I've been keeping tabs on this thread for a while as I have experienced exactly the same symptoms as some of you.
Sex is very uncomfortable, especially at the start, even though we always make sure I'm ready. It seems to ease off after the first bit, but afterwards I get the stingy sensation, it all feels a little swollen and more often than not there is a small cut towards the back which bleeds a little.
I've been back and forward to the doctors umpteen times and she can't find anything wrong (although I have been treated for thrush various times in the past and have to be careful with bath lotions and washing powder etc) and the last time was there she went as far as to suggest it was psychological and I may need some sort of counselling which I know is a load of rubbish.
I decided to try out a few things I'd read on here and thought I'd let you know how I got on.
First I made sure I didn't have a recurring case of thrush, then I had a look in the chemist at various lotions and potions for treating Bacterial Vaginosis. I picked Balance Activ - it was about £10 for 7 tubes - so far I've only used 2....and believe me what a difference. The first time I used it was fine - a little messy (you should use at night just like thrush treatment) and a little stingy - the leaflet says this might be the case especially if there are little cuts in the area etc. Sex after the first time was a little more comfortable, so I decided on a second treatment (you can use every day if need be). I used it after sex (which was maybe a bad idea as it stung really bad the next morning) but since then everything has been great.
It works by balancing the ph (or acidity). It recommends using it regularly, but I figure I'm only going to use another when I feel the discomfort returning - I was on holiday for the past 2 weeks and my sex life has finally returned to normal! Google it - there is lots of information and also recommendations.
I hope this helps someone as it was really beginning to get to me.

I am having these problems to, i have been dating my boyfriend for almost a year now, none of us have had any other sexual partners besides eachother. a few weeks ago i had an UTI(urinary tract infection), and i went to my doctor and got medication, right after taking we had sex and i realized a burning around the opening of my vagina. i am on birth control and everything, i am pretty sure neither of us have std's, but i have had more disgarge then before, could i have an yeast infection??? someone please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"Hello all you people out there like me! It is good to know that some other women have this problem. It seems as though I have 2 problems in one: It feels like I have interstitial cystitis (which is an INCURABLE constant pressure on the bladder and makes you have to pee all the time) AND vaginismus (which is a sudden tightening of the vaginal opening when something tries to enter it resulting in pain) when we are not having sex (which is unfortunately most of the time) I am having this constant pressure on my bladder, and when we are having sex, it feels like this horrible pain in the opening of my vagina and even my clitoris. I have been tested millions of times for all of the STI's, and Ive had many UTI's, yeast infections, and BV, but ive been to the doctor several times for this problem and it seems to be none of those this time. I am currently seeing a urologist that says i have urethritis (which is just inflammation of the urethra), but it just seems like only a small part of my issue!
Does anyone else have these same issues combined and what have you tried!?!? HELP PLEASE this is getting so depressing for me! "
I have the same problem! How did the doc treat it? any suggestions?

Is everyone on birth control? I have the same problem, same scenarios, but mine started when i started taking birth control. One person said it stopped for a while after they stopped using birth control.. Just some ideas....
DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY HAVE AN ANSWER OR ARE WE ALL SAYING WE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM...
OH BTW IT BURNS ME TOO..BOO HOO

I had the burning as well and went thru everything for testing and so forth. This may not be the case for all but something to take a look @. Mine turned out to be a muscle that was tighting. here is a link to the website that explains it.

I just want to join the thread and say how crazy it is that 95% of us all have exactly the same symptoms and no solid way of solving our problem!!
I have just turned 23 and haven't been able to have sex with my fiancee for the last year because of pain. Me and my partner had awesome regular sex until early last year when I got my first yeast infection. I ended up getting about 3 of them in the space of a few months and sex all of a sudden began to get more and more painful. I ended up with a couple of splits in my vagina and put the pain down to them. I stopped having sex and let them heal, only to have them happen over again as soon as we had sex again! It was extremely painful! I saw a couple of different doctors who prescribed me different creams and antibiotics, they told me the splits would have been caused due to the yeast infection and it causing my skin to become thin. The constant infections also meant that it would take longer for the splits to heal fully too. None of the creams worked and I have been too scared to have sex since because every time I try the pain kills me! Luckily the split healed early this year but I have still suffered constant yeast infections on and off for the whole of the past 10 months since, and now I have the burning pain all of you girls are describing!! It's like one thing after another! I went to a gynecologist who was hopeless, he gave me a dilator to stretch the muscles in the area but it burns even using that! He gave me antibiotics for my yeast infection also but they only made it worse. I also have no problem with lube and my partner and I are both very healthy and only use dove soap, wear cotton underpants and don't use dryers for drying sheets/clothes etc.
The only thing I have managed to cure so far are my constant yeast infections! No thanks to any of the doctors I have seen over the past year, I worked it out myself with the help of some helpful online tips and a lot of experimenting with my diet. So for any of you suffering from yeast infections you should check out dietary suggestions and go the natural way! It's been hard but I have now cut out all foods containing, yeast, sugar, gluten, starch, simple carbohydrates, flavorings, fungi, processed food, soy and alcohol. Also fruit as it is too high in natural sugar so it still feeds the yeast. It looks like a lot but after doing some research it still leaves room for all the greens, whole-grains and along with taking extra vitamins and eating plenty of protein rich foods I have never been healthier! As for the burning, unfortunately I am still working on it!! I thought it was related to the yeast infection but so far that one is gone but the pain is still persisting! I will keep trying and if I find out about something that helps I will post it up! I'll also try the baking soda idea to balance PH too, that one sounds interesting!

I have had this problem for seven months nonstop. There is not an hour in the day where I don't have this burning. I have had 5 different bacterial infections and two yeast infections over the last seven months and have been treated (almost immediately) for them all. I go through the treatment, have no noticeable relief whatsoever, then go back to the doc to have them tell me the infection is cleared and they don't know why the symptoms wont dissapear. I was put on low-dose antidepressents to help with what they believed to be nerve pain...five weeks in and NO difference. It burns when I stand, sit, pee, don't pee...anything! I have been with my boyfriend for 6 years and haven't been able to have sex at all for months. I feel so guilty all the time and have been to at least 10 different doctors in the last 7 months and have been poked and prodded countless times. No one can give any sort of explanation...they all just say "well, we don't know why but this seems to happen to some women some times and eventually it just goes away". It's to the point where I can't do anything but think about how badly it burns ALL THE TIME. If there are so many people having this problem why can't someone just figure it out?????????????!!!!!!!!!!???????? You know if guys were having this problem some doctor would have figured it out a long time ago.
ever since i started having sex, it hurts if my boyfriend uses condoms. Or lube. It doesnt hurt when he first puts it in, but if he pulls out and proceeds to re-enter it burns really bad. But if he doesnt wear a condom or use lube its perfectly fine. Could it be possible to be allergic to water-base lubricant??
I've got the same problem. EVERY time we have sex it burns like crazy. (it also burns if i pee immediately after, but not at any other time) it's awful! i can't even get into the mood anymore because of the pain. I've tried everything i could think of, and still nothing. my gyno was of no help either. i've been with the same partner for 2 and 1/2 years, and this has just started happening in the last 6-10 months. i can see that everyone else here has the same problem, but no solution. WHAT DO I DO?!?! I just want my love life to be normal again!
