Thanks to everyone for sharing. I am also small breasted - 36A and have had one breast itch like crazy for a few weeks and now they are both itching. Also my knees are hurting me - the first time in ages! I have noticed that I have been gaining a little weight and do know I am in perimenepause (sp?), so I wonder if it's gaining weight or hormones. All mammograms have been fine. I see my Dr. next month and plan on asking her.

Get your breast checked!!! I had the same symptom and never thought much of it. This summer I turned 36 and my Dr. ordered a mammogram to compare in the future when I turn 40. I opted for a sonogram in fear that it would rupture my implants. Sure enough, they found a huge mass on one breast. While I waited for the biopsy, I researched breast cancer symptoms and forums and found a similar story. Someone had itchy breasts and had a routine mammogram and found a mass too. Fortunately my tumor is not cancerous. Apparently the mass stretches nerves in your breast and will cause the itching. Note this important info. Trust your gut!!! If I had not opted for the sonogram the mass would not have been found. The radiologist said that the mammogram looks for calcification's. My mass did not have calcification's. Perhaps that's why it wasn't noticed 2 years earlier with the mammogram I had before I got my implants.

Hi, i am a male who's concerned about my partners itching breasts and am reading this solely for that purpose. But reading about a curtain young lady complaining that she is scared of scratching in fear of stretch marks, have no fear. They are caused by the skin stretching (through pregnancy or getting fatter) and are never caused by scratching.

Hope that helps

My breasts have been itchy for the last 7yrs, when the itch first began I went to the hospital and was told I had piytriasis rosea and it will last for a couple of weeks. Well 7 years later the itch is still here. I've read that a lady felt like ripping her breasts off, I feel the same exact way especially during a shower. I cant take hot steam showers anymore the water temperature MUST be mild to cool if not forget it im like a dog . I've tried hard not to scratch but have rubbed really hard and have actually gotten a sensation of relief, I dont recommend this though, afterward theyare sore. I recently watched a show and there might be an answer to the itchy breasts the newest form of breast cancer called INFLAMATORY BREAST CANCER, all my symptoms point in that direction, I'm 28 a newly wed and scared to death that i may actually have this. The Dr.s who discovered this are M.D's at COLUMBIA PRESBYTERIAN. So now you have more information to look into. I'm trying to build up the strengh to get tested again, like i said im scared. I hope I may have enlightened anyone who also shares my story, good luck.

My breasts have been itching like crazy for the past couple months. It seems like it started after I got couple pairs of bras from Victoria Secret.I have never had this problem before. My skin does not look dry at all,I have always used lotion all over my body and I do nothing different.First my breast started itching mostly on the sides, then the bottom, not my nipples too.Its starting to drive me insane. The other night I scrached myself so hard even though I try not to,hurts the nipples!, that I made myself bleed.Im really wondering what this is.

i have the same problem with the itchiness, and what i don't understand at all about it is that it's worse at night when i'm sleeping (best part of it, it wakes me up all damn night) while wearing no bra at all. i'm 20, i've never had kids, and i have average size breasts. i have no clue why i'm itching like crazy, there is no rash until i start scratching like a maniac. if anyone even knows of something to calm my skin pleeeease let me know.

Hello....It's Athletes Breast....

I had this problem as well. My mother-in-law and I both are a little full breasted. She said to buy some LAMISIL (athlete foot cream) and rub it in the whole area affected (go outside the area about 2" or so as well). I could be something more serious OR it could just be ATHLETES Breast. Yes, it is possible to get Athletes foot on your breast. Especially if it starts or is in the area just under the breast where us full figured gals Sweat in the summer. Wear a polyester bras, sweat and just the tiny bit of fungal pick up from pool shower, gym lockers, and poof. Athletes breast. When you scratch the area your spreading it. The creams or spray on powder is almost always instant relief. GO FOR LAMISIL only. ALL the other cheep stuff will only make it linger LONGER... and it doesn't really get it. I've found the LAMISIL works the best. Toss all infected bras, toss all polyester, silk or bras that make you sweat. Cotton bra the best. Keep one while your treating the infected breast. Don't make the mistake of trying to wash the bra to save it. It will only re-infect you (did that once). 2 days of lamisil & you'll start seeing immediate relief. Costco sells a LAMISIL 2 can spray powder and 1 tube cream for $15, best deal. Good luck... stop itching. Most doctors have NO CLUE you can get Athletes breast. Watch your nails you can re-infect yourself if scratching... cut them back. If you must itch, i use a fork gently.

I have these symptoms too. Its only in one and I think its my bra. (It doesn't itch when I don't have it on) This is mostly for the 13 year old. Getting your period and then loosing it is ver common at your age. But it is still recommended that you see the doctor about it because it could mean other things (diseases people are born with etc.) I remember having itchy breasts when I was your age so I wouldn't worry to much about that, I thinkits just because they are growing.

But what about those of us that DON'T have large breasts? Geez, thanks for all the information about the yeast and the athletes breast, but mine is neither. Checked for both.

Now, I also use hypo allergenic detergent, the only other connection i see with some of these other women is the Victoria's secret bras...I'll look into that, Thanks.

It might due to the exzema, the doctor prescribe me some cream for skin (fungus etc), keep it dry buy put some powder (corn based). don't worry too much, I don't think it is dangerous or cancer.

I went to the doctor after having suffered for nearly 4 months from itchy breasts. She told me it was a yeast infection (kinda like jock itch or athlete's foot but on your breasts) and prescribed CLOTRIMAZOLE-BETAMETHASONE CRM 45GM. Finally--RELIEF!

I have little bits of acne, as I am a teenager and have spots on my breasts, I also have dry skin that also causes me to itch, however i only have it on my arms, legs and breasts.

If most women find it common to have itchy breasts, it might not be due to the fact that their bras are being put in the dryer, it may just be the bra rubbing against you causing you to itch. Or like me you have dry skin, that may also be the reason. I do use oil and cream to treat the dry skin and it works to stop me from itching, maybe you should try some baby oil, worked for me, even if you haven't got dry skin, it's worth a try.

Hi! I just started reading this, trying to find out why my nipples itch so severely....its been going on for a while. I can definitely say buying a new bra sometimes helps, cortisone and lotions do not. I was diagnosed with hyperprolactinemia and when I am on my medication the itchiness seems to subside
