I would say 2-3 weeks is normal, but your doctor should be able to tell you at your follow-up if everything looks ok. If you are still having discharge by the end of the 3rd week, I would definitely call them back and set up an appointment, because it should be gone by then. And, no, my hormones haven't been affected, which my doctor says is the way it is supposed to be.

It's been about a month since my procedure, and have had my first period since. It was so heavy that they had to put me on provera to get it to slow down and stop clotting and I STILL went 9 or 10 days. I would say that the procedure did not work. It kind of erks me, because now I am going to have to get the doc to do a hysterectomy, which will be a minimum of 6+ weeks from now, and will have to still have major surgery after the tubil and it could have been done and I could be done. I am actually considering going to another doctor to have the hysterectomy done, but don't really want to be so far away from home. Don't know, will have to see what she says and figure out what to do from there )

I had the Novosure-balloon done on April 19th.  Horrible cramps for 2 days, then each day got better.  I had minimal discharge that lasted about a week.  18 days after my surgery, I have started my period.  It is awful, very heavy and the worst cramps that I have ever had in my life.  Has this happened to anyone else?  I can't believe I'm not even experiencing a decrease at all.  Hoping the cramps are bad because I am still healing.

I had a period after my procedure as well, and it was horrible. I had 9-10 days, and they had to put me on provera to get it to go down. Lots of clotting. They don't want to do a hysterctomy until I get my blood sugar and liver under control, which is fine with the blood sugar, but the liver could take years. I am considering going to another doctor who will just be worried about the blood sugar issue, which is now basically under control. I'm going to wait and see if it happens again first.

I think the poster said that your 3 month post-surgery body (ie. the amount of bleeding you do 3 months post-procedure) will be your norm until you naturally go through menopause.

I had Novasure thermal ablation yesterday, had bad cramps immediately afterwards and watery bloody discharge but nothing compared to my usual monthlys, woke up today feeling no pain at all and just slight discharge, hoping this is a good sign and the procedure has worked and I can finally get my life back, only time will tell, I will post back soon with some good progress hopefully

I had my ED ablation 1 month ago along with a tubal & a D&C. I am still very tired, and still am having mild discharge. My stomach is also very sore to the touch. The bloating has gone down some but not all the way. However, I have not had a period as of yet. My incision site has still not healed. At times I feel very sick at my stomach. I am not understanding, only because I thought after a week or so, I would be back on my feet, but its been a month already. Not sure if I should call the Dr. or if my body is taking longer to heal. With reading these post, I see 2-3 weeks, but for me its been a month. I was told not to have any sexual activity for 6 weeks after the procedure, in which I havent.. But, I just feel as though there is something wrong here.. Anyone else having these issues 1 month post-op??

Thanks,

Kim

I think you all need to get a better doctor. I had my procedure on a Friday and no pain, no bleeding, no discharge and up and about right away. I would think positive and not believe all of these horror stories.

I had my ablation exactly 3 weeks ago. I wasn't prepared for this procedure at the time and knew nothing about it. I had at dnc last month and the heavy bleeding continued and worsened. I went invia th ER and this procedure was performed. I was very sick from the anesthesia, extrremely tired and experienced mild cramps afterwards. 2 days after the procedure, I was back in the ER. Dehydration and a UTI. I had the discharge everyone else has experienced consistently over the last three weeks. I,m now blending and cramping and just exhausted. Aside from the physical recovery, I am extremely emotional. At 41 we tried to have children and it just never happened. Fertility doctors, hormones, acupuncture...I tried it all. I thought after the dnc there may be a glimmer of hope for us to get pregnant, now my option is gone and I am having a hard time. I went back to work today and it was a struggle! I have a really stressful job snd I feel like I have no control over my emotions, im concerned. Ive been told people recover quickly from this procedure and return to work fast. I just fel I went back too soon. I'm exhausted! Has anyone else experienced this?

I am 43 years old. I had the endometrial ablasion done on July 18th 2012. I have experienced horrible cramping, moodiness, and horrible bleeding since I began my period at age 9. I was on my period at the time of the procedure. I immediately stopped my period several hours later. I have had no cramping, no pain, slight discharge but that is all. I have more energy today then before it. I have found that many who post have multiple issues going on and some are not even sure if their continual pain and problems are truly a result of the procedure or just an issue they may be having already. Not to say that some people have not truly had a bad experience, I don't doubt it I almost backed out of this because of all the negative posts that I read. And I am so glad that I went with it. From what I can tell already ths is the best thing I could have ever done for myself. :-)  Thanks, Kay

Hello KayF , I also had my procedure on July 18, 2012. My procedure was done in a hospital. After reading the other post I almost didn't go through with it. I was really having doubts. The first day home I was nauseous from the anesteshia(?). 2nd day brown discharge, 3rd day light pink to red discharge spotting/discharge. Some back pain and light crampin for very short periods. I hope this works for my heavy cycles, I have no other gyn problems so I hope we are some of the lucky ones my post op is in 2 weeks. I took 1 week off work my doc insisted that I take 7 full days off to help with the initial recovery and also time to rest. I am glad I did.

it has now been 4 weeks since my Novasure ablation, I said I would post again when Id given it a bit of time to see if the procedure has worked or not, I was worried reading all the horror stories on here but I figure that people only realy post the bad stuff and rare the good, well I am very happy with the results, only had cramps immediately after the op and pain killers stopped the pain after that, I have only had mild discharge that was watery and that seemed to be at the time my period was due, and just after the op,hoping that that is how it will be from now on because I can sure live with that and with it being 4 weeks since the op I think it's safe to say the op has been a success, after two years of being housebound a lot of the time, the worst was heavy bleeding for 7 weeks of clots and agony, I feel like I have my life back. I am very happy indeed
