I also have Fordyce spots. This is quite a popular thread seeing as a mere 85 - 90% of men have this condition. I am wondering just one simple thing, is there any over the counter lotions that you can apply to fordyce spots to drastically reduce the visibility without scarring or harming the skin around the penis? I would much rather have these spots than visibly irritated penal skin, and I think most would agree. thank you to anyone who can help me.

I've had these as long as I can remember.  Faced the same fears but over the years saw no change and only in recent years (10 years after becoming sexually active) did I have my girlfriend notice them. "Those funny hair follicles,"  was all she ever said.  Interesting to know what it is.

I got jock itch recently and was treating it with an antifungal.  It actually removed all of the ones on my scrotum after a week of use.  The shaft still has a ring of them but everywhere else they are gone (not to say they wont return with the end of the treatment).  Attempting to apply the same treatment higher up has been difficult due to it rubbing off while working (I stand all day).

Either way that may be of interest to some of you.  I would guess that it is the dry conditions the antifungal power spray causes that help remove them more than anything.  It also causes some peeling (though none was where they were removed from).

Odds are this wont help you forever but its something.

Doesn't metter if I get a reply, the pic that I clicked on to get onto this thread, was of a penis with genital warts, Fordyce spots are not red and infected looking.

I'm not trying to sound crazy but I cut them off. I use rubbing alcohol 99% to clean my hands, penis, and a pair of toenail clippers. You have to have pretty good eye sight to make sure you dont grab skin beyond the bump. Do it slowely, it does hurt, and you do bleed a little but it heals in a week or less if done right. use neosporine(sp?) as well as an anti scarring cream as a follow up and they really do go away.  I have done this maybe 20 plus times with great success. Oh yeah make sure and dont fap off with things like vasoline idk why but I think it clogs your pores and doesnt help the situation.

Hey guys,

From my experience is doesn't matter at all. I went to the doctors when I was about 15 as didn't know what the hell they were and wanted to make sure my penis wasn't going to fall off. I was told by the doc they were perfectly normal.

That was the last I thought about it, didn't know it had a name until I was just clicking around on this site or that it was so common. For the younger guys don't worry I'm now 32 and I've been with 50+ girls over the years including 4 serious relationships in all that time only 2 girls ever asked about it. My response *I looked them deep in the eyes* and said "it's just special bobbly skin for your pleasure most guys have it, you're lucky cos it's going to feel extra awesome inside you..." that was that game on!

I've even had a few girls comment on how nice "those little bumps feel".. Come on let's face it a penis is not a thing of beauty in the best of cases it's there to do a job not be admired like a piece of fine art. If this apparently affects 90% of guys to some extent chances are a girl will have seen it at some point before and surley 90% to NOT have it seems more abnormal.

Trust me don't worry be confident and proud of who you are you'll be fine..

Peace!

i have this to, but not on my lips, not yet neways. but i also have another symptom that i did not c in the other posts, wat about the scabing and peeling, is that normal, or just for the fordyce spots, or do i also have somthing else. i have not been sexually active, other than the ejacutlations.

and also i kon that most ppl who r looking this up, probibly have other issues. liek a curved penis, just to state, this is perfectly normal its coman and is not a disease, although there is a disease assotiated with it.

I have had fordyce spots for years and my advice is just ignore them. Be happy you don' t have herpes or a real STD. Honestly I haven't been with a girl who has ever said a word about it and i've slept with over 50 women. Always always always wear a condom and save the hardcore creams and doctor visits for something serious.

Similar story, they turned up when I was about 12 or 13, after they didn't go away I plucked up the courage to go to the doctor and he shrugged it off like I'd come in with a sore throat. This made me really mad at first, but after I thought about it for a little while it was kind of reassuring, he basically said it wasn't an STI and it was very common, you just don't hear about it much.

It is really easy to get hung up about it and examining your penis on a daily basis and scrutinizing every lump and bump, but the hardest thing to get your head around is that girls actually don't really notice it. It's always a very daunting thought that some girl (or guy) is going to be put off, but they are actually only a very tiny aesthetic and girls who aren't looking for them like you are, do not notice, even when getting head.

Confidence is the key, know the facts about it and if they ask you about it, spin it in a good way: you can't catch it, lots of guys have it, it's not a disease and at the end of the day it's just a built in studded condom, so you're one up on everyone else. If you explain this to them and be confident, they will be reassured by your non chalont attitude and won't worry about it themselves.

There doesn't seem to be a cure for this, and to be honest it is not the worst thing to have on your johnson when you watch some programmes like embarresing bodies on Channel 4 when there are dudes with their cocks bent in half or buried underneath fat, which is a hell of a lot more noticeable. So until there is a 100% safe, 100% successful miracle cream, don't let it get you down.

I am 21 and it took me a few years, and a few brave encounters with girls before I realised that they didn't seem to notice or mind very much even when they did, so get out there, be safe and embrace your sexual relations because you'll probably be stuck in a marriage for 50 years and you'll never have your carefree youth back :D

People need to read this thread, they aren't going to go away your just stuck living and no one will care, you don't have aids and your not going to die from them. You can go to dermatologist and get some cream that might reduce their appearance, but it's not really worth it.

Something like 47% of men have them...
