Why doesn't he do Kegel muscle exercises. They helped me a lot after my green light laser surgery

Hi everyone, I'm 49 years old and I had a Greenlight surgery about 11 weeks ago. The procedure was done under general anesthesia, and I was sent home with a catheter the same day. The catheter was removed about two days later.
The first several days were quite painful, but I was able to urinate. Within the next two weeks I started to feel better and the stream kept improving. I was told to stay away from any kind of sexual activity for 3 weeks and i did just that. Interestingly enough, the first time i had sex with my wife I was able to ejaculate normally and there was about normal amount of sperm, but that was the only time and ever since then I have retrograde ejaculation. BTW, are you supposed to see the sperm in your urine if you urinate right after sex? I don't see anything.

So after about 4 weeks something went wrong and the pain came back: Burning in the tip of the penis, frequent urge to urinate, discomfort in the area of the prostate. My urologist told me that because of few UTI's i developed prostititis and prescribed 3 weeks of antibiotics. I was done with antibiotics about 10 days ego and although the burning went away, i still have occasional discomfort and difficulty urinating. What is frustrating is that it comes and goes. At times i can urinate like nothing ever happened, but other times it feels like my prostate is inflamed and i have very weak stream. Anyone else had anything similar?

I wasn't able to pee a day after the dr removed the catheter. He told me to come to his office immediately and reinserted the catheter (which was not fun). Evidently some blood was clotting and prohibited the urine to pass.

All in all I was suffering for close two two month after the surgery, but now I feel much better. I can urinate without any problems and always sleep through the night. Retrograde ejaculation still remains and I am not happy about that. In my case the 3 weeks of antibiotics helped, but the pain and discomfort didn't go away for few more weeks after I finished the antibiotics. My doctor said if the Antibiotics wouldn't help, he would direct me to an infectious disease specialist, but luckily it didn't come to that. I've read that in some cases a longer course of antibiotics may be needed. Hope this helps...

I had the holep procedure done 8 days ago. The flow increased about 5 times. Catheter was removed after 3 days. bleeding stopped after 5. I have been a bit too active so there is still some pain and some swelling. Biggest issue is you have to wear something as when you have to go you have to go. and it just starts gushing. I am starting to get control of that after 8 days.

HI, and your Prostate will probably Thank You! : )

differently.

After reading about all the complications with the GL, I'm having second thoughts about it. Flomax works pretty good right now although i find it is difficult peeing when I wake up in the morning. I usually have to get up 1-3 times a night to pee depending on how much beer I drink. SO... i'm wondering .... why the heck do i need most of my prostate? At 57 & no more kids happening, WHY can't a surgeon just remove MOST of the prostate and leave only that which is required for sex? Is that possible? Just asking.....

I am 6 weeks post PVP and am still having urinary tract pain. Doc put me on high doses of Ibuprophen for inflammation but so far this hasn't worked. He also put me back on Phenazopyridine for the symptoms...this isn't working either. Has anyone else experienced this type of pain for this long?

The video looks worse than it was.......Just don't look. I had the procedure on December 1st 2016. For me it was done is stages of 3's. (3 hours, 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months). From the time I showed up at the hospital, it took about 3 hours and I was ready to go home. I had a catheter for 3 days, that was the worst part, but not real bad. Was sure it would hurt to have it removed but it was not so bad. Had to ware depends for 3 days to deal with any leakage, but all was minor. 3 weeks later I had my post op checkup, which consisted of a ultrasound to make sure my bladder was empting, which it was. Next visit in 3 months. I'm 65 years old and I have had enlarged prostate (BPH) for several years and was on flowmax. The flowmax was not working as well as it should and the doctor recommended GreenLight Laser treatment. I can say the procedure was a 100% success. My urine flow is so strong now, I have to hold myself down or I will pee all over the toilet. No adverse affect for an erection and no ejaculate going inside. I would highly recommend the procedure for anyone.
