I encourage readers to think about whether they have other symptoms of malnutrition, such as bad nails & hair. Might give them a clue as to what's going on. I think my problem is my body not digesting food properly and not absorbing nutrients. This can lead to serious other issues from your partially digesting food dumping into your intestines. Anyway, the betaine hydrochloride seems to help with the gas, noise, diahrrea & taking it with zinc & vitamin C seems to help my nails. But I'm also going to head to the kitchen & take some olive oil next time! Only thing is you can carry Betaine HCI pills with you & take some after meals but it would be hard to carry olive oil around-LOL. I wonder if we all have some sort of undiagnosed stomach ailment. There seems to be a lot of people suffering from this and just calling it IBS with no treatment is a pretty worthless diagnoses.

I agree....something IS going on with our stomachs....and IBS seems like a 'blanket' diagnosis. The Olive Oil is still helping me...and I drink a bottle of water after to wash it down...hoping it will SWISH my gurgling away.

I'm having the same problem and I think all its doing is worsening. I've just started college, and its not a very good start to show up to class and have to force everyone to listen to my unruly stomach. This definitely isn't going to make me friends. And I'm pretty sure my roommate gets an ear full of it, too when we're both trying to sit and study. And it's so distracting! I can't even think about the work I'm doing when my insides are going off this way. I've tried culturelle, I've tried metamucil, I've tried exercising (I read that doing abdomen exercises everyday for a few days should stop it), and I've just recently tried the teaspoon of olive oil. I no longer am comfortable going places that I know will be quiet. Its taking over my life. And although it is true that a rumbling stomach is just a rumbling stomach and isn't the end of the world (I've read this a couple of times on here and was also told this by the two different doctors I talked to about the issue), its extremely uncomfortable. How am I supposed to live my life if I'm constantly uncomfortable? Someone please help me out.

Get tested for celiac disease.  Loud stomach growling is a common symptom.

I have been dealing with this embarrasing condition for years and I have recently discovered a cure.  Apple Cider Vinegar that has the "mother" in it.  I bought mine from Walmart and found it on the shelves with the regular vinegar.  This stuff is a true miracle.  Our stomach noises come from an excess of gas related to what we eat and drink, and we probably also have candida.  Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) seems to knock out all of that.  I recently tested the use of ACV alone without the help of my other things I use to quiet my stomach when I know I'm going to be in a quiet room.  Before finding ACV, I would take a dose of liquid Pepto Bismol and my MD prescribed Bentyl to keep my stomach quiet in a quiet room.  This worked for the most part, but not 100%.  Yesterday, I took my ACV in water in the morning, and ate my usual bowl of rice before my acting class.  But I was in a hurry and forgot my Pepto Bismol and my Bentyl.  I sat through a 4 hour class dreading the time that my stomach would start to make noises....but it never did.  Towards the end of the class, I got hungry and eyed the raw vegetable platter that someone had brought in.  If anything will set my stomach off, it's raw vegetable.  But I figured, what the hell, class is almost over and I want to REALLY put my ACV theory to the test.  So I proceeded to stuff my face with raw broccoli and carrots dipped in ranch dressing.  When the class got quiet again.....no noises from my stomach whatsoever.  I couldn't believe it.

Now I don't believe the ACV starts working right away.  I think it takes at least a week, if not several weeks for you to start feeling the full results.  This is how I take it:  One teaspoon of ACV in 8 ounces of water, once a day, every day.  That's it.  I take mine first thing in the morning and sometimes I add a little honey to the water, but not all the time.  Please give this a try and remember to take it everyday.  If you miss doses, your stomach will start to notice.  If anyone decides to try this and works, please post here as I would like to know if it's working for other people.

Ah, the pain of the rumbling stomach. I've had these sorts of problems all my life, and I am now 32 years old and pregnant,so it's arguably gotten the worst it's ever been. My stomach would rumble nonstop during tests, and even thoughit was a common problem(my friends and I all essentially had the same problem),but mine would be like an earthquake! I am wondering whether I should have any more children after this, it's that bad. My husband says he can barely feel the baby kicking inside me over the rumbling. My mother has had similar problems all her life as well, and often, when we're sitting in a room together, my father will say that it's like two radios trying to drown each other out! But, by now I've essentially given up trying to find a cure, because nothing,NOTHING works! So if anyone finds a suitable cure, post here!

OMG I am so thankful for this website. I am so glad that I am not alone!

For the past two weeks I had some kind of bug inside me, a stomach virus, I guess, and that cuased me to vomit everyday in the morning. Noting came out, I only gagged a lot. My mom said it was acid coming out but I doubt it.

Now I am better; I dont vomit in the mornings. But during school its so quiet in my history,  english, and spanish class. How am I supposed to sit through 84 mins of silence when my stomach growls every 5 mins? I see other kids and they're just sitting in their normal positions, slumped and what not. They have no worries. And I'm stressing about how to cover up my stomach growling noise. How much worse can it get?! I really think I am developing a phobia for quiet places, like classrooms. I've skipped school so much in the past few weeks than I have ever in my life. I am 13 and I am going to high school next year. How do I make this stop?! In the mornings I eat a bowl of rice and have 5 apple slices with some ginger ale. What should I do to stop my stomach from growling? My partner in class (whos very judgemental) already heard my stomach growling and was gossipping to her othe friends about it. I dont want people to look at me differently because my stomach growls!

I think that my stomach growls because I am stressed out about it growling. I think that maybe if I thought less about it, it will go away. for instance, when I am in PE or with my friends in a noisy place, it never growls. But when I am in the silent classroom it like bubbles. And for some reason its only the left side that makes noise, not the right. So i mostly sit in class with my left hand on the my stomach, clutching it. Its an odd position, but what am I supposed to do?! Anybody have any tips? I really want this stomach growling problem to stop. this has never happened to me before; it just started a couple weeks back.

I also have my spanish final coming up, so how am I supposed to sit through that in 45 mins of silence? I really hope that my stomach wont growl although I have a feeling it will. i think that this new phobia I am developing is amplifying my stomach growling. I really really want this to stop; its soo embarassing!!! :( Please help!
