I am 14 and I just started my period last year but I've also had irregular periods. Its normally every 3-4 months. I am truthfully a little over weight and I'm going to loose weight and see if that helps any. Sometimes it scares me when I don't get my period even tho I am a virgin it still worries me .

My periods started when I was 11 and they were normal, I'm 19 now and it skips three months and I get it on the fourth. It's been like this for awhile so I guess it normal for me? The only problem is my fiancé and I are trying for a baby and I'm not sure if I can get pregnant or if it will just be hard. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

And THAT is why I worry. My family has a slight history with conception and full term pregnancies. I'm 22 and a virgin, on no birth control and/or medication and am normal weight for my build (4'10" 115lbs)

That isn't really true, I'm really healthy but not perfect weight and I get my period very three months. My friend is really over weight and she gets her period every month. So I don't think that weight makes a difference. I started getting my period last year November and I've only just gotten my third period ever. I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about though.

I am 15 and I got my period April 2012 (12 yrs.old)

The problem here is also same as mine. I ask my mom about this and according to her I have a irregular menstruation but I haven't seen to a doctor.

I got my menstruation every 3 months and sometimes 4 and 5 months. :( AND I THINK THAT'S VERY WEIRD.

I'm not over weight .. Huhuh :'( Does anyone knows what the EFFECTS AND CAUSES in my problem? I just really hate it cuz my classmate are saying that I'm "INFERTILE"??! And unable to get pregnant?

IS THAT TRUE? How I wish someone can give me a answer even not going to a doctor.

Umm go to the doctor right now!!! Prolonged periods are very serious and if you lose too much blood you will faint and possibly go into a coma!

Its not possible to get pregnant from the shower or tub or pool or anything. Maybe theoretically but not enough chance for you to even be considering it.

I am currently 15 and i have the same problem, only i get maybe twice a year if i'm lucky. I've been reading up on it and one reason that this may be occurring is becuase i might have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), which i basically where a condition in which a woman's level of the  sex hormones  estrogen and progesterone are out of balance. This leads to the growth of ovarian cysts.

Some of the symptons of PCOS are;

-infertility because of not ovulating

-Infrequent, absent and/or irregular menstrual cycle

-increased hair growth on the face, stomach, chest, toes and thumbs

-acne, oily skin and/or dandruff

-weight gain, usually around the waist

-thinning hair

-pelvic pain

-anxiety and/or depression

-sleep apnea

i have only had my period for about 4 years now but it has been the same since it started, but numerous women suffer from irregular periods which is quite normal so i wouldn't stress about it.

Hope this helped :)

I started my period at age 12. I never had much cramps just moody. The periods were regular for about 4 years. I am 18 now and the past 3-4 years my period comes every 3-5 months and lasts only 4-5 days. I tried birth control for 3 months to regulate it and in January 2015 I stopped and that was also the last time I had a period. It is now mid-May201

I am 31 years old and I know it's normal. I started mine the same way...It was like this for years. First period came when I was 13 and then nothing happened for 1.5 years. Then, when I was 15, I started having periods once every 4-6 months until I was 20. Then, from 20 to 26 years, my period was once every 1.5-3 months. And, by the age 27 it finally formed itself into a predictable pattern of every 25-28 days.....So, it took over a decade for it to form itself... Now, the flow is about a tablespoon of liquid, discharging every two or three hours, for one day only. The rest of the days - 2 to 4 days - it's only one or two tiny drops of blood every 6 hours....it's so little that I don't notice it sometimes at all.. :)) It feels good also.
