I have had similar symptoms for a long time. Plus many other symtoms. I am curious if anyone has considered mercury toxicity from amalgam fillings. This may sound far-fetched to some, but drooping eyelids, swelling, blurry vision, etc are all symptoms of long-term mercury exposure, either from amalgam (silver) fillings or other sources.

you could try using linen and duvets which are natural and not made from synthetics. This made an overnight cure for a friends rhiitus which they ahd sufferred from all their lives. They now sleep with a natural fibre duvet and piloows the same and no more allergic response. hope this helps.

I have the symptoms described and also have recently lost a piece of a filling...it has been about two months.... I am wondering if this is caused by exposure to the filling????

My husband had a rash around his eyes that were also swollen, he ended up having Dermatomyositis. None of his doctors ever figured out what was going on until it was too late. Have your doctor check for this autoimmune DZ.
You may not have it, but it never hurts to check. My Husband was never diagnosed and was not treated and eventually died from complications of the desease

Hope this helps someone. Have your endocrine system checked! My eye doctor kept telling me it was just recurring blepharitis or a bad case of conjunctivitis which spread to my cheek... or maybe a sinus infection that spread to my eye. But after a lot of frustration, I finally found the root cause!!! If you want to test for what I had, hyperparathyroidism, ask your doctor to schedule a lab blood test to test for: 1) PTH (Parathyroid hormone), 2) Serum calcium, 3) Ionized calcium. I was having all kinds of auto-immune problems, including these dreaded eye infections (which aged me tremendously after each time they cleared up) and it was all caused by a tumor on one parathyroid gland and another one was enlarged. I found out the hard way that when you start getting all kinds of wierd symptoms, that usually something is going wrong in your endocrine system. In my case it was my parathyroid, located BEHIND the thyroid (didn't even know it existed!) which resulted in calcium being taken from my bones, wreaking havoc where-ever it deposited. If the above tests show it's not your parathyroid, get your doctor or an endocrinologist to start testing one gland at a time... could by your adrenal gland, your pituitary, whatever. Whenever your immunity system is not working correctly due to a malfunction in your endocrine system, you'll be susceptible to all kinds of recurring, hard-to-treat diseases/symptoms. The mini-surgery to take out my tumor only took 16 minutes as an outpatient and in just a few days I felt so much better over-all... I had forgotten what it was like not to feel fatigued and like I was aging before my time! My moods are better, too. I had my operation done as an outpatient at the Tampa, FL hospital even though I live in Iowa, because you need an expert who does a lot of these, because although it's simple if they know what they're doing, if you go to a General Surgeon who only has done one or two before, they could easily cut your vocal chords or worse, when trying to just FIND the parathyroid glands, which normally are just the size of grains of rice and can be anywhere in your neck. (Just wish I had found this out earlier. Now, I need a face-lift or at least an eye-lift, but probably won't get it--my poor body's been through enough, plus the cost, of course.) If your family doctor and/or eye doctor won't investigate, try to get an appointment with an endocrinologist today!!!

I have the exact same problem - found out its make-up but im fine with max factor mascara though. Im twelve and about a year ago i put some foundation on later that day my mates were all staring at me saying ''Ohhhh,Your eyes look bad'' I'd look in mirror BANG swollen eyelids and puffy red under eyes. I haven't really solved the problem as i want to wear foundation but whenever i do i get the symptoms coming back. All i know is its a chemical that is inside all of them i just spend as much of my time finding out what chemical ...''/ :(

WOW! I can't believe I found this message board. I love the internet! I think I may have this Floppy Eyelid Syndrome. My eye Dr. seems unsure. I was headed to the MD or Dermatologist next--I am so frustrated! Thank you for posting. Calling the Eye Dr. in the morning with the Dx and have him treat me! One eye only. Hard to work sometimes--feels like sand in my eye.
