maybe an inch down. It feels "prickly" when irritated, a bit tender, and really annoying. It usually doesn't hurt, but a couple of weeks ago, I got about 7-8 sharp stabbing pains when I tried to inhale. I feel it there all the time, but sitting and leaning back seem to make it more noticeable. I also play ice hockey twice a week or more (for the past 12 years), work out in the gym, etc. I am not worn down, and I have no major health problems outside of some high blood pressure. I have had a CT scan, blood work, physical exams, barium swallow to check throat and stomach (found acid reflux) and now I am scheduled for an upper GI endoscopy and an ultrasound of my gallbladder next week. My doctor is starting to think I am crazy, because he keeps telling me nothing in my tests indicate I have a problem...no weight loss, no nausea, no loss of appetite, no vomiting, no fever or chills, no blood markers off, etc. I have had some cancers in my family, so I am a bit sensitive to this nagging, drawn out issue,.
I think many of the people on this site may have a gallbladder issue and needs to have it removed. In October 2012, I began to feel uncomfortable while sitting-- under and behind my right lower rib. I went to the doctor for the flu and told them of my symptoms which besides the uncomfortable feeling included a pain in the middle of my back on the right side and sometimes radiating up to my right shoulder blade. In December 2012 I went back to doctor and let them know something was not right. They did a blood test and found my lipase level was slightly elevated (which can be a pancreas or gallbladder issue). They asked me to repeat the blood test in a week which I did and the level had escalated a bit more. They then gave me the choice of doing an ultrasound which I did. The report came back stating that the bile in the GB looked thick and vicous. I was referred to a surgeon that told me I could see if it got better or have the GB removed. I asked him the possibility of this getting better and he stated it would probably not. I had the GB removed yesterday and my back pain has disappeared and the rock I felt like I had under my rib is gone. I had no real pain other than the back which I kept attributing to working at a computer and the uncomfortable feeling while sitting. I was very uncomfortable laying on my left side - felt like something pushing on my side. My surgeon also pushed on the area directly below my breastbone between my ribs and was an uncomfortable feeling...he stated that the tendons attached to the GB were forcing my liver down on it and that was an indication of a problem. When he removed the GB he said that it was 'ugly' with a thick vicous gray matter and definitely needed to be removed. I am a 43 year old woman, not overweight, very active and healthy otherwise so was surprised that I had a GB problem but am very happy I decided to have it removed. I did have to be my own advocate as I was not experiencing the horrible pain that most people have - but I believe people ignore the odd symptoms until they have an acute attack. I did a lot of searching on the web while this was going on and found nothing helpful so I hope this helps you all research your problem closer. By the way the only other thing I noticed when I was sitting I found myself holding my breath as I believe it was more uncomfortable than just regularly breathing. Good luck.
Hi , I am having the same problem as all of you others had described. My Doctor thought it was gallbladder , but that has come back clear. I am still waiting for results of other tests. I would like to ask all the other sufferers if they drink diet drinks ? I am wondering if my problem has anything to do with years of consuming aspartamine, and would be very interested to know if anyone else drinks the stuff :O(I)
Hi, this advice is for the men. Avoid keeping your wallet in your back pocket. Those with a desk job, especially. Try for a week and see if it helps.
troubled with same thing for awhile, then diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I thought it was related to indigestion! Don't wait, get it , your pancreas, checked out.

had same pain for awhile. thought it something to do with indigestion as well. later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. worth checking out. pancreatic cancer kills cuz it goes undetected.
Just had a CAT scan for this same problem......pain on the upper right side under rib when bending over. Results-fatty liver.
Turns out in my case to be a blockage and spasming of the bile duct. This was given away by raised bilirubin, lipase, and a couple other minor levels.
In so glad I continued to pursue the issue even after one doc basically said its muscular and I should take anti inflammatories which was ridiculous considering two before her did not think it was my muscles.
Anyways I just wanted to say if it feels wrong u know ur body. Investigate till u find the cause don't just try treat the symptoms
I have a weird feeling under my right side that feels like an organ is moving. I have to lay down to make it feel right. If I press on my ribcage it is now tender. It happens when I tie my shoes or move in a different way?
I have the same symptoms but my gall bladder was recently removed (March 2013). I have been having this sensation for over a year. It feels like something is popping out of my right side, just beneath my rib cage and not only is it painful, it's bizarre! I thought that getting my gall bladder removed would fix it. I started working out today and the strange sensation is back. I don't understand it. I have gone to doctors in the past who say they can't feel a hernia or anything that could be wrong. I'm scared that this will mess up my whole honeymoon (September). I am going to return to my work out and focus on LIGHT abdominal work-outs to see if that helps. I have also changed my diet (I'm juice-fasting for 3 days) and I'm going to increase my calcium intake because I've heard that calcium helps prevent charlie horses which is what the sensation reminds me of at times. I will try to follow up on this post as I go to let you know if I have made any progress with it. I'm also going to schedule an emergency Dr. appt with my new physician to see if he will be the one to take this seriously!!! Too many people have this pain - it needs to be identified and treated already! xoxo RadGirl
