I am a 44 year old female and I was born with an umbilical hernia and had an outie that got infected and was repaired as an outpatient when I was four or five. My belly button has always been tender and at 25, shortly after I lifted something heavy I started having all of the pains you described. I went to many doctors and none of them could find anything and said it was IBS related or psychosomatic. I did talk therapy and some acupuncture and it was good for a couple years but then it came back off and on. It has been a great cause of anxiety in my life as it is quite painful and scary when it happens and starts a vicious cycle that makes it worse and often causes a panic attack. Sometimes it comes on just by bending over, with period pain, pelvic exams (I get referred pain to my belly button), if I am having the pain urinating can hurt and it also seems to be affected by gas and bowel issues. I finally had a cat scan done last year and they were able to see it on there (can not see it visually or by touch) after 18 years of being told there is nothing. I saw the surgeon to go over it and he said we can do surgery but I should lose some weight first. He also said that it is quite small and that there is a piece of fat lodged in it which reduces the chances of my intestines getting caught. I am very afraid of surgery because there are always risks, being overweight it might be harder to recover (I would have an actual cut and not just laparoscopy) and it may not make the pain any better and it possibly could become even worse. I would love to get in contact with and talk to the person that wrote the referenced post or anyone else who has had similar issues to theirs or mine and get feedback on surgery repair recovery and success. Thank you so much!
What did they end up doing for you and is the pain gone now?
I agree this is a type of neuropathy (disease or dysfunction of one or more peripheral nerves) related to the urachus (wikiped: The urachus is a fibrous remnant of the allantois, a canal that drains the urinary bladder of the fetus that joins and runs within the umbilical cord.[1] The fibrous remnant lies in the space of Retzius, between the transversalis fascia anteriorly and the peritoneum posteriorly.)
Our bodies are filled with Trigger Points and nerve connections - these are what acupuncture, acupressure, reflexology, etc... all utilize. I've had occassional stabbing pains in the tip of my penis off and one throughout my lifetime, never paid much attention to it as they were temporary and I knew it was a nerve going berserk.
For decades I've laid on golf balls on my back and varying body parts on a carpeted floor to relax tight muscles, similar to accupressure. Often I'll feel connected parts of the body react as well. The other day I was laying on a ball on my abdomen near the naval and felt the connection right to the tip of my penis - instantly I knew the nerves were connected from the two points, but was not experiencing pain so continued, as I was trying to relax some tight abs I had.
Next day I had acute stabbing pain in the tip of my penis in the same spot, that still is occuring though diminishing many days later thru today. When I've irritated a nerve from overdoing the golf ball thing, I've had this happen elsewhere - it eventually recovers and subsides.
Clearly this is a muscle tightness - irritated nerve issue. Recommendation as with all muscle nerve issues: regular stretching, massage with a vibrator if cannot afford real thing, lose weight if overweight to reduce stress on spine and nerves accordingly.
I also have the belly button to penis and anus pain. I have a smell umbillical hernia.I find relief when lieing on my back and pushing the hernia back into the abdominal cavity.Carbinated drinks and alchol also affect it.
Chronic prostatitis - You should all look into this as it seems to match the symptoms you guys describe

I disagree, and from the sounds of the moderator - this comment seemed to be an ad for a link. Prostatitus has many sysmptoms such as difficulty in urinating which none are describing. Plus it tends to affect the middle-aged to elderly, while many of the posts are from young men. In my case this has been a random occurrence since my twenties. Further, I've had my PSA levels tested as I'm now in my forties and they are at the low end of normal, which is good. I wish Trolls would not try to scare people. Clearly if you are having discomfort and symptoms, you should check with your doctor, however once the doctor has ruled out any serious conditions and remains perplexed, then the commentary that this seems to be a nerve and muscle situation seems the most accurate answer...
Source: Yahoo AnswersIn the unborn child, the kidneys empty through the umbilical cord into the mother's bladder, via the placenta and her blood stream. There is a nerve that runs from the umbilicus to the kidneys and branches also to the bladder and the urinary orifice in the baby. In a girl, that is the end of the urethra and, in a boy, the end of the penis. Until birth, the nerve stops urine from emptying into the mothers uterus. For some years after being born, this nerve continues to send messages as if it were controlling the bladder through the umbilicus - your belly button. So if you press in the belly button, the remnant of this nerve react and sends a message to the bladder, the kidney and the urinary orifice. Most people find it is just a tickling sensation in the bladder but a few, such as you, find it runs the whole length of the urinary tract and tries to stop your penis from taking urine. Of course, there are other nerves and they are more influential; so you urinate as normal.
Im feeling this exact thng now pls help!
