Try a gluten-free diet for 2 or so weeks and I bet you see the rash disappear completely. Gluten is culprit of many things, it has many faces and hides so well.
it's not likely that it would come back twice... kind like chicken pox. if you had it once, you probably won't get it again.
My son had this really quite badly and was completely covered. After doing some research I decided to try him on Milkthistle and Echinacea (a good quality brand for both is recommended) and it was completely gone in six weeks. Some also recommend showering with head and shoulder shampoo but my son had no need so we never tried that.
do not feel like a freak, I have it also and i'm African American, not that that matters a lot, but we r not use to see people with pityriasis or what not.. anyway I use to feel so bad cause at first I thought it was chicken pox and started using calomine lotion and mad it worst. now I just go with the flow, I don't care, I keep myself clean and hair done and when people ask I tell them whats up with a smile on my face.. if u have confidence you will see people will not care.. by the way I have ben having this five years now..let me know though if any body find a cure.
26 year old male. I've had self-diagnosed PR for 10 years. I assumed I was allergic to something that my skin was touching. So I now use all-natural laundry detergent, and dryer sheets. I have used every single kind of all natural, organic with essential oil, types of bar soaps from the health food store. Nothing makes it go away. Other than it being unaesthetically pleasing, it doesn't bother me one bit. I'm going on my honeymoon this December and would rather not have PR on my stomach, chest, and arms, while on running around on the beaches of Hawaii. I'm not going to use any steroid. Any suggestions?
I was diagnosed with P.R. almost a year ago...I am 35 year old male about to turn 36. The Mother patch is located under my left pectoral muscle! It has never itched; typically its red and oval in shape, with 15 or so little patches on my torso and a couple on my back Not finding any home remedies or medications that worked I have taken the matter into my own hands!! I am not sure if this has anything to do with it? If you use tobacco products-STOP! I have been using chewing tobacco for the past 6 1/2 years, everyday.... Almost all day. I noticed every morning when I woke up the redness was gone (obviously not chewing in my sleep) and the patches were beginning to fade some.....! Every time I went to work and started chewing I noticed they would get red agin and some times a new one would pop-up. I have been wanting to quit (chewing/dipping) for a long time...... Since no one really knows what P.R. is caused from "everything is speculation" Well last week at work, I was put in a really stressful situation and chewed 2x the amount of tobacco that I normally chew. That night when I got off of work, I noticed my stomach really itching and when I lifted up my shirt I was shocked the rash had almost doubled and began to itch (this was the first time in a year, it itched me)! that was a week and a half ago. I stopped chewing tobacco that night (cold turkey) haven't had 1 pinch since! I started taking colonial-silver the next day, both ingesting it and spraying the rash down with it! I have been drinking tones of water and also got a prescription of biaxin antibiotics, every night before I go to bed I take 2 bynadrle, I also started using a product called Dr. bronner's Magic Soaps its all natural (sort of hippie stuff) ingredients: Water, Organic coconut oil, Organic olive oil, etc for when I shower! Needles to say after one year of this embarrassing c**p! It' almost completely gone!! A couple little dark spots and they both seem to be fading daily hope this helps!
Everyones body is different, I think mine was overloaded with toxic tobacco I have been putting in my mouth and swallowing for years! Maybe the rash is some sort of way the body is releasing an overload of chemicals? IDK Drs. and scientist need to figure it out!!!!
UItra violet light. Don't wait a week or a month. Get into the sun, or if you can't do that go to a tanning salon. If the normal time to start a tan is 10 minutes, then do 5 minutes every other day. You will see the first results in two days, and you may be as lucky as I was to get almost full remission in a week. I can't understand why more reference sources don't advise this. With a tanning salon, you may have to avoid telling them that you have this condition.
I'm diagnosed with it, it itches like...... well, you know! the problem is, It started on me last March and I've still got it! I'm back to the Doc on Monday but the only times I've alleviated the symptoms is when he has given me a 'Scrip for Prednesone. oh well...
