Uncomfortable pressure under left rib cage

Hi --
For the last six months or so I have had uncomfortable pressure under my left rib cage. When I first noticed it I was sick with the flu and my husband made me go to the doctor. They did an MRI and ruled out any problems with my spleen, etc. It seemed to go away after that, but lately I have been noticing it again. I feel it when I am lying down and sitting down. I try to stretch or move into a more comfortable position but it just won't go away. Not painful exactly, just a dull ache and pressure. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Oh my life, I just googled pressure behind my left rib and below and found this page. I'm a 45 yr old female, recently miscarried a much wanted last chance baby and I cannot get comfortable when lying down due to ' something' niggling on my left side, behind my rib and just below it. I had the rib broken by my former husband 15 years ago so don't think it's that but I do still suffer pain in it from outer pressure placed on it so don't want to be poked by doctors. I'm very worried though. I often feel I cannot eat a meal because I've not room for it but don't know my anatomy as to where my stomach is. I can't eat meal sizes that I used to. I've recently started getting excruciating pain in my back when stood cooking or looking in the freezer. My husband says its possibly due to spending five years bedridden with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome and that's why I'm so tired but I started recovering from that in the spring. He says I'm overdoing things and expecting too much too soon and I agree, and then this uncomfortable niggle starts again. I'm currently lying in bed having been stretching and wriggling all night to try and find comfort and now I feel clammy.
This could be due to dwelling from an h. Pylori infection. It isn't listed as a common symptom, however, I have experienced this and know others who have also. It could be worth your while to do some research into other signs and symptoms and get tested.
Hi
So what was the result?

I am having the same problem! :( it first happened over 2 years ago when I've been in unbelievable pain, (mainly right side under last rib) after many blood tests, unltea sound, an endoscopy and i can't even remember what else, the doctors didn't find anything. It then somehow went away on its own. 2 years later I am starting to get the same pain again, it's really worrying that it's come back :( the pain is mainly under my last rib (it feels it) on the right side and sometimes when the pain is really bad it goes into my left side too! Wish I knew what it was!
I also sometimes wake up early in the morning and have to actually get up because the pain is so bad that I can't carry on sleeping :(

Any Dr that says you're symptoms maybe or is anxiety should be fired. I went to several Dr that told me I had anxiety, I even had an eye dr tell me I was faking my vision problems. No what I have is MS . Please find a Dr that keeps looking for the answer, my friend had similar pain on her left side along with gas, back pain indigestion all this was diagnosed as IBS or anxiety. What we discovered last week at an emergency room ...is pancreatic cancer that has spread to her stomach, colon and uterus, not IBS ,not anxiety no 5 years trying to get answers. Grime prognosis. Don't just give up when a Dr gives you the brush off it could mean your life.
Anybody find out the cause? I have been experiencing it for almost 2 months now. Sometimes it feels closer to my stomach, sometimes up more closer to heart area. It is pressure and doesn't hurt. I haven't been to the doctor yet.
Oh my God you guys have exactly what I'm having for me I was diagnosed with a bile duct obstruction in my common bile duct and the reason I got tested in the first place was because I had this kind of dull pressure under my left rib for about a year prior to being diagnosed with my bile duct problem. As a matter of fact that's how they found my doctor problem in the first place anyway they ended up saying that it was my imagination during my ultrasounds MRIs and and a scopic ultrasound they all came back normal with an exception of the problems from my bile duct I don't know what this is but sometimes it gets very very uncomfortable I was wondering if maybe it was a spleen problem it seems to be worse lately when I eat though before it was just a constant thing whether I ate or not.... when I learned about my bile duct obstruction I was given an endoscopic ultrasound which put me in the hospital with acute pancreatitis for two weeks since then that was six months ago I'm now hypoglycaemic sometimes and normal the rest of the time and never know when the hypoglycaemia is going to take a fact the doctors are puzzled because I have so many strange symptoms.... any ideas guys
Daniel did you get a diagnosis with those symptoms?
Please! What was your result?
Ohmagawd, it started after I had the bad flu going around this year. (2017) The weird pressure has been driving me nuts. I'll have to change position to get comfortable. I joke about it being.and alien embryo.
It's funny that you mention MPD/MPN. I have Essential thrombocythemia and am in pre myelofibrosis and are currently experiencing pressure under my ribs
Hi i have all the same symptoms did you find iut what it was??
I have had a similar problem. Mine has been ongoing for 2 years now. Happened after trauma to my chest. It hurts when I take deep breaths, and is also worse when I sit back in a chair putting weight on my ribs. I had an x-ray done which showed nothing. They refused to do any more exams after that point, which is very frustrating (got to love "free heath care"). It seems similar to costcohondritis, although that is suppose to heal with time, which mine never did! Nice to know I'm not alone with these issues, though unfortunate no one could get an actual answer/result from a doctor.
