Large inner Labia

Hi, I am 21 and have very large inner labias that protrudes considerably out of my outer lips by about 2 cms. Whenever, I am standing, I can see them hanging out, and to me it looks awful. Is this normal?

I understand ur concern but everyones body is different. I worked with a gynocologist and he wanted me to learn and antyhing he found interestin he would show me. and in that process he showed me alot of different people with different labias. i would tell ur mom so she can be there for u because she will never know that u feel u have a problem. Surgery is a good option. :D . If u are really embarrased that will be the best for u.

I will start off by saying that my vagina could be considered fairly "normal" (if there is such a thing), that is to say: my inner labia aren't large, and things are pretty even down there. But there is no reason why I should be nervous about my vagina even if things weren't as they are.

Some of you girls are 15. I'm not going to tell you that is too young to be sexually active, but I will tell you that you should not be worrying about what you look like down there. In my time on this earth, I have seen a lot of penises and a lot of vagina, (much of it in pornography!). And yes, they really do come in all shapes and sizes!

If your partner hasn't been with anyone else before, or just one or two women, he might be a little surprised about how you look. But no doubt he is just as nervous about how he looks. There are worlds of variation between penises too. Some, I loved, some not so much. And of the ones I thought weren't so attractive, I'm sure some other female would find very sexy. And it's exactly the same with women and their vaginas!

One thing though, I never told the boyfriend if I didn't like the look of his penis, and if your partner is rude enough to say that he doesn't like your vagina, kick him out of bed. If the guy is at all decent, he won't care what you look like, or at the very least it shouldn't stop him from being able to pleasure you! Anyone who gets hung up on something so minor isn't worth the time.

And lastly, please girls: do not consider surgery. Another poster mentioned the harmful effects it could possibly have on you, and said something about nerve endings. If you kill the nerves there, you may never be able to have an orgasm again! Many women, myself included, can only orgasm through clitoral stimulation.

If you are finding men are making derogatory comments about your vagina, obviously you're with the wrong men. Look for someone who loves you for you, flaws and all!

Hey, I'm 19, and my left labia is bigger than the other, and it shows more than one on the right. I'm embarased to get sexually active because of it. I wanted to get surgey, but I don't have the money for it.

I have the same problem as well with one of my inner labia being bigger than the other and it seriously irritates me. It is uncomfortable, sometimes painful, to have intercourse or to wear tight pants. I've been thinking about surgery as well and I was wondering if anyone has had surgery and if they would reccomend it.

I'm a 30 yo woman, I also have quite long inner labias (2cm long, or so), I think they're also not exactly the same size, and they have their own texture and everything... When I was younger, before I had any sexual relationship, I was a little concerned about it. But really, it has never, ever, been a problem in my sexual life and for my partners. It's totally NORMAL that there are variations in the sizes and appearances of those labias. It's perfectly alright. I kind of think that my partners loved it actually, and... I'm kind of proud of how it's shaped, if anything!
I was told that in some African culture it is viewed as a sign of superiority. Women with longer labias were actually 'valued' for that.
See? It's alright and (why not?) it's beautiful.
Be proud, don't worry and, please, don't damage yourself with some surgery.

I was worried about my inner labias, as they are so long that they protrude so that they are still visible when my legs were closed. They sometimes could get very uncomfortable as well, and were very stretchy and odd shaped.
I was a bit concerned that I had maybe caught a disease or something, as although I clean thoroughly, they weren't classed as normal whenever I tried to find out about them. I was also worried about what any guys would think in the future, but if what everyone is saying is true I suppose I shouldn't panic about it.
I'm 15 in a few months, and they've been growing constantly for a while now. Will they continue to grow?

hey my gf has an irregular labia , and i dnt care one bit, i actually like the fact that shes different and it gives her character, = ) .... if a guy wont go for you or says anything about it , hes to immature to understand. and is clearly not worth ure time. dnt go for surgery , its who you are and its perfectly normal. you will be doing more damage internally, emotionally and physically..

she was very reluctant to tell me at first but once she told me , it made her feel a lot better .

I have the same problem. Both of mine are large, about 4-5cm. I was bullied about it at school as my classmates could see the obvious bulge in my swimming costumes at the pool when we had swimming lessons. So regardless of how many males say that they like them on this site, I have experienced that they can be ever so cruel about it. It has seriously ruined my life, it is all I think about and makes me feel horrible. I have felt this way for 11/12 years. I am now 18 and have only just been able to talk to my mother about it. I too felt like a freak about it and felt like I couldn't talk to anyone, but it's a huge relief to have found this site and read about others who feel the same way. I have 0 confidence and even so much as thinking about a sexual relationship is out of the question as I have 0 self-confidence. Anyone who knows me wouldn't believe any of this because to the outside world I am quite a confident girl, and attract a lot of male attention - but I could never act on that unless I find a miracle cure and changing. Could anyone tell me if they've had surgery on the NHS regarding this issue and explain what it involves as I believe that this is the only way forward for me.

Just wanted to share that I have exactly the same issue.... One lip is about four times the size of the other, and is quite fat, whereas the other is very small and thin.

I have had a few sexual partners, and none have noticed (at least they haven't mentioned it!), and it certainly hasn't stopped anyone.

My boyfriend of many years laughed when I told him I was concerned about it, and said he had never even noticed.

And ladies, its important to note that guys "parts" can vary just as much as girls parts. I bet there are poor guys out there obsessing that one testicle is larger than the other when no girl will ever notice!

Unless it's causing serious medical issues and major discomfort I would never recommend someone undertaking surgery! Every surgery, even minor, has major risks - and the last thing you want is loss of feeling and scarring in that area.

@ anyone being mocked in school - ignore it absolutely! I guarantee you the same people mocking you have a pimply buttocks, or ingrown toenails or something different about them. Everyone does, and if bulls don't pick on one thing, they choose something equally ridiculous to mock you about. Just remember these are the people going to be working in Mc Donalds or living in a trailer park in 10 years.

yeh i have one lip which is quite a bit larger than the other and at first it bothered me because i didnt think other girls had this and i thought i was really different and guys would be disgusted by it. But now, after ive done a bit of research on it, ive realized that EVERYONE has a different appearance down there, even guys, so why should i be worried? if a guy cant handle it for some reason then he can **** off! lol he's obviously too immature to handle a woman's body so he shouldn't even be looking at one! there are more important things in life than worrying about the appearance of something hardly anyone sees, those that do see it should care enough about you to respect the fact that you are who you are!

Hi everyone!

I am seventeen now and have had the exact same problem for years. I was terrified at first, and was afraid that it was some sort of cancer.

My right labia is about one cm larger than the other one, and seems to have "granules" in it, as one recent post said. It has made me extremely embarrassed. I don't plan to have sex until I'm married, but this has worried me sick all the same, because I was terrified that this would interfere with sexual activity, and that my future husband would find this disgusting.

I just wanted to thank every single person on this post--I was considering trying to find some way to get surgery to correct this "problem", but everyone's posts on here have made me feel so much better about this!

you guys are the bestt!! haha i am 18 years old and my left inner labia is quite a bit larger than the right one. i worry about it all the time. it makes me feel sooo insecure. i have been sexually active for years now and have had several partners. nobody has ever said anything but i can never enjoy it because all i do is think about it. i never knew anybody else had this problem. i was considering surgery but now that i have read all these wonderful post..i think i can actually live with myself!

Too much focus is being placed on this. I am a model in New York City, and my labia have been different sizes since I can remember. I never knew that having one labia longer than the other "wasn't normal" until one of my friends had laser surgery to "correct" hers. For a short time, I also had anxiety.

That fact of the matter is, no man is going to care about your labia. Also, if my friend and I both had the same type of labia (one being longer than the other) this cannot be that uncommon. I asked my boyfriend and he said he has seen different types, and that he had never even thought about mine being "different" until I asked him.

I do not believe anyone should consider surgery for this. My mom said to me, "When trying to sell a house, you don't think to update the cellar first...you go for the outside." Point being: smile, have fun, be kind to people and they will like you. With everything else a woman has to offer, why would she ever worry about her labia!? Vaginas do not have to be perfect in symetry, men will love yours regardless.
