Oh I never had Blond hair or blue eyes, but father did and 4 out of 7 children had Blond hair in my family. I had Brown eyes and hair. Light Brown (summer) to medium in winter.
I am 24 and I have this problem all the time - its a nightmare as I spend a lot of my working days travelling around the city going from hot inside to cold outside in the winter -
Its so, SO painful, I nearly passed out once in the middle of Waterloo station because of the pain.
- all I've managed to do was:
1. drink a hot cup of tea/hot water when it happens to get warmth inside my body which after 10 mins helps to alleviate the pain.
2. Add layers - Although this isn't always practical to carry 5 jumpers around
2. Take some paracetamol / painkiller but this doesn't have a lot of effect and takes ages to work which means you are still in paiiin.
3. Jump in a warm shower - not possible at work!
Some times it can take 20 minutes to go away and it makes tears come to my eyes and its just unbearable pain, sometimes even with slight temperature change.
I have quite big boobs / big areolas - I wonder if this has something to do with it...
Also: I think the Dr's response to this post was AWFUL. - really patronising and just focussing on the risk of cancer / infection rather than addressing or helping with the Raynaud's Syndrome...eugh!!

I am a 65 year old MAN and have the same problem Cold makes my nipples almost unbearable I have no breast to speak of to get sore but larger nipples Just wanted you to know this can happen to men too!
I also have this problem with my nipples and just in June I got them pirced and they hurt even more then before . I guess that wasn't a good idea . Okay I'll tell you ladies what works ! Hand warmers that most people wear in their gloves I place them in my bra over my nipples and I'm in heaven ! Please try this
Aww..I know what your talking about same problem. I am also 36 yrs.and have no kids with this burning nipple pain it also brings me to tears the tips are also white ..I actually stand in front of a stove for heat..Sant know evento do
OMG I can't believe I stumbled onto this post. I have had this pain for the last 5 years and have been too embarrassed to go to my doctor about it. I live in scotland, right by the sea, so it's bloody freezing here all the time T_T even in summer I suddenly get these shooting pains in my nipples, usually only my right one, it almost reduces me to tears and I have an incredibly high pain tolerence.
I just came back in from walking the dog and both of my nipples are sooooo bloody sore and prompted me to finally look up on my ipad and see if anyone knew the answer. I'm sitting here right now with my hot water bottle up my jumper to try and bring them back to normal temperature.
I'm 30 year old female, no children and I defintely don't fit the blonde, blue eyed skinny woman category since I have dark hair and eyes and know I'm over weight ^^; but I am so glad -and sorry- that others out there know what I'm goign through when this occurs.
Usually in public if it happens to me I have the little snap the metal in the middle hand warmers and I have seen myself going to the bathroom and putting them in my bra which helps a little, or I'll go and get a cup of hot chocolate to hold over them a little bit before I drink it.
It's so embarrassing and I have never told anyone, not even family, that it happens and you really have no idea how happy I am to have found this thread. I have noticed lately that my hands and feet have been getting really cold in the winter so I might try and make a doctors appointment soon and see if I can talk to someone and see if they can help out, if they even know about it that is.

I am a 60 year old male with the same problem . I have very small nipples , but the right one ... Omg .. When it gets cold ... I'm looking for a warm wash cloth or something to heat it back up .. I'm going to ask the dr. Next time I go to see him what I can do ..
I'm 16 and it happens a lot to where they turn vluosh purple and its so bad they show through my layers.
Thanks for this post! I've been through this many times! Can't wait to try. Usually use heat and over time it helps , but this sounds promising. Thank you!
I'm a man and have this problem... I've read it is called vasospasm and that a doctor can give meds for.
I have had the same thing happen to me for many years whenever I am out in very cold, damp weather more than 15 minutes. As soon as I feel it coming on, it helps me to wear a soft t-shirt under my padded bra. Then I take hand warmers and put over my t-shirt, inside my bra. As soon as it starts to warm up, the pain goes away. Hope this helps some of you.
I am 61 and I have this same problem but it's only in my right breast...very uncomfortable...the nipple hardens when this happens. I have the inverted nipple thing so my nipples seldom get hard.
Well ladies, the 1st time this ever happened to me, I went out and bought a HPT and it turned out to be very positive!! That was the winter of 2013. It just now tonight started doing that same familiar burning sensation when I woke from a nap and was really cold.... My advice, take the test and if it turns out to be negative, wait a week and take it again!! I'm actually kind of panicked myself cause my daughter is barely 18 months and I really dont need to be preggers right now.
Hello I'm 16 and I'm a virgin so I don't believe I have children I have been having this same problem but everywhere I go to they look at me like I'm crazy because most women who have this problem are in there 30s. It sucks because I can't wear a bra because of the pain I had to go to school for the past month in hoodies and t shirts no bra please if anyone has any suggestions I'll try anything please
I have the same problem. have you been able to find what is causing it?
