you are so full of BS, it's hard to believe it. Any one who espouses the just say no theme is an unaware fool who has never experienced life and the vicissitudes coming around the corner. Walk a mile in my shoes, etc. etc. all the platitudes that say the same thing, if you don't know anything about something keep your opinions to yourself. It is better to be silent and let people think you are a fool then open it and remove all doubt.
Philip Thank you so much for sharing your story. I know is never easy to share such sensitive and private issue like u have. Like u I been suffering from chronic pain for some time now. Until almost a year my condition was treated by pain management doctors. Very recently my life have turn upside down with these new regulation. They finally discharge me from my treatment and now depression and pain is the agony I live every single day. when I to a walking clinic and take X-ray they see how bad my back look and to add to my problem I am also an amputee. I seen many amputee living live with minimum pain related complication but in my case, I been thru multiple surgeries in the limp area and have very much complicate my condition. Family doctors wont even write a script for more than 30 pills of 5-325. I no longer have any social life and feel a prisoner of my pain and my home. Is not fear or right to have people like myself , that only want to protect my country, and know that my children will have a better tomorrow. Is not right to have patient like us to suffer after it have taking so long to find the right combination of medication to manage my pain only to be taken off and when I visit the a Doctors office be treated like I am a drug addict and a junky. Thank you so much for letting now that I'm not the only one that is been a victim. Be bless
hello Philip , i like u lived in the usa, i am English but moved there for work purposes, i had a terrible car accidend that nearly killed me it fractured my back, broke my wrist ankle 12 staples in the back of my head and a 40 stitch gash that runs from my face down my neck that almost opened my jugular, and broke ribs 1 of which puncturered my lung. after i got thhrown out of the rear window while in driveres seat. i like u was put on oxies right away. bcos of my injuries i had to come back home to england i am on incapacity support so cant work anymore. my dr. is a nice man has put my on oxies after about an 18 month strggle(tryin evrerything else 1st) of agony but after 14 years on the drug, he rarely if eva increases my dose, now i have to choose between any kinda excercise n sleeping, as my dr. doesnt seem to understand the tollerance that builds up n when he gives me an increase they are to small to make a difference, i would welcome the chance to talk to your doctor on the phone or by email to try n sort somthing out, as the withdrawel pain is becomming worse than the actual pain n that i never thought could happen....

marvelous response. for a minute i thought you were explaining my own medical history. sooner you type out the response than me. i too am a pain survivor on 3 x 40mg of oxycontin/day + perc's. TOOK ME 6 GODDAM YEARS OF SUFFERING TO FINALLY GET TO THIS STAGE DUE OF OVER-CAUTIOUS DOCTORS BECAUSE OF BLOODY ABUSERS!
The problem with doctors treating pain in the US is that the DEA is always breathing down their neck. Prescribe it too much or too often is going to get you looked at, which no doctor in his right mind wants to happen. Also, we have what are called "Mill doctors". You walk in, tell about your pain, they take an x-ray and prescribe. This is particularly true in Florida although Colorado and other states are catching up with phony prescriptions and "doctor mills". So please don't be too quick to judge the doctors as their whole career is on the line.
When you add in people like Rush Limbaugh who doctor shopped and got several prescriptions at one time, then blamed the Oxycontin for his abuse of it. No-one came from the pharmaceutical company and held a gun to his head and said "you are going to abuse this horribly". But with the attitude of not taking personal responsibility we can now blame anything and anyone for our poor judgment or out and out criminality. Rush didn't mean to do it. It was out of his control. Sorry, I think he should have gone to prison where they put poor people for doing the same thing. Anyway, I didn't want to see our US doctors slammed for something that is out of their control. If taken as it should be, Oxycontin is one of the safest pain killers out there. You don't have all the aspirin going to your liver and it is time released so you are not as impaired when using it. Unfortunately it is getting a really bad rap and those who really do need it quite often don't get it.
Just contact me and I will help you as much as I can.

You self-righteous boob, he wanted to know the price, not to hear a lecture from you about what a narcotic is and does, you self-righteous boob. Ill bet he knows more than you about the realities and the statistics and what doctors think and what you "think". Read the post again... he's being tortured with pain.
I will give you one better. Oxycontin cash price in most pharmacies is $650 for a months worth. That could be either two or three pills per day. The dosage is basically irrelevant. For 60, that is $10 per pill. You would think Purdue is a real street drug dealer as the ingredients cost almost nothing.
