I get this too and feel relieved that I am not the only one. But why just the legs/lower body? I am a 46 year old female and my room is cool and it does not happen every night but often say three or four nights in a row. It's weird!
wish i could contribute an answer, but i haven't found any information on this on the web, except the reassurance that i'm not the only one!
i'm a 24 year old female, and this happens to me frequently- waking up to find my legs soaked with sweat, only to throw the covers off, at which point my legs get chills.
i kept thinking maybe it has something to do with the sheets or covers that i'm using, maybe they're too insulating or they don't breathe well. i can never predict when it will happen- the temperature of the room doesn't seem to have much of an effect, and my upper body feels completely normal.
all i know is that it is a very unpleasant sensation, and i wish we could find some definitive info on this! i will make mention of it to my doctor the next time i get a chance.

I am a 30 yr male, have been suffering this for about a year. I sleep with my bedroom door open as the central heating affects my sinuses, so I too am often freezing cold at night.
Could room coldness be the common link?

I am a 58 year old female. I have been having shin sweats for about 3 years. I thought it might be menapause, but it isn't. I have had most of my amalgam fillings replaced with composit fillings. I have had both hips replaced. I wish we could get a solution.

I am a 61 year old male who never had leg sweats until after I had my thyroid removed due to a Hurthle cell carcinoma, since using synthroid regularly I have had various degrees of leg sweating in the evening primarily after I go to bed, but I also experience it if I walk more then just my routine daily walk!

27 year old male... same thing as most have written here. my legs and feet start sweating at night - the moment i lay down. they're fine while i'm sitting up at the computer, but as soon as i climb into bed and pull up a single sheet - they start dripping. its not every night, but certainly more than enough to be severely annoying. i've heard this might be related to thyroid, but i recently had my levels checked and they seem fine. grr. arg.
I just found this site as I was researching this...glad I'm not the only one as well. I'm a 30 yr old female and have only had this happen randomly every so often - the only thing I can come up with from my research is that anti-depressents can causes this; I've recently switched anti-depressents and this has been a recent thing that's happened. It's the only thing I can come up with - so gross and frustrating! I was considering switching for other reasons and now I'm really going for it! !
I have the same thing and what I can come up with is that it is related to anti-depresent meds
Hi I am a 37yr female, I also suffer from sweaty legs most nights like everyone else I wake from the wetness of my legs and sheets then when I stick my legs out it is freezing cold. And from reading everyones post I am putting it down to the medication I am on as this has only started in the past 5 months and I have been on Zolof for about 7months now. Yet I must say I have always had leg probems since I was a child (restles leg syndrome). But I think it is more due to the Medication. I will definatly mention this to my doctor on my next visit to be reassured. :-)
I am a 30 year old female and I have horrible thigh sweats at night. It's just started in the last 2 months. I have been on Paxil for years, so I'm not convinced that it is the medicine. I'm just really tired of waking up to soaking wet sheets. Did anyone who said they were going to talk to their doctor actually do it? I'm curious as to what they said.
24/ female on wellbutrin and zoloft (which I take early in the day) and trazadone (before bed). I occasionally wake up with significant sweating between my thighs, but not my legs. I'm concerned with getting a yeast infection if it continues. I have been diagnosed with delayed sleep onset and been told I have signs of RLS.
The sweating has been the last few nights although I may have had episodes a while ago that escape me for the moment. I have been on and off different anti-depressants for many years and on this combination for the last six months as well as for a while a couple of years ago. I usually sleep with a pillow between my thighs/legs.
Thank you for the community support and for any help in determining the cause!

I am a 51 year old female, a type one diabetic...I have had issues with below my knees sweating at night...enough to make the sheets wet...I have been told that it could be neurological and need to see a neurologist...it also could be from the diabetes and there is not alot they can do about it...now I am having the same issues in my upper back, but that was also when my blood pressure was low...I am at a loss, because my doctors are not sure what to do either...I have very strange symptoms and the blood pressure drops at strange times so there is no one things that is consistant...My doctors have told be to see what each episode has in common...very frustrating!!
