Is there a cheaper alternative to clarisonic?

I have the Olay Pro X brush and when I first got it, as with any new toy of course, I was dilligent about using the brush and it was really nice to see the difference it made to my skin. I had some problems with dry patches around the eyebrows and closed comedones on the nose and those folds around the nose when I got it, and it's true that it really works well as an exfoliator and pore unclogger, probably because it does remove makeup so much better than you could ever do manually. The brush also plain encouraged me to just take better care of my skin, you know? The excitement did wear off after a while and I stopped using it so much seeing as I was happy with my skin at that stage... well, needless to say, my skin has returned to its previous shabby state and out comes the Olay Pro X again!!!

I am interested in getting a skin brush: my skin often gets clogged pores and mild breakouts that I'd like to better keep under control, and reading reviews from people with Clarisonic brushes gives me product envy!

Spending that much money on something I don't even know whether it will work (and some people most definitely say the Clarisonic skin brush is too harsh for their skin!) is intimidating though. So I think I want something a lot cheaper. Thanks for the Olay Pro X brush recommendation. That is much more affordable and is probably what I will end up going with.

Oh, it is good to hear that people are enjoying their Olay Pro X brushes! I do hear you! I got a Shiatsu back massager, which is truly amazing and does a lot for the back, but seven odd months in (I got it for the new year), I am no longer using it every day, particularly because I also started sport and that helped my back feel a lot better. When things hurt though, I get the massager. I still haven't got the Olay Pro X but think I will order one now. I just want to experience this for myself, even if it does not work, and the Olay brush has an acceptable price.

I just wanted to warn people who may fall into the same trap I did.

I bought what I thought was a Clarisonic Mia 2 from a local second hand sales group on Facebook, only to find out shortly afterwards that it was a poorly produced fake that did not actually work, probably made in China. That was after already using the Olay Pro X which I was happy enough with but what I saw this I thought, OK great deal. Fake Clarisonics are out there and being sold to easily duped customers like I was. Of course the seller turned out to have a fake name, etc, and I just lost the money. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Just a quick note that my Mia 2 stopped holding a charge after a couple of years. I received it as a gift and contacted clarisonic because I didn't have a receipt. They said there was nothing that they could do. So, more expensive does not equal better. In this case, they have poor customer support, do not stand behind their products, and their pricier model dies after a couple of years (at least mine did). Just thought I'd share. I saw this post while researching other options.
