No, it's an impression, though the practical result seems similar. When you shave, you take the thinnest part of the hair off, making the thickest part of it grow back, which will be the thinnest part of the new hair. You then take off it's thinnest part any time. But the difference of diameter between the root and the tip, will get less and less each time. But won't grow faster and I don't think when the hair falls off the new one will be much thicker.
But I wouldn't recomment it for the penis, true.

Well how old were you when you started? You talk about young guys, but anyone, shaver or not a shaver has more hair at 40 than at 18 and at 18 more than at 13 :).
Why then people shaving their head because of thinning, don't get the same effect which minoxidil would have?
"please google everything before you comment "
That's where I think you are joking, as you can bet the first result says it's a myth. but also that you can goodle lots of noise and fake news ;).
Bruh you you should be a motivational speaker, I mean, I went from a little self conscious to “f*** I have a 7 incher, why am I freaking out about a few hairs on the base of my swank.” Thanks dude, I laughed my a** off too!
Started shaving down there, every time it grew back quicker and thicker, sort of the same as facial hair.
Hi, are you sure? As pubic hair already grows very similarly to facial hair, if not even thicker, for some men. Seeing the stubble, of course makes it seem that way. And wasn't facial hair becoming thicker the cause, more than the effect of you starting to shave?
I have a hairy penis too but I dont shave it it is normal I actually love when its hairy cause its better for jerking off cause i can lick it off
I have a hairy penis and my balls are hairy too,I am only 15 but I have a hairy ass too dont know what to do but I wont shave my penis because when I jerk off it is really comfy but my cum does get all over my hair soo it a bit of a strech
I'm 29 and have had hair in my penis for over a decade. I've had a few comments from partners as the hairs are quite thick and can make oral especially unpleasant for them. For me, it makes using a condom uncomfortable since the hairs bunch up near the condom base. I have tried shaving (gives me penis stubble), waxing/plucking (major ingrowns and dryness), and creams (burns and regrow fast). I have had laser done in other areas in the past and I know it is not permanent, so I avoided trying that on my penis (I'm not paying and going through the pain to have it all grow back in a few weeks like nothing happened).
I finally worked up the nerve to visit an electrologist a couple days ago, after finding one that both seemed reputable and was willing to treat the male genital area. It was a little bit awkward at first and I had to hold my member in various positions for her to treat it properly (her hands were full just operating the machine). It was a little painful, about on par with plucking, and took about 2 hours to have my shaft and about a finger's width of hair around it fully cleared. I didn't take any pain medication and didn't need to stop for breaks, but I think I have relatively high tolerance for pain. I might consider taking a half painkiller before the next session. The day of and day after treatment the area was pretty tender, with a bit of redness and swelling. Today is the third day after treatment and the redness and tenderness has fully cleared except at the base where my hairs grew thick and close together. In this spot it sort of looks like I have a bunch of little tiny scans over where the hair follicles were. Apparently this is normal for thick haired areas.
I will post an update on any regrowth and the overall results of cost/time and how it looks and feels. My electrologist claims to have treated this area multiple times but despite that there are very few accounts of men going through with the procedure online.

Penis ass holes I'm a fin girl
Ever heard of hairless cream? Rub on and let it set for a couple of minutes. Rinse and Surprise! No hair.
Did you said " clean scissors" is that a plural and why would you use scissors? To severe your manhood? Congratulation on being femine with hairy vulva or labia.
After multiple sessions, nearly 3 full clears of the area I'm fairly happy with the electrolysis results. I recently went on vacation and for a month didn't see the electrologist and there was some minimal regrowth but nothing like when I did laser. It is expensive but not nearly as painful as laser. It's about as painful as plucking the hair.
Your perception is common but incorrect, shaving doesn't cause hair anywhere on a human body to grow faster and thicker.
