Hey I have Bell's palsy too and it's been almost 2 and half months and I have recovered only about 30 to 40% but the recovery is slow. I hope I get back to normal asap.

I have had it for 6 years. My doctor told me it should last around 3 months. Isn't science great? Every time I try to whistle I drool myself!

I'm upset , disappointed and angry all at once. I have Bell's palsy and have had it since March if 2015. By June my face seems to have gotten "Normal" again but recently I've noticed when I yawn my right eye will close shut rather than both eyes together ( I got bells on my right side) and every time I drink something from my favorite cup with s starw I feel a twitching sensation in my right eye! This is totally unfair I'm a teenage girl and already have self esteem issues , this bells Oakley has made everything worse and made junior year one if the most embarrassing. I wish I never got it bc it ruined my teenage years and now I need to live like a freak forever!

Steroid treatment can improve chances of a full recovery because it helps to reduce inflammation. However, the recovery time varies between individuals and will depend on the amount of nerve damage.

We would like to suggest your simple home remedies for bell's palsy

1.   Facial Exercise to tighten your facial muscles

2.   Faceial message with oil and cream

3.   Wear an Eye patch while sleeping & wear eye glasses rest of the time

Bell's palsy in the majority of patients resolved in 3-12 months. 85% will have complete recovery. 15% will have some residual facial muscle movement issues. You should definitely be in touch with your doctor to make sure that you have no other potential causes for facial paralysis.

I hate when people say "suck it up" when someone is having a difficult time dealing with something. It is extremely insensitive and borderline barbaric! You are not her and she isn't you! Everyone doesn't handle pain or hardship the same way. Try to be a little more empathetic and understanding and give your advice from a place of consideration and love. You sound like you didn't get enough hugs growing up and your parents threw you to the wolves and forced you to suck it up and survive!
