the depression is not from accutane! it's the pill!
I am a 15 year old male who is coming up to the conclusion of 1st month. My initial breakout was bad, but I just stayed indoors for the first 7 days and didn't go out (you could say I was showing signs of depression) since then my skin has reasonably cleared up. Although I can't exactly see how much better it is, other people seem to think my skin has dramatically cleared up. Either was I came into it having very severe acne and now I would call it moderate-severe acne. Symptoms are lots of nose bleeds, chapped lips and dandruff for me which is weird but expected.
I took Accutane over 20 years ago. My oldest daughter was conceive a year after taking this - she is slow. My next daughter had a brain tumor and has epilepsy , my son has ADHD. If I found out that taking this drug for vanity purposes caused these issues with my children, I would suck on a bullet. Too many risks and not enough research. Really think about this poisonous drug!
Hi I just wanted to flag that you should be careful what antibiotic you are on if you're taking Accutane since it has side effects with the anitbiotics you take specifically for the skin. I was on Dyoxcycline and then tried Lymecycline before eventually turning to Accutane as a last resort. I had to come off the antibiotics for 24hrs at least before starting Accutane, as instructed by my dermatologist. Might be different for you but just to let you know. I am on my first week too so not much to report!
HAHAAH IT shall.mine is worse too..1st month.but my dermatologist explained that first month i may get worse but thats the healing process
How did you find the 20 mg if accutane for acne rosacea? This is also what I have and am just finishing Week one.
Did you feel any pain when you did this? I wanna go on it but im scared too.
I just came across this post and I sure hope you didn't give up! I'm on accutane now 40 mg and I'm in week 3 about to begin week 4 and I, like you, feel so down and embarrassed that I don't even want to leave the house. I understand what you are going through but I have been reading so many positive posts about people that stayed the course and made it through the treatment and now have clear skin. I wish that is you and will be me soon too! I hope you survived the worse part of IB and is here to tell the story.
I started Accutane about 20 days ago. From the second I took the first pill to the very second I'm writing this message....my acne has gotten about twice as better. The results are unbelievable and the best part is the only side effect I'm getting as of right now is dry lips. This drug is truly a miracle drug. Anyone that states that this medication causes more harm than good is hallucinating and blowing it out of proportion.
I started just two weeks and my jaw line my eyebrows and cheeks all broke out all at ounce, right now i woke up to 2 very big nasty huge on each side of my chin, I just hope my face gets way better than this.
