Uncomfortable pressure under left rib cage

Hi --
For the last six months or so I have had uncomfortable pressure under my left rib cage. When I first noticed it I was sick with the flu and my husband made me go to the doctor. They did an MRI and ruled out any problems with my spleen, etc. It seemed to go away after that, but lately I have been noticing it again. I feel it when I am lying down and sitting down. I try to stretch or move into a more comfortable position but it just won't go away. Not painful exactly, just a dull ache and pressure. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have the same sensation. I have had every test under the sun. From ultrasounds to Colonoscopy to blood work. I've seen 2 specialists and everything comes up good. It makes me crazy. I am active and like many of you, I exercise several times a week, walk my dogs daily, etc. I feel like I have a balloon pushing out my ribs. How could it not be anything!?

I've felt the same exact sensation for 6 months. I'm a male, turned 26 two months ago. I've visited a doctor and he diagnosed this dull feeling in my left rib as pleurisy. I took the medication (ibuprofen) for a week but it didn't help. The pressure still lingers the most whenever I drive or sit in a certain way. I can feel the pressure radiate towards my left middle back sometimes when I take in deep breaths. I feel it less when I'm standing up or when I'm laying in bed. Any suggestions on what this could be would really be appreciated. Best of luck to everyone.

I am having the exact same pressure and had the same test. I'm going to a new GI doctor. I'm just glad to see other people complaining about the same thing. My doctor makes me feel like I am crazy. The only thing driving me crazy is know one can figure out what is going on.
I have this problem as well and just noticed a dozen bruises all over my body. I've found no information on line. Anyone have any updates?
I have been having a pain that is between my navel and my ribs on my left side for the last 10 months. It hurts most when I sit or drive. I am fatigued, have a low fever and am nauseas. The doctors found nothing in the CT except a seemingly unrelated hernia on the right side of my navel, a kidney cyst and an ovarian cyst. Blood work did show I have low cortisol, again- they believe this is unrelated to the pain. I have also had an ultra sound which showed nothing. At the end of the day, I have seen three doctors (4 including the gyno), a nurse practitioner and PA who all believe it is a pulled muscle. They currently have me on anti inflammatory meds to see if that helps. I will have the hernia fixed in a few months- the Dr. says it is not uncommon for the pain to radiate to the opposite side of the location of the hernia, however he believes this is not likely the root of the problem. I am frustrated and sick of the pain and feeling ill. Has anyone found any answers?
my issue began in my left rib over ten years ago...it feels like my rib is moving and my organs are being balled up like a fist...it comes and goes and does not happen every day it usually only last for seconds and it even happened during my pregnancies....it now happens on the right side as well that just started about a year ago.....ive felt lumps near my rib cage but never have had them checked....spoke to my doctor and she told me it is the same as a charlie horse in your leg and it makes sense because it balls up like a cramp and then releases.....my aunt which is heavy set also has them and her doc told her its fat being pinched between the ribs.....hope this is helpful and my treatment was when i have an episode take a muscle relaxer which of course made me way over relaxed and made my muscles feel like mush but helped
What test showed the tumor?? Thank you!
My pain gone, after i start with No gluten diet :)
I am experiencing pressure under right and left rib cage - have had CT Scan, nothing picked up. Pressure is better when I put my bra on, as I am not working, and usually wear loose clothing unless I go out of the house.
Bruising over the body could be an indication of white/red blood cells out of balance - would see an Oncologist. Also, you may want to do research on MDS - just google MDS & read.
