Its not like i Miss the sex drive much but I thought Id use masturbation to cover the withdrawl effect not knowing years of pot killed it. Wierd huh? I also cant go 1 hour with out coughing up a mouthfull of black spit. and once I actually choked on it cause i tried to swallow it.

I smoke weed and this person who you've decided to berate is merely trying to help. you're response was beyond unnecessary, hopefully primarily because you were suffering "un-named" symptons of quitting (you probably had no idea though, know-nothing-know-it-all). And as far as you're off the top of the head numbers regarding the amount of time it takes for toxins to clear out sounds, well, a lot less reliable than a study by an accredited university that uses the scientific method to arrive at their conclusions. I have 10 years sobriety and it took the better part of 6 months for me to truly feel "niormal" again. Long story short, the amount of time has a lot to do with your fitness level (THC is stored in lipids, a heavy smoker with excess BF will take longer to completely detox), quality of marijuana you consumed (is it medicinal grade?), the regularity you smoked, your age, etc. So everyone who is having a hard time quitting, rest assured there will come a day when you realize the fog is gone. And ps: you're still a penis!

I've been a habitual smoker since I was 15 (now 36) and have a habit of quitting cold-turkey every few years. I've been incredibly tired lately, though I do not recall this being an issue before (memory may not serve me well, however).

I'm an active person; I lift at least 3 days per week and have done so for the past 5 years and on off days I look for a physical activity. My diet has been consistent and healthy for this duration as well (largely protein and fats with minimal carb intake unless it's a heavy lifting day).

I understand that after quitting the brain serotonin production is low/sluggish and can take awhile to regulate. I'm not sure to what extent serotonin plays in to this feeling of lethargy, but I found this study that may give a little light: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10622375 .

Good for you man. Quitting was always about what others wanted, now its about what i want and i think that is the most important causal factor in quitting anything. Alcohol i quit on my own, and now ive found my own reasons to quit marijuana...the tiredness ive noticed has been a complete b***h but ill hang in there... hopefully you hung in there as well. Great job!

I smoked heavy (3 + grams a day on the lower end) for 20 years. I am 2 months out, and I am still going thru symptoms. Some days are getting better, but not as many as I would like. Thank everyone on here, because I was really feeling alone. A symptom not mentioned that I have had is between 1 and 3pm everyday if I do not head it off, I freeze for about an hour. I have to sit in front of a space heater just to get my temp to even out. Also I tested clean yesterday (OTC), so symptoms can last longer than weed does in our systems. My personal opinion would be it is more than toxins leaving our bodies. I believe it to be an entire system reset, but it is totally worth it!

Yea I've noticed even with not being a weed user all my life when I smoke it the next week or two you feel drained and weak. Its mainly from the toxins and harsh chemicals when smoked. I remember when i ate thc edibles, the next days i didnt feel like that...ill have to try it again and make sure.

Also when I felt drained and tired from stopping, sweating it out by working out and taking a good cleanser also helps you gain your adrenals back to normal.
