My family preferrs to be nude at home

It's me again. As a child, when I transitioned from baths to showers, it was a scary thing for me. I started out by taking a shower with my Dad. Then when I leaned there was nothing to be afraid of, I was ready to shower all by myself. My question is do children take thier first shower all alone, or is it common for boys to get used to this new spraying shower thing with thier Dad, and girls with thier Mom? If it is a common practice, then haven't we all been naked with at least our Mothers and Fathers during that learning experiences?

This is certainly interesting, we didn't go around nude in the house when I was growing up in the 40s but I was never ashamed to be nude with my playmates who were girls. Bathing suits were too expensive to buy for kids who were going to outgrow them by next summer so our mothers sent us out to play in the lawn sprinkler in our underwear. That would be just underpants for both sexes as girls were not expected to act like grown girls by hiding their boobs until they actually had some. The funny thing is the underpants didn't stay on for long because when they got wet they slid down so we were tripping over them and we discarded them. My mother would see us nude and come out to make us put them back on but apparently she didn't really disapprove or she would have been running out every 5 minutes to enforce that rule. As for us it didn't bother us at all being naked together. What was funny was when I had to pee I would go behind the lilac bush I guess because that's what I'd seen men do. They were intrigued by the fact that I was able to aim my stream so sometimes they would follow me to watch. I was intrigued that they had no obvious place where theirs came out and sometimes attempted to see where it was coming from. They didn't mind assisting in that endeavor by spreading as much as possible and leaning back for a better view. We were simply curious about those things like the time we spent checking our nipples to see the difference between mine and theirs. After all theirs must have holes for the milk to come out and mine wouldn't. We never found the holes! One of the girls noticed that I didn't look like her brother who was circumcised so that had to be investigated after I showed her that I did when I pulled my foreskin back. She wanted to pull that back herself, I let her do it and erections were discovered. She thought that was neat and asked to do it several times after that and wanted to show that to some of her girl friends. At our age then it wasn't sexual, just an interesting oddity. When I went swimming at one girls family camp we both doffed our bathing suits as soon as we got in the water. We just felt better swimming naked but we kind of hid that from her father figuring he might not approve. As an adult my wife and I went skinny dipping with some other couples, not because we wanted to see each other naked but because none of us had bathing suits with us when we decided to jump in. I didn't mind a bit but my wife says she wouldn't have done it if she had not had a few drinks and does not wish to recall that evening. I recall that as a fun time while she is ashamed of it. I wish my wife could be more like those girls I grew up with as she even locks the bathroom door when I'm the only other person in the house. I do think her negative attitude toward nudity has had some negative effects on our sex life.

I never thought about how to do the changeover from a bath to a shower. I grew up with a bathtub until we remodeled the bathroom when I was 10 and we finally had a shower. That's when I began taking showers and not with anyone. I guess I never considered there might be a learning period. I never took baths with anyone either. My mother did give me baths when I was little and so did every relative who came to visit when I was a baby. I have my fathers home movies to prove it. The tub was placed on the kitchen table and the aunts and girl cousins all gathered 'round. You can even see my mother showing the little girls how to retract my foreskin to wash under it. When I was 5 my mother showed me how to do the foreskin washing and said I was on my own. She did come in to watch me do that the first few times to make sure I did it properly. Aside from that nobody taught me how to take a bath or shower. Upon entering junior high (7th grade) we all had to take showers in the community shower room after gym class so if there were any of us who didn't already know the difference between cut and uncut we learned it then. Eventually when we started dating we learned the girls were allowed to hide for modesty if they wanted, which was not on the menu for the boys. They didn't think much about boys modesty at all. There was a corridor that we had to cross to get from the locker room to the shower room and teachers used that corridor all the time to get between class rooms. About half the teachers were female and certain ones seemed to use that corridor at our shower time more often than others. The girls went to a different school building so I don't know how their building was laid out or what happened over there. Finally in my junior year we got a new co-ed school and there were girls and boys locker rooms with attached showers. Ours still had community shower heads but I don't know about the girls.

Dear Denmark mom, We have a nudist family with 13/15yr olds we are fine with the nudist lifestyle. They grew up in Europe so we are cool about being nudists. Kids b/g are well adjusted and good people;. No worries, I understand as we grew up with no doors and natural, no secrests lol. Wish all families were open enough to be natural and with no hang ups. Even when boy started to get erections, just dont make a fuss, let it be normal. Best wishes and be well.

dear Freda965, seems like you find it quite easy and relaxed being open minded and enjoying the nudity at home. Hubby and I still talk a lot about it but never really take the step to start nudism at home due to the kids as we don't know how the reaction could be. Dear SilviaMum We are relaxed and nudist 24/7. The key thing is being honest and open being natural. Kids grew up naked since babies, as you know this is the European way if you are a nudist. We have a no doors locked environment so we see each other in a normal way. Yes they come in and snuggle with us in bedroom if something bothers them so that we can discuss and help them. Love them and nurture them. And yes 15yr boydoes get hardons but we see it as normal as he is growing up. We just ignore it so as to not toshock him. Congratulations to the 27 year old mom from Denmark. I wish we had many more moms like that in the US. There is nothing wrong with practicing nudity at home and letting the kids participate also. As long as they remain under adult supervision I dont see anything wrong.

You touched on a very important issue. Healthy eating. Moms should always care more about specially when you have young children. The issue of family nudity at home is a definite plus.

I am glad to hear that there are other families like ours. I grew up as part of a nude family myself. Congratulations to you and your husband for being so open minded and letting your children go naked too. We need more families like that in the US.
