I currently have three children my husband and I are trying for number 4 which will be our last. After the last baby I decided to get the Paraguard which I had in place for two years. The string got lost when my doctor tried to remove it, so I ended up needing to go to the OR to have it removed. The doctor told me after to not get pregnant for three months after, I was in too much pain and sleepy to ask her why. I never went to my post op appt, and now its been 4 months and we cant get pregnant. I know the days 10-14 after when my period starts to try but I am getting nervous I have always gotten pregnant the very first month. DO you think there could be damage from the IUD? Or is it Gods way of saying "not now"?

I had my IUD removed in Jan. after having it two and a half year.my husband and I are ttc. It can be very stressful! but that isn't helping us get pregnant. Some many women get pregnant when they stop trying to (hence no stress). I know that blaming to Mirena can make you feel better about how hard it is. But the mirena is no different from any other hormonal birthcontrol. If it was causing all of this doc. wouldn't recommend it. All we read about on these forum is bad news (which again doesn't help us to become pregnant). Many Mirena women don't get on forum like this because they don't have any problems in concieving. If you think about it we are older since we had our last children so concieving will not be as easy as it was before. My midwife told me that out of a hundred couples that start to ttc in a year, twenty of them will not succeed before the year is out. 2-4 will become pregnant each month and there is no way of knowing which couple it will be. It took my sister almost two years to concieve each of her kids and she never even had an IUD. All I am trying to say is relax and have fun ttc. God has a plan for you and as long as you trust in him, it will all work out in the end. Good Luck Ladies!

I'm 33 yrs old. I have two kids 11 and 4. Never had a problem with getting pregnant. I had the Mirena for 4 years and love it. It was the perfect birth control me. Finally some that work and I didn't have to think about it. I got married year ago. My husband don't have any kids so we decide to start working on have a child. It's been 6 month and nothing yet. Now I know they say you should wait at least a year before you start worrying but I have always been very fertile. Never had a problem with getting pregnant. For the past 5 months I believe I was pregnant because I was having pregnancy like symptoms; Sore breasts, fatigue, lower back pain and flutting in my lower abdomina. As for my cycle those have only been for one day and month. I have very little cramping. I'm trying to be patient, but I never had a problem and all of sudden that what is always on my mind. I will be making an appointment to see a doctor to see if he can tell me what is going on with me. My husband also will going to see a doctor. Could all this be happen due to the Mirena. :(

Here it is 1 year later since I had the Mirena remove on 4/7/2009 and still not pregnant. I will be 34 in May 2010. I had never had a problem with getting pregnant ever in my life. The only thing I can come it with is the Mirena. I had try alot of birth control myth; the depot shot, birth control pill, and some birth control that goes in my arm and had that one in for two years. I never has a problem with none of those myth on birth control. Now that I have tried the Mirena I had not issue when it was in now that I want to have my 3rd child I am having issues. At times I still have the pregnancy symptoms but no baby. It has become so frustrating for me and my husband. My doctor keep telling that it will happen just be patient. Can anyone tell me something different?????

I'm the 34 year with the two kids 12 and 5. Everyone has turned a year older. After trying for a year to get pregnant I found out on May 8, 2010 I was 5 weeks pregnant. On June 2, 2010 I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. >:( I'm so upset about this whole thing. I wish I had never gotten the mirena if I knew all this was going to happen to me. I had never has any problems getting pregnant. Never has a miscarriage. I am the first one in my family to have one. Now I am here back to square one all over again. :-(

i have had my IUD for 2 1/2 years and im having mine removed next week because i want to try and get pregnant. i called and talked to my dr first before i decided to do it. i was told that once it is removed its best to wait for about 6 weeks before trying to conceive because you have to try and get the birth control out of your system and also to give your uterus time to heal. once that has taken place it shouldnt take that long but keep in mind every woman is different. i havent had any problems with my iud i just feel its time for another baby.

I had the Mirena IUD in for 6 or 7 years. Waited one cycle then got pregnant. I miscarried at 10weeks. I believe the baby stopped growing and died at 7 or 8 weeks. I was not able to book an appointment to see a doctor until my 12th week. I bled for one week after my miscarriage and will be going to see a Doctor in a few days to discuss when the best time to get pregnant will be. I also have researched and found that wild yam has natural proestrogen in it that can help the baby up to the 12th week as well as baby aspirin can help thin blood. Hopefully I only have to wait one cycle. Wish me luck!

Hi! I had the Mirena IUD in for about 4 years. Got it removed in April this year, and I still haven't had a period (5 months later) Has anyone else had this problem? I want to have one more child, but I'm afraid that I'm not ovulating due to lack of menstruation. What is taking so long for my body to return back to normal?

**I had an IUD mirena in for almost four years. I had it removed in January of 2009. I have been trying to get pregnant since December 2009 and have not had any luck. I do not have regular periods anymore. The longest ones i have are for 3 days. I am worried that since i had the IUD i may never be able to have another child again. Has this been a problem for anyone else?

I am 27. I had my first child at 18 and the next at 23 I had mirena out in 4 months after the birth with no complications, no real pain i had always been regular 30-31 days and the mirena made me 36 days on the dot. I had it removed one month shy of having it for 4 years May 09 so we could ttc #3. I was excited when i found out i was pregnanant on my 5th cycle. Everything was normal great i went in for an u.s to hear heartbeat in my 12th week since it was difficult finding it on the portable. I did this 2 days later and to our suprise NO HEARTBEAT had a d and c the next morning... completely horrified, and on dec 23 on top of it so the holidays were rough. now its been 11 months since with no luck until this week when i suffered yet again another miscarriage at 4 weeks naturally. I am relieved that it happened at 4 weeks rather than later but still so confused. I conceived my 2 children on my 5th cycles not knowing anything about fertility and now i know everything i need to know about it. I have regular 30-31 day cycles I ovulate, i can feel it along with confirming with opks. we have a healthy intimate relationship and i know when my window is yet nothing. Ive even tried not tracking but the problem is that i know my cycle and being its so much like clockwork its hard to not know whats going on with my body. so i continue to track symptoms after O so i can compair and have something to go off of when i see the specialist in a few months. they are making me wait 12 months from my d and c even thou we have been trying since may 09. I think its rediculous they make you wait because insurance doesnt cover any of it so whats the big deal

Had my Mirena removed the first week of September 2010 and pregnant already - 2 months later! Had what seemed like a period right after it was removed, then nothing for 43 days, then had a regular period. Calculated when I thought I'd be ovulating, and got pregnant right away!

Wow this is all very nerve wrecking im 22 and have a 3 year old ive had the mirena for 2 years and iam going in a week to have it removed for multiple reasons first being that at the almost 2 year mark i started having every pregnancy sign, i had a metalic taste in my mouth, enlarged swollen breasts, unexplained weight gain (15 pounds in less than a month after lossing 10 pounds in 2 months and nothing changed in my life style), i was always tired, my back hurt, and i took multiple hpt and they were negative. so i started researching and found out other people where having the same things happen all around 1 1/2 to 3 years in! and most werent pregnant but alot were and they were losing the babies ! so me and the hubby decided that this wasnt right for us and that we were ready for our second child. :-) our first was a happy oopppss and we were only active for less than 3 months before conceiving but now im worried because of all the stories and i have read that your weight can have an affect on getting pregnant and miscarrying and i didnt lose all of my post baby weight from my daughter. I havent always had a period but i have always had atleast period signs im like clock work in almost 4 years my period or atleast symptoms have only shifted a few days i gave birth to my daughter on the 23 and i get my period usually the 20th to the 23rd depending on the month so im hoping that that means i have a strong cycle..lol.. i know my hormones are strong because i have changed all of my friends cycles to on or around mine..lol.. so can this mean that we will be one of the lucky few who get good news right away? ( sorry for the long post) plz reply if you have any advice %-)
