Uncomfortable pressure under left rib cage

Hi -- For the last six months or so I have had uncomfortable pressure under my left rib cage. When I first noticed it I was sick with the flu and my husband made me go to the doctor. They did an MRI and ruled out any problems with my spleen, etc. It seemed to go away after that, but lately I have been noticing it again. I feel it when I am lying down and sitting down. I try to stretch or move into a more comfortable position but it just won't go away. Not painful exactly, just a dull ache and pressure. Any ideas? Thanks. Penny

Im sorry but I haven't ...and now I have constant pain in my back and side. It's been a long anxiety ridden 7, 8 years with this. I gave up going to doctors about 1.5 years ago after they after they sent me to an anxiety doctor. Been really worried about this off and on for so long but its not in my head. it iss real symptoms.
So did anyone get any answers with this? I had a air pocket feeling under left ribs last yr Koda went away, then about the same time this yr it came back but worse, my whole side and back feel like pulled muscles and knots with front edge of my ribs from sternum out hurt. Getting cat scan this week.
I have yet to get any answers....in 2014 I had posted that it had been bothering me for 5 years give or take. So id say at the very most conservative guess it started in 2011 (although I'm pretty sure its been longer). This started with me just a feeling of a lump or fullness under my left rib when I would sit down (driving, watching tv, etc etc). Been through test after test. Just had my liver scanned from an abdominal ultra sound in November 2021 , blood tests, and whats called a fibroscan which measures the amount of fat in the liver. Ive been diagnosed with fatty liver and been trying to reverse that through diet (I did lose about 10-15 pounds from dieting and anxiety). But as the holidays came of course I cheated with. the diet. Still I have a hard time believing this is only from fatty liver. I have chronic pain now in my back and side for about 3 years now...not debilitating but annoying. Good luck to you.
I've had this feeling of fullness or swelling on my left side, right under my ribcage for a while now. It's uncomfortable to lie on that side. Lately, I've been getting brief episodes of what feels like muscle spasms of the muscles between my ribs. Lasts only a couple of minutes, but hard to take a normal breath when that happens. Then the muscles relax and I'm ok. I do have GERD, and a hiatal hernia. Perhaps that's the problem?
Hi everyone before you go down and read every single post like I just did, hear me out. I have had this pressure just under my left rib cage for about a year and a half, driving in a car makes it feel worse stretches only help so much but food really gets it going. If I fast it’s good so here’s the kicker you have a good intolerance to Gluten and Dairy cut those out of your diet like me and your pressure magically goes away! True story took me 9 months to figure it out and every once in a while I eat gluten because I love my favorite pizza place and boom pressure comes back full force. My doctor has told me upwards 75% of people have a Gluten intolerance of some kind because it’s basically on EVERYTHING we eat! When you eat to much of one thing your body will start to reject it. Sucked for me I had to take a few blood tests to tell me everything was ok No gluten intolerance come to find out there is more advanced testing for Gluten and a allergy test nailed my suspicions I had indeed what I thought I did a Gluten intolerance so don’t always believe the first blood test! It’s inaccurate!!! Wish you all the best Gluten is horrible for everyone’s body’s anyways I feel so much better cutting it out of my life. Seriously more energy less fatigue healthier looking skin no brain fog the list goes on check it out on YouTube how Gluten destroys us internally. God Bless!
