Trichostasis spinulosa (TS) is a condition where instead of one hair protruding from a hair follicle, a bundle or bush of hair come out of a single follicle. This results in elevated, dark spiny papules on the head, face (usually the nose), and trunk.Nov 8, 2021

So I’m 29 currently, but this started for me at 27/28. I’ve not had any children, so I doubt that’s the cause. It started on outer sides of both my breast’s, and underneath. Over the last year+ it has only gotten worse, spreading to my armpits & going down my ribs, my back and even going down to my lower abdomen. I have found a mix of the feather like hairs (thick/soft ect) & then i have also found pores that are just filled with the peach fuzz hairs, & I can pull up to 5 hairs out of one pore. I’ve tried exfoliating, waxing, tweezing(which takes forever). Also for the first time in my life, once it spread to my ribs and back ect, I developed body acne and it’s bad, I have whiteheads everywhere and recently I’ve started getting much deeper painful pimples on my back. I never had a pimple not once my whole life and now I’m plagued with them. I can’t wear the clothes I like, I’m embarrassed to wear anything that has shorts sleeves (I live in Southern California you rarely need to wear a long sleeve). People used to compliment my complexion, how beautiful and soft my skin is, and now I’m getting scars and marks even if I don’t pop the pimple. I’m even getting pimples on my stomach now, which is also surrounded with the feather like hairs and overly full pores, which is my guess the cause of the acne. It’s so frustrating, I’ve tried every acne scrub cleanser lotion everything, tea tree oil, I made sure not to overly exfoliate. I’ve done countless research, and I’m started to feel hopeless. It’s making me miserable.

What you have is totally normal and many people, both women and men, have this. It is called “Trichostasis Spinulosa“. Basically, in layman’s terms it is caused by plugged hair follicles and the over production of these tiny hairs called “vellus hairs”. If you have tons of these and it is bothering you just wax them off, yes it’s that easy!! Then, make sure you exfoliate and has lotions that don’t clog pores. It works!

No. This is not it. Bamboo hair is entirely different and a common symptom of nethertons disease.
