im 21 years old and i also sweat on my legs when i sleep. i dont take any meds so thats not the problem for me. i read online that it could just be from not getting air circulation while under the covers but it seems to only make my legs sweat even know my whole body is under the covers. i have even tried to use less covers and it still seems to happen. my legs dont sweat much or at all when im awake, i sweat in other places when i am (back, under arms, chest). only when its really really hot will my legs sweat when im awake. its very annoying to wake up in wet blankets. hope we can get some more ideas on what could be causing this.

I'm a 32yr old male, moderate drinker. I've been having the same, perspiration from my legs from the thighs down, lots from my shins.. sometimes soak the sheets. It's all very strange. However, I used to suffer severe cramps in my legs as a kid, real deep throbbing pain that felt like it was coming from within my bones / muscles, the only relief was tying neckties/belts around my legs really tight, and laying them against a radiator.

Do any of you wet-leg sufferers remember experiencing anything like this?

It appears that based on the responses and based on my own experience, the leg sweating is caused by the use of anti-depressants (SSRIs).
I have seen Wellbutrin, Paxil, Zoloft, Lexapro etc as medications listed in association with the night sweats.

I am an 18 year old female. I wake up with my body dripping in sweat all of the time but lately it has just been my legs. I have epilepsy and have been diagnosed with depression, but I feel like this wouldn't have any effect on sweating so perfusley at night. Does anybody have any idea why this would be happening to me?

I am a 42 yr. old female. I've been getting night leg sweats now just for the last couple of weeks.  I take the anti-depressant ZOLOFT, and have been for the last few years. I never had night leg sweating until recently, so i don't understand what brought it on? I also have a heart rhythm disorder called atrial-fibrillation but i don't hear of anyone else with that. So if anyone ever finds an answer for this i would really like to hear about it. By the way, it's not a little sweat, it's a drenching, soaking sweat!  :-(

If you suffer from restless legs it can be a magnesium deficiency, try taking it at night, it really works but sadly won't help with the sweating.

I'm 22 and that's when my leg sweats started at night. It's really weird. I'm thinking It's from the medication cause I've never had this before till taking it.

28 year old male. I had a pelvic tumour that was undetected until it got big. Since surgery I've had night sweats on my legs which have been identified as nerve regeneration from having a foreign body removed and also withdrawal from morphine that I used to treat the pain from the tumour

I'm 23 year old girl, healthy, I don't take medication or drugs, and I have the same problem, sweaty legs at night. Actually, the "anti-candida diet" based on no sugar, no starch, no prosseced foods seems to work, but as soon as I eat a simple toast with my breakfast it all goes down again. I hate this.

I am a 49 year old healthy female. I started taking 20mg of antidepressants 3 months ago and then in the last week I have started experiencing thigh sweats, drenching the sheets. I do not know if this is related to the antidepressants but will check with my doctor. Once I stick my legs out of the bed they tend to stop sweating but this can happen a couple of times a night disturbing my sleep. I used to be a great sleeper but this is a long and distant memory now as I have got older. I enjoy walking and cycling and do this on a daily basis so do not think the drenching sweats are related to this. I do not have any conditions and a recent blood test was confirmed as ok. All very strange and has come from nowhere. Maybe it's menopausal. The rest of my body is not drenched in this way. I have experienced hot flushes over the last few ytears but the thigh sweats are different. I do sweat a lot anyway and have always said I have my own internal heating system as I do not feel the cold like other people do.

I am a 40 year old female. This has been happening to me for several years. Fist it was occasional, but lately it has been happening every day for several weeks. I wake up in the middle of the night to find the sheets drenched, but only from the waist down. Also, I often put heating pads on my upper back and chest when I tuck in, and this makes my legs sweat too, while the upper body doesn't sweat a drop.

I do not have restless legs, nor do I take any pharmaceuticals. I live a clean, organic, healthy life. I do, however, have a large tumor, possible cancer in my upper thigh, with lymph congestion, so this may be a contributing factor.

Western medicine has no definite answers for this. Perhaps a TCM practitioner or Acupuncturist would have more insight into this type of situation.
