Random itching all over my body

Hi all
I'm 22 and female, and for quite a long time I have been suffering from itching all over my body, mainly during the night. It will occur almost every single night and it is so irritating that I can never sleep!
The only allergy I know of is of a certain body wash that I once used...but that was a few years ago and quickly stopped using it. I have had the itching for as many years as I can remember, but it has always been extremely rare and only seems to occur at night, just when I'm trying to sleep. (Typical.) However, last year when I moved house, I suffered from it slightly more often (roughly every few weeks?). And in March this year, my boyfriend and I moved into a flat together, and since then, I have had it very nearly every single night. I have tried sleeping tablets (just the over-the-counter type) but with no luck. Doesn't matter how tired I am.
I have used the same body wash and shampoo for years and like i said, it used to pretty much never occur, so I ruled out allergies to that. The same applies to washing powder for my clothes etc, and my diet has always been the same.
It only seems to occur at night, and it's mainly on my legs, but it does occur all over (from head to toe!). I haven't ever had any kind of rashes or visible problems. I sometimes apply moisturiser, which can help a little but not always. I try to avoid scratching at all costs!
Erm what else...my boyfriend has never seemed to suffer from it (we share a bed). One thing I've heard that can cause itching is mould, and there is a little of it in my bedroom. However, when we moved in, we slept in a different room, and also, why would I have itched last year when I lived in a different house??
ARGH every night is almost guarunteed to result in no sleep at all...it's getting me down so much and I feel so exhausted. Funnily enough though....I usually find I can sleep during the daytime! I try to avoid it so I won't mess up my sleeping pattern, but it's the only time the itching isn't too bad.

So sorry to hear about your son, my prayers are with him, I have had several CT scans thinking I had MS. but I only suffer from anxiety. the itching is not constant for me, and I can answer no to those two questions. I do not drink either, I quit drinking three years ago and I also quit smoking because of the anxiety. I only hope for the best for your son. Glad he got the diagnoses he needed to be helped.

And show normal, my dermatologist says its eczema and gives me creams that don't help. My legs are so ugly now, the skin is dark and nasty!! I found out that it's my diet. I went to a naturalist doctor who said its my liver. By changing my diet (permanently) and with the natural medicines, the itch goes away.

my doctor told me that it could be a random allergic reaction with things such as Aleve or any other substances that may have once seemed fine when taken in the past: my recommendation is to try to stop taking as many pills or supplements that you can, and only take zyrtec and allegra for two-three weeks. And drink alot of water! I hope this helps!
This is true about unexplained itching it can be a symptom of cancer I had unexplained itching for 3 years and in 2009 I was diagnosed with stage 2B Hodgkin's lymphoma so the itching doesn't have to just be breast cancer it can be any type of cancer but before you jump to a cancer diagnoses I would suggest seeing a physician it could be something simple
Alot of clothing, bedsheets, mattresses, and carpets e.t.c... are treated with formeldahyde and other toxins. I bought new clothes the other day and i cant even wear them. Makes my skin itch and burn.
You should rule out that its not the formeldahyde in your pijamas or beddings. E.i. Sheets and blankets. If it is change em. You can buy organic clothes and fabrics.
Formeldahyde is a carcinogen. And is suprisingly added in alarming doses to almost everything. Google it.
did she say she has scabs?? did she say her boyfriend is having the same problem? then how the fuck is is scabies? read the god damn post. . .

I'm very itchy and don't know what to do or what it is . What do I do? Is it worth going to the ER?
Ihave suffered the same type of thing, but mine is almost 12 hours apart on the dot. I had a sever candida yeast overgrowth. I elimated sugar, white flours, started taking a yeast killing probiotic, My arms have cleared but I'm still fightng the battle with my lower legs. I've gotten sloppy with my sugar and flour, so it is time to tighten it down again. I also found that if I have a day where I have not been able to drink water regularly... I itch more. When I wake at night, I chug half a bottle of water, rub my legs with coconut oil and essential oils.
im having the same problem. mine comes and goes sometimes months. but the worst parts are my shoulders and arms. it becomes maddening like it is right now. i cant stand it.
Its not scabies that only hangs around your crotch or your rists
I am 13. I've had this problem for about the last 3 months. It only occurs when am trying to sleep, even in daytime. my arms and shoulders start itching( i have a little bit of acne on them). My legs kill me litterally, when they itch. Sometimes it comes to my neck. I don't have a rash or anything. Am not allergic to anything. I can't sleep at all. Usaully i fall asleep like at 2 in the morning whenever this happens, because it itches. I've noticed that in the middle of the night when it itches, and i get up to get something or just get up, It stops. Right now it itches too, so i just searched for a cure, cause i have nothing to do
I'm 51 yrs old & have had this itching for as long as I can rmb. It was just now & again say about once every month or so. Having rolled around scratching myself crazy for 40-60 mins end up in tears I found nothing helped it seemed to stop itching it's self as no lotions & potions worked.but recently it's gotten so bad I have to take a hot bath lying there 20 -40 mins then it's gone it's the only thing that works it's triggered by me working up a sweat ie hover or rush as some as I get a little warm boom I'm immobilised by the itching it's quite literally driving me in same
There is no such thing as a "homeopathic doctor." Please don't tell people to partake in that voodoo hocus pocus garbage. It's irresponsible.
