I've had the same problem since I was around 9. I'm 21 now. But I recently discovered something that's been helping! Sounds odd but Aloe Vesta Antifungal Ointment. I had an athlete's foot problem and saw how it helped the peeling skin between my toes and I put it on the bottom of my feet and now it's starting to clear up! Maybe it's the petrolatum and mineral oil don't know but it's working!

I have had this peeling problem on my feet for at least 4 yrs. I am an RN and I am on my feet for 12 hr shifts. I went to a podiatrist who prescribed 40% Urea Lotion, it didn't work. I would get the shiny new skin that would thicken and have decreased sensation, it would become dry and peel off in thick strips which made my feet very painful. Just this week I finally found my cure!!! I take hot baths or showers- but I'm keeping my feet dry with baggies. Then I rub in Kerasal Exfoliating Moisturizer and cover my feet with plastic wrap. I then keep my feet in socks to keep the wrap in place. My feet are so soft and the dryness has not returned. The redness is turning pink. It's been a week and I truely think I'm cured!!!!!!! It takes 2 minutes and I'm going to keep this up for another week.

my husband has peeling hands and feet, cannot walk most nights, just shuffles...at first we thought it was the Crackerjack bowls polish, then maybe the lawn bowl grass, now we think it due to the heat from welding...or perhaps stress. He feels good after soaking feet in pinetasol after exfoliating with SCHOLL roller...I have a bad feeling it may be relaed to the bad quality of the water or he has an allergy to that water (it leaves a red s**m recently on the shower cubicle). I have also suggested that he use Aspros or neurofen as they help the blood flow whereas Panadol; does the opposite...Let's see what happens from here!

Which Kiss My Face soap do you use? There are a handful of different types. Thanks for the info!

I also have contact dermatitis for years. Simple solution, take off all that is not gold or silver. Bracelets, neckless., anything but gold or silver studs for ears. I wore a neckless and it it perminately in the shape. of. here but doesn't bother me now!
I am talking about 30 years. Nothing worked at all.

I have the same issue and it drives me crazy. I never want to get a pedicure because the bottoms of my feet are all peeled up and it looks worse after soaking in water. Have you found something that stops it?

The white skin/peeling sensation itself is probably not. More likely dyshidrotic eczema. If it is fungal, 9 times out of 10 it will itch, be red and crack, as well as spread to multiple areas of the foot and sometimes ankle.

I have the same condition, and tried every-single anti-fungal cream. Doctors do not know what it is. Then I purchased 'birch tar soap' on ebay $6. I actually purchased it to treat acne. Tried it on my feet, and after washing it twise, the condition was gone....I thought it was a coincidence, but after few years i got condition again. Used the same soap, and what do you know - all cleared up again. I started reading about birch soap, and it turns out that it can be used for every single nusty skin disorder...Good luck everyone!

I have the same problem for many years now (maybe 8 years?) I'm 56 now. My skin is very dry on the soles and side of the feet and palm of my hands and it hardens and gets very itchy so I try to peel it off. I do believe it has something to do with detergents and chemical cleaners and probably what you said-there's something in the water. Our water is not very clean and it actually smells sometimes. I also noticed that it (skin) worsens when I'm stressful. So I tried steriod creams bethamethasone with salicylic acid prescribed by my derma. But it doesn't thin the skin which I'm actually am wary about cause steriods thins the skin overtime (if using for a long time and even off and on). I peel it off and get the satisfaction out of it because the itching stops but the problematic skin comes back even harder. Hopeful that there's a cure.

Guys, there are already two people in this thread who have given you the CURE for this problem. It's rubbing (70%) alcohol. simple and cheap, and definitely not something someone tried to sell you just because they needed to promote certain brands. I'm no doctor, but i have known a long time ago that when you have the usual fungal skin problems, you don't need to use any kind of fungal cream whatever, you can just soak a cotton ball with the alcohol, put it on the problem area long enough, and the fungi thing will just completely die.

I still have no idea if this peeling foot skin problem is really due to fungus or not but i figured that it wouldn't hurt to try the alcohol because sometimes the skin was not "done" and the peeling got too "deep" and felt like it's almost bleeding and that can't be good bacteria-wise, and alcohol could help my feet from getting infected or whatever.

The poster CURED's idea of soaking certain parts of your socks with some alcohol and wear it sounds really brilliant because in my case I just used some cloth and put it on my feet but as you can imagine it was a bit troublesome to keep the cloth in place. So unless you have serious health issues with using rubbing alcohol or whatever, TRY IT.
