Didn't you plan to take Soolantra? If you did, it worked for you, too.

An unhealthy lifestyle likely is a negative factor. Although maybe there are other unknown factors that may play a positive role. For example, the weather in Belgium currently has a high humidity due to the combination of outside weather while at the same time central heating isn't used fully yet (which lowers the humidity). So in the winter (with a low humidity), things may be different.

A biopsy is a good choice to determine what is going on. Without a biopsy, all other approaches are often trial-and-error, blind treatments. A good example of this is on a new thread on the Oozing Yellow Crust forum, were a woman saw 10 different doctors before getting a biopsy.

Note that a biopsy has to be taken from an active lesion, so if you are currently clear, then a biopsy may be useless.

I'm currently on day 49 of Soolantra. The problem is less than before Soolantra, but I'm not clear yet. It's also difficult to contribute the reduction in lesions to Soolantra, maybe it's just luck, or something else.

Anymnoo, are all your lesions completely gone, even very small ones?

The lesions became smaller and at some point only pimples appeared. Right now I have one very small pimple around every week. Don't know whether this is still related to demodex or just a pimple everybody has, but it is not influencing my life at all (whereas the crusts were crushing it as others described it, too). In comparison to the majority of other people around me, I have very good skin know.

I remember that I had a very last oozing lesion after 1.5 months, before that I was clear for 2 weeks. But I guess because you only take Soolantra and not Stromectol and Metronidanzole it takes longer to clear up for you. As a akne area on my forehead was gone after 3 weeks (until then it only became worse every day), I was very sure already that the treatment worked for me in the beginning.

I actually took another round of Stromectol to check whether the "one small pimple every week" is still related to it. I will report about it in a few weeks.

XF2, how many lesions do you get right now after 50 days every week?

New Hope, I hate to tell this to you but I had three biopsies done and they didn't find anything. When I had a big, active lesion, I went to the hospital and they numbed my face and cut the thing out at the root. Each time it came up as nothing. Now I just have scars and no answers. And as far as lifestyle, I have lived in many different climates. I lived in Italy, right on the coast and my skin was pretty good at that time but I still got lesions. I've lived in the American south and now I live in the desert where there is zero humidity. It doesn't matter. The lesions come just the same. Also, I eat very healthy. No alcohol, no wheat, no dairy. Not much meat. Nothing makes the lesions stop. The only thing that has ever weakened them is sea buckthorn seed oil pills, which I take one in the AM and one in PM. I don't know why this weakens the lesions. Currently, I am learning about oils and taking Udo's 3 6 9 oil to see if it helps change the oil composition within my body. Also, I've begun taking coconut oil two times a day + probiotics. The probiotics, believe it or not, are actually helping my gut! I thought that stuff was fake for years!!!!

So here it is, a new lesion has grown at last.

What can I remark?

My face has been more red today and less conformatable!!!

And red and demodex are linked.

So it is certainly part of the cause.

Did you ever get the correct diagnosis and cure for your condition??
I have the same type of condition... just on my face. Small sores that develop, rupture, ooz, crust over and oozes again. Active cycles last 8 to 10 hours then they start healing. Repeats itself at another spot on my face. Sometimes one or two sores occur & other times many more.
I have been to the best dermatologist in my area over a course of 15 plus years with no real solution.
I sick of all the different treatments and possible causes that have not improved my problem.
Biopsies, cultures, blood work, allergy test.... all inconclusive.
If you found a cure for your condition I would surely appreciate to know what actually worked.

Sorry to hear you've had the unfortunate skin problem like the rest of us. I've had it for 20 years and don't know how I haven't thrown myself off a bridge yet. But as we start to find each other on the internet, we can all help each other out. I'll tell you a few things I've learned in 20 years as it may help you in your own battle.

It took me many years to identify triggers that exacerbated the skin outbreaks. For me, it was chocolate, yogurt, lemons, oranges and pretty much all fruit except apples and grapefruit. Doesn't make sense why I can eat a grapefruit, but not a lemon. Anyway, I've had these lesions biopsied from my face more than once and still bear the scars from where the doctors sliced and diced me. No biopsy or any of the 30 different antibiotics or skin creams helped one bit. Mayo Clinic even gave me a leprosy medicine called Dapsone as a sort of 'guess' at curing this thing.

So, we have something doctors can't figure out and won't even acknowledge. We're on our own. I've stopped going to regular doctors altogether and over the past four months have begun visiting a very good homeopath. I've been to more than one and, from my experience- there are ones who are really good and those who are just going to waste your time. My particular doctor is a trained medical doctor who then trained as a homeopath so he has a good perspective of a wide array of strategies. Also, my appointments with the homeopath typically last up to an hour. We rake over all of the details. You don't get that with general doctors.

I've made my first steps of progress this year. For a while, I was using tea tree oil 1:2 ratio with jojoba oil. I also tried apple cider vinegar internally and as a toner. My skin broke out in an apocalypse. I went through some really tough months as I tried to wait for improvement. Then when I stopped washing my face with soap altogether (using only water), my skin became 100% clear for about a week. By clear, I mean no whiteheads. No blemishes whatsoever. So I concluded that things like tea tree and apple cider vinegar were causing a die-off reaction on my face and making things worse. I've since gone to taking a tablespoon of extra virgin coconut internally, 2 or 3 times a day. I also use only fractionated coconut oil on my face as moisturizer. It takes a few weeks for your skin to adjust to coconut. I was constantly peeling, but now things are better. I've also found seabuckthorn seed oil pills to be VERY beneficial. Sea buckthorn seed oil pills have helped me more than any doxycline or other antibiotic. It doesn't make the yellow crusts go away, but they are much smaller and weaker.

So, after 20 years, I can say nothing has worked better for me than coconut oil and sea buckthorn seed oil blend pills. I've cut out wheat and dairy and fruit, but nonetheless the little terrors still pop up whenever they want to.

With my homeopath, I've done testing for food and chemical sensitivities. I am in the process of addressing those issues. Secondly, I am planning to have my fillings removed as metal toxicity may play a role in these outbreaks. If you have not already researched these things, I recommend looking into demodex mites and dental amalgam allergies and mercury poisoning.

When I last met with my homeopath, we looked at a book from 1903 from the UK which described these rashes with yellow ooze as a direct symptom of mercury poisoning. My plans moving forward are to have my fillings removed and begin detoxing the metals from my blood.

We'll see where this takes me. Please keep in touch as we can all learn much from each other and benefit from one another's mistakes and victories.

Thank you. Good luck in your fight.

Hi! and thanks for sharing your story!
Just to let you know that I've got no fillings. I already tried to remove my earrings and it didn't change anything so I put 'em back :). Why don't you try the medication against demodex?
Have a nice week!
